What if I dislike the brother? Should I get your approval first? š
People are allowed to have different opinions on fictional characters. Calling it āweirdā when they donāt agree with you, and saying youāre āconcernedā by their reasoning, comes across as far more judgmental than simply disliking a character.
At the end of the day, itās fiction. Nobody needs permission to hate the brother, love Lu Feng, hate Lu Feng, or hate them both.
Shout out to all my unapologetic black flag enjoyers watching this show. Are there existing spaces like Discord…
I donāt know if one already exist but we can create one if it doesnāt š maybe a telegram group or something (I have no idea how discord works š« )
Day is WAY worse than Lu Feng and many other characters, yet Iāve never seen this level of outrage about him…
Day kidnaps Itt because he believes Itt is responsible for harming his brother and wants revenge. He deliberately targets him, takes him to his house, and keeps him captive. While Itt is imprisoned, Day subjects him to repeated physical, verbal, and sexual abuse, treating him more as an outlet for his anger than as a person. Over time, Itt develops a traumatic attachment to Day, which is why many readers compare their dynamic to Stockholm syndrome. From that point on, their relationship becomes deeply codependent, with both of them unable to let go of each other despite the abuse and damage that formed the foundation of their bond.
I donāt want to defend him, and it bothers me that I have to put a disclaimer before saying anything related…
Yeah heās toxic and obsessed and he will never change š¤·š¼āāļø Thatās why I said that there isnāt a redemption arc for him. Because he wonāt be able to better himself

I completely agree with you.
To be honest, this comment section has genuinely made me enjoy this series less. Not because of the story itself, but because it feels impossible to discuss the characters without first adding a hundred disclaimers.
For me, some things are obvious. Condemning rape and abuse should be obvious. It shouldnāt have to be repeated every two seconds just to earn the right to talk about a characterās emotions, motivations, or psychology.
Yet every day I see people being accused of supporting Lu Feng simply because theyāre discussing his POV or trying to understand what goes on in his head. Thatās absurd.
This is the first time in my 29 years of life that Iāve felt unable to freely discuss a fictional toxic character because of the judgment of other viewers. And honestly, itās ridiculous.
What I find ironic is that some people spend all their time criticizing Lu Feng for being toxic, manipulative, and aggressive, then turn around and attack real people for having a different interpretation of the story. They dig into the psychology of a morally grey character while simultaneously behaving in an aggressive and verbally hostile way toward other fans.
People keep comparing Lu Feng to every toxic BL ML, but somehow everyone forgets Day from Love Syndrome. That…
Day is WAY worse than Lu Feng and many other characters, yet Iāve never seen this level of outrage about him being a certified rapist.
And honestly, Iāve never seen the comment section of Love Syndrome become as toxic as this one. People disagreed, sure, but they werenāt attacking or insulting other viewers.
I have started to hate Lu Feng. Nothing about the hospital scene made me feel anything for him. He was saying,…
I donāt want to defend him, and it bothers me that I have to put a disclaimer before saying anything related to this series.
But I donāt think he meant āplease wake up so I can do it again.ā In the whole hospital scene, he was admitting that his revenge had lured him into a state of psychosis, and he acknowledged that it was all part of a plan to make Yi Chen pay for how much he had suffered. At that point, I think he just wanted him to wake up because he missed him.
That said, Lu Feng CLEARLY has problems. The first one is that heās obsessed and he canāt let go of that obsession.
Also, I donāt think the story wants to redeem him. I think the story wants to show us the darkest side of love. He will always be a little manipulative and obsessed, and thatās part of his character.
This entire love story only exists because Lu Feng refuses to let go ššIf it were up to Yi Chen, they wouldāve…
And youāre right! When it comes to Lu Feng he surely act like a coward.
Also, I do think he has feelings for Lu Feng. I just personally donāt see them as love. To me, love is also about choosing someone, standing by them, and putting them first when it matters. Yi Chen consistently puts other people above Lu Feng and is even willing to go against him to please those he considers more important. Thatās why, from my perspective, it doesnāt feel like love.
Iām sorry, but I genuinely canāt get past the fact that Yi Chenās brother has this much control over him.
I know the show wants me to see their bond as touching, but at this point it just makes me uncomfortable. I wouldāve much preferred Yi Chen telling Lu Feng, āBro, I canāt forgive you. Iām leaving and moving on with my life.ā
At least that wouldāve been HIS choice. Instead, he leaves because his brother asks him to.
For once, Iād like Yi Chen to make a choice because HE wants it, not because someone else does.

Unfortunately, for me, itās not love. Yi Chen doesnāt love Lu Feng, and not just because of the kidnapping. He didnāt love him long before that, and Lu Feng fucking knows it. Thatās why heās always trying so hard to hold on to him. Because deep down, he knows that if he lets go, Yi Chen wonāt choose him
I wish that would tell us the time jumps! how much time has passed from waking up from the coma??? how long was…
He clearly remembers everything. When Lu Feng reached for the ladder and touched him, Yi Chen looked genuinely scared. As for the time jumps, weāll probably never know š They clearly want to keep that information from us. It could be a day, a year, or five years for all we know. š
