It is kinda implied when you questioned "why people are hating on him", and followed up by saying, "He is not evil to FL". Which comes out as, "he is evil to everyone, but good to FL, don't hate him please"
It's simple, he is evil to everyone else. He is also manipulative to FL. So people are, rightfully, hating on him.
You can hate a character and still find the character interesting at the same time.

I don't understand why people are blaming either the ML or the FL for trusting people they have known for years. It's those evil guys' fault for not living up to ML's or FL's trust in them.

If anything, blame them for not communicating well enough to be thrown into whatever situation they are in now (I have put the drama on hold to wait until all episodes are out, so I am not caught up at the moment). But put the blame equally on both ML and FL. Neither of them communicated well enough, so blame them both equally. It's not one person's fault here, guys.

So SMLs can be evil to literally everyone, but if he is good to FL, he's fine?

I do like the actor playing WZS, and would cheer if he and TXW did a drama together as main leads, but this WZS and WZ pairing ain't it.

I don't think anyone here shipping WZ with WZS.

I was able to hold myself when ALP was airing and I've been busy watching FIYS.
I was reading all spoilers and really wanted to watch it, but held myself together. That's a real angsty drama.

I wouldn't put it past them, but my guess is that they are our of fake accounts .

Of course, they could resort to creating more. Poor souls have nothing better to do with their pathetic lives.

Fortunately I've got good self-control. 😂

And yeah, haters are crazy.
I've been monitoring ratings this past week. On avg, whenever ratings are refreshed, you see 5-10 (at most 15) new users rating the drama. One time, I think it was early this week, there was a small jump in the ratings from 7.6 to 7.7. And voila, how many new users rated the drama the next time ratings refreshed? 50+!!! And we were back to 7.6.
No one can convince me that that is not the work of the haters.

Thankfully that didn't happen since last two days.

It will still fall short (by a lot) of the ratings it deserves.

I guess haters are out of fake accounts. Since last two days, there haven't been any big jumps on number of new users rating the drama whenever the ratings are refreshing.

First big downward spiral, and this was just a few hours before Xu Kai's scandal, about 200 new users have rated the drama, and the drama ratings dropped from 8 to 7.8.
And some people call us crazy for blaming the haters.

Alright, I guess I'm holding off a bit earlier than I'd imagined. I will wait for the express release on Tuesday.

Of course, until then, I'll just lurk around here for spoilers. 😅

Mind you, Douban is actually actively fighting to minimize fake ratings. So the ratings are a lot more genuine than they are here on MDL.

Also, since this is a Chinese drama, their own audience are a lot more critical of their own dramas compared to us.
