Well big news, this is a public forum. Everyone's got their own views. They express it. They aren't forcing their views on you, but you sure are trying to force your views on everyone here.

It's not them, it's you who should make a group chat with those of your similar thoughts and gatekeep it. Don't bother gatekeeping here, you will be exhausted, because, as I said, this is a public forum. And many more people will come and share their own views that you may not agree with.

You don't even read the comments of the poster and you already label it a hateful comment? Wishing for Xu Kai to do more rom-coms is hateful? If that is hateful, I've got news for you: many oh many fans have same opinion, including me. And it's not like we won't be supporting dramas like 800. We don't need him to do all rom-com. Actors work on at least 2-3 dramas per year, and all we hope is one of them being a rom-com.

If this is the result of every defamation case, would they ever stop? An apology and 5000 yuan? They make a hella lot more than 5000 yuan for spreading ridiculous rumours. 🙃

Why are you so pressed about this?
If someone wishes Xu Kai to do more rom-com, that's their business. Just like no one is forcing them to watch 800, that poster is also not forcing their views onto anyone here. And the person is not even negative about it, you'd know it if you read their replies.
Fans like you are called gatekeepers, always turning away new fans. And you wonder why Xu Kai's dramas get downrated. It's behaviour like this that turn potential fans into haters.

I think having 5-6 episodes after time-jump is more than enough.

That is sad. MDL has fake/bot/sockpuppet users problem.
A few actors/actresses fans have already created multiple bot accounts. Their only purpose is to rate high for their idol's dramas, and downvote any drama in competition (airing at the same time, one of the main leads involved in a cp with their idol, and many other reasons they can think of as competition) with their idol's drama.
I'm not sure if this drama is a victim of this scenario. But I can say this, some of the dramas rated above 8.7+ aren't even close to how good this drama is.

Yeah, just got done with episode 22. Will have to pause now and get back to it later in the evening.

They had 279 tracks, yet they seem to use two or three tracks again and again, and sometimes they don't even fit the scene.

I envy you really, though. I also hope I don't notice these details so I can just enjoy the drama for what it is. And the drama is great. Yes, it has its flaws, every drama does, one of the flaws being the use of bgm, but the positives outweigh the negatives. Especially the story and screenplay, top notch stuff.

I didn't plan to stop watching it. As I said, I'm loving the drama, but background score is taking me out of it. I'll still continue watching it, but I hope these two directors that people oh so revere (VOS director and Fated Hearts director) take directing 101 classes again, cause I reckon they teach not to let background score feel overpowering or overused.
Some of the mistakes they make just feel very juvenile.. I've already talked about Fated Hearts director's mistakes. VOS director on this drama allowed abrupt change of one background score to another. That is so juvenile and so very Indian daily serial style.

Watched until ep 21.. loving it so far.

I guess my only complaint is overuse of background score.. to the point where they were switching between different scores abruptly, and that's taking me out of the drama.
Another drama I felt the overuse of background score so much that it took me out of the drama was Fated Hearts, but VOS is not as bad as Fated Hearts.

VOS at least lets the dialogue flow without the background score overpowering the dialogue. In Fated Hearts, characters could be seen having a random, ordinary conversation, and the background score plays so loud for no reason at all.
