Very cheesy RomCom and bad acting for the entire cast
"My Eternal Star" is a RomCom about a stiff, control-freak gaming CEO and a cheerful designer. The plot is so stupid, and the acting was mediocre. The production quality is bad with too much bright light, especially in closed-up scenes where the lead actor/actress almost kisses.
The 2nd ML and FM leads are annoying as well. The only good thing about this drama is that it is short, 22 episodes. It could be shorter. I am in 13 episodes already, and the two have not truly kissed yet. They both are incapable of communicating their feeling for each other, so It is very annoying.
I am giving it a 5.0 rating because it is watchable, killing time while I wait for a better Cdrama to be released.
An interesting Mystery Romance Drama but the last 4 episodes were a disappointment
My Lethal Man is a mystery romance drama starting not well-known actors and actresses with backgrounds in supporting roles in other C-dramas.The production quality is so bad; everything is so bright, especially during the kissing scenes. I am not sure why Chinese dramas always do that for cheap quality productions on streaming platforms like iQiyi, Tencent, MangoTV, etc.
I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the drama when the ML tried to solve the 17-year-old car accident that took his family's life. The plot was interesting until the last 4 episodes when things went wrong and stupid.
Even though it has a happy ending, the way it unraveled was so bad, and the acting was not great for either of the entire cast.
The FL does a better job than the ML, and the supporting CPs were not great. Some of the songs in the OST were good.
I am giving it a 6.5 because of the music and the first 20 episodes.
It’s refreshing to see Physical comedy in a RomCom genre
My Uncanny Destiny is a surprising and fun RomCom. I have not seen many good physical comedy-drama from China, so it is refreshing to see one.My first time watching Yan Zi Xian and Zhang Yue Nan in leading roles. They both did a decent job in this drama. The supporting cast was fun too. There are quite a few kissing scenes for the main CP and two supporting CPs.
I find it enjoyable, and there are a few laughable moments. I can't wait to see how Liu Xuan Ming feels when he discovers that Ye Zhao Nan is his enemy and is a woman.
I have watched 16 episodes already and can't wait to see how it reveals in the end. The production quality is not bad either.
I am changing my rating from 7.5 to 7,0 because I did not like the last two episodes.
Love this drama - a slow-burn but a mature and respectful love relationship
I love "Flight to You," and I love actress Seven Tan. I first watched her in "Go Ahead" in 2020 and thought she was a good actress, and I have followed her ever since.I have not watched anything that Wang Kai was in until now. He is a decent and handsome actor. I may check him out again in future drama.
What I like about Flight to You are the following:
- Cheng Xiao and Gu Nanting are very interesting characters, and Seven Tan and Wang Kai played them well.
- It is an interesting story about a female pilot and the scrutiny she has to go through in a male-dominated field. It was great to see how she overcame it.
- Their love story is mature, respectful, and slow-burn, so it was great to see the progression of their relationship.
- I think the drama would be better at 35 episodes, and I didn't like the ending. I was hoping it would show that they got married, but instead, it hinted that they were moving in together. She is off flying while he remains on the ground.
- The production quality of the show is quite good.
Overall, I enjoyed it very much; the acting skills were good, both from the lead actor/actresses and the supporting cast. I give it a 7.8 rating, but I have to choose 7.5 since the site does not support it.
Younger Man and Older Woman Love story is overdone, nothing special.
"Sniper Butterfly" is a modern CDrama starring Michelle Chen and Daniel Zhou. I did not like the story, and it is overdone in its portrayal of the younger man and older woman relationship.Even though the on-screen chemistry between the FL and ML is good, I did not like the pairing of these two actors. The real age gap between the two actors is almost 20 years, even though their characters' age gap may not be as great. Michelle Chen does have a baby face, but the pairing didn't sit well with me personally.
The synopsis is unrealistic, and I expected more conflict between the two characters. Still, their conflict is minimal and immature, given the huge age gap. Overall, it was okay.
Synopsis: When Cen Jin falls into a low point in her life, she receives a call for help from Li Wu, a rural boy she once supported. Li Wu's spirit of self-reliance moves Cen Jin, prompting her to bring Li Wu, who is about to drop out of school and has no one to rely on, to the city for education. Six years later, Li Wu, now a successful professional, returns to the city and reunites with Cen Jin due to work. While he doesn't mention the past on the surface, his feelings of love remain deep inside. Encouraged by Li Wu's sincerity and bravery, Cen Jin chooses to respond to love truthfully.

A refreshing look at modern CDrama with bad guy/good girl RomCom drama.
"Speed and Love" is a modern CDrama starring Esther Yu and He Yu. The story is interesting and cute. Personally, I do not like Esther Yu's dramas because most of the characters she portrays are childish. She used her natural, high-pitched, squeaky voice, which is annoying; however, in this drama, she used a lower-pitched register, which is less irritating. This drama's synopsis is refreshing compared to other typical C-dramas about stern-faced CEOs, contract marriage, or childish Love. This story is unique in its portrayal of a bad boy/good girl dynamic, and it adds depth to the characters of Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu.
Her acting in this drama is better, and she should look for roles with mature love rather than silly or childish characters.
Synopsis: The series revolves around the siblings Jiang Mu, the sheltered and pampered younger sister, and Jin Zhao, the extremely gifted older brother. When Mu is nine years old, their parents get a divorce, and her father and Zhao move to Thailand. As such, Mu and Zhao's lives become two paths that never cross. After learning that her brother is adopted, Mu flies to Thailand alone. When they meet again, the once elegant boy has transformed into a rugged young man hardened by the streets. Zhao is now into boxing and racing, living a life full of wild thrills and danger that is completely unfamiliar to Mu. Undaunted, Mu works to assimilate into the life of Zhao and her father's family. Aligning with her talents, her studies, and life in Thailand are just as splendid, and her enthusiasm and empathy brighten Zhao's life. As Zhao's co-pilot, she is his perfect navigator. Seeing that Zhao is stuck in a quagmire, she decides to pull him out and take him home. When an accident separates the two again, Mu takes on the responsibility of caring for the family while pursuing their shared ambition in aerospace. Many years later, Mu returns to China after graduation. Mu and Zhao reunite again in Nanjing.

No originality, the only thing it is good for is the food, and a few funny scenes
Yummy Yummy Yummy is a historical costume time-travel CDrama starring Wang Ying Lu and Li Yun Rui. The best part about this drama is all the food; it is funny to watch, but nothing extraordinary. It would be better to cut it short to 24 episodes instead of 32. Too many repetitive scenes.Synopsis: The story follows the Shen family, who accidentally arrive in Yong'an City and encounter Lin Yan, a royal official. This chance meeting leads them on an extraordinary journey filled with culinary delights, local traditions, and an unconventional love story. But what twists and turns await them in this remarkable adventure?

Rayzha Alimjan did the best acting job in this drama. Women always endure so much.
Wild Ambition Bloom is a Republican time Cdrama starring Rayzha Alimjan and Tony Yang, spanning from the 1920s to post-WWII.The story focused on Chu Shao Hua, the daughter of the Chu family, portrayed by Rayzha Alimjan. She endures the hardship of being married into the wrong family when her first lover is presumed dead. She was loved by her husband Chen Da Shun, who was killed during a business trip. She was raped by her brother-in-law, who also killed her daughter.
She has to start over and build her own business through her wits and charms. This was the best acting that I have seen from Rayzha Alimjan.
Synopsis: The play tells the story of Chu, a member of a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in the early years of the Republic of China. During her time there, she met three men: Xia Chu, Chen Da Shun, and Wen Zhi Qiu. They did not succumb to the unfair arrangements of the times and fate, and gradually experienced the ups and downs, becoming a bold, steadfast, and trustworthy female national entrepreneur, and finally set her sights on... The story of the rise and fall of a country.

It takes the right woman to bring a Narcissist down. A good watch
Why is He Still Single - is a modern RomCom CDrama starring Wallace Huo and Zhu Zhu about a middle-aged successful interior designer who is quirky yet kind-hearted, commitment-phobic, and does not believe in marriage until he meets his match in Dr. Gu Ye Jia.Zhu Zhu did an excellent job portraying a clueless doctor who is looking for love herself and who becomes entangled in Yu Yu's life. It is cute and funny. The supporting cast is quirky and humorous as well.
Synopsis: A quirky yet kind-hearted man, firmly against marriage, sparks humor and reflection as he navigates life. Despite his eccentricity, he finally meets the woman of his dreams and must decide how to win her heart, proving that no man won't marry, just one who hasn't found the right match yet.

Tragically, he died while rescuing someone who was drowning. She found out that she was pregnant, her biological parents want to rekindle their relationship with her, and her in-laws are controlling and want her to keep the baby. Good scripts about the struggles rural China in 1900s, and Yang Mi best acting job in this drama.
This Thriving Land is a modern Cdrama set in the early 1900s about a daughter of the richest man in the rural Tianniu Village who was kidnapped by bandits and rescued by a farmer's son, Feng Da Jiao. She cut ties with her father, married Feng Da Jiao, and endured hardships for decades, but their love was genuine and pure. This was the best acting job that I have seen from Yang Mi. She has been criticized for her acting ability; this drama is her redemption.
Synopsis: Ning Xiu Xiu, the daughter of the richest man in Tianniu Temple Village, was kidnapped by bandits on her wedding day. Her father, Ning Xue Xiang, was reluctant to sell his land to redeem her, so he married her sister to her childhood sweetheart, Fei Wen Dian. A decent script but bad acting from Qin Lan, she can't portrayed a mother role.
Second Chance is a modern CDrama about a second chance at love starring Qin Lan and Wallace Chung. The script is good, but the acting is suck, especially from Qin Lan.She played Tan Si Ting, a renowned ballet dancer who returned home and learned that a son she had given birth to 12 years earlier was alive. She was terrible at portraying a mom who would fight for any cause to win back her son's relationship with her. Sadly, she failed to deliver the character.
Qin Lan is unmarried in real life, and I don't believe she has any children of her own either, so she doesn't know what it is like to play a mom. If it were me, I would go out of my way to fight the controlling mother-in-law and reclaim the rights of her son. The ending was terrible; it looked like a happy ending, but it was abruptly cut off without any honest interaction with her son.
Synopsis: Renowned ballet dancer Tan Si Ting returns home after retirement, hoping to rekindle her romance with her former love, Feng Rui. However, their reunion is complicated by past misunderstandings and the fact that Feng Rui is now a single father. Meanwhile, a long-time secret admirer of Tan Si Ting remains unwavering in his love for her. As Tan Si Ting and Feng Rui struggle with their unresolved feelings, they find themselves caught in a whirlwind of love, heartbreak, and fate.

Boring Costume drama and wrong pairing for ML/FL, too long and draggy
Fight for Love is a costume C-Drama about Love and redemption starring Victoria Song and Ryan Ding. The plot was okay to watch, and the on-screen chemistry between the FL/ML was not good. Ryan Ding is too charming and cute, and Victoria Song's character did not do the pairing justice. It was boring and draggy. Victoria Song is getting too old to play a lovey-dovey type of character. She does better playing a strong-minded character in modern drama than in costume ones.
Synopsis: Following her father's death in battle and given a mysterious warning from her injured brother, Chu Yu vows to uncover the truth of her family's fate. In the guise of the eldest son's widow, she is married into the doomed Wei family and meets the sole survivor, Wei Yun.
