I think he is the character that the writer hoped that the viewers thinks that he is the one (but he isn't). My money is on Yano. I don't read the manga so idk if we're going to get a surprise addition or not.

The moment when the leads realized that their memory being rewritten, I think it should be happen on episode 2. It's gonna be good to misdirect the viewer to think that this is a Sci-fi drama at first when it isn't.
