I share the same views as you, though I'm also not caught up with romance. I think if you're going to do a couple, they should be on the same page and both be able to develop as their own person. So I don't mind this kind of plot, especially since it can also help character realize their feelings.
The thing about this drama is that romance was never its focus, it plays an important role, but that was never the priority. It's just that the audience really loves obvious romance...leading to today's predicament.

Oh yes I feel like everyone's styling got a boost today, like they were already insanely beautiful but it became even more awesome! Fugui's new blue outfit has more structure and that blue is so pretty, Rumu is decked out with fancy trinkets, and Qing Tong looks good with red and her new hairstyle. I must say Qing Cheng's sense of fashion isn't bad lol.
Today's episodes were quite entertaining. The trio is the most comedic thing ever, got me laughing so hard. I feel like the addition of Fan Yunfei gave this drama a lighthearted family vibe, Fugui and Rumu are both smart people then you have this dumb kid haha. So far, this drama has been very serious and atmospheric, finally, there is a breather. Qing Tong is also very smart; she can fight back against her brother, and it's good to see her develop. Happy today!
