It is a heart wrenching topic about domestic violent that has good ending.

As You Stood By is a modern K-drama that explores the heartbreaking issue of domestic violence. The victim, Cho Eun Su, has been so much feared and repeatedly beaten up by her toxic husband that her best friend Choi Hui Su can no longer stand by and watch. Together, they plotted and murdered Cho Eun Su's husband.

It is suspenseful and kept you on your feet, but it is also hard to watch because of the domestic violence it portrays.

Synopsis: Eun Su works in sales at a luxury goods retailer in a high-end department store. She has carried the weight of a deep-seated trauma since childhood. Her friend, Hui Su, shares a similar burden; the scars of their pasts haunt both women. Hui Su was once a promising children's book writer, but her career has long since stalled. Now, she is trapped in a nightmarish existence due to the violent abuse of her husband, Jin Pyo. Desperate to escape his cruelty, Hui Su lives in constant fear, unable to break free from his grasp. One day, Eun Su reaches a breaking point and decides to take matters into her own hands. She makes the life-altering decision to save her friend by ending Jin Pyo's life. Together, the two women devise a plan to kill him. As their plan unfolds, Jin So Baek, the powerful CEO of Jingang Firm, becomes aware of their intentions. Sensing an opportunity, he offers his support, becoming a strong ally in their dangerous mission. With his backing, the women feel emboldened. Still, their journey is fraught with peril as they navigate the perilous path ahead.

A good legal drama about aspiring young lawyers who find their individuality along the way.

All Rise is a legal modern drama about a group of interns (6 aspiring lawyers) competing for a job at an elite law firm. They were assigned to the team and worked together on various cases presented to them by their mentors. Each assignment will be graded, and whoever receives the highest score at the end will get the job.

There were several funny scenes as they got to know each other, but also some moments of competition. I like He Lan Dou, who plays the Guo Xiao Yu character, who is funny, caring, and charming among the interns.

The chemistry between the FL/ML is cute. Hu Xian Xu played Jiang Chen, and Zhou Yi Ran played Ren Jia Tong, and both did a good job.

Synopsis: A group of legal interns enters a high-stakes battle for the ultimate job offer. In this fierce jungle of competition, they must discover the truly fulfilling opportunities that resonate with their lives.

Decent story resolve around residents and doctors in an ER department of a local hospital

The White Castle is a medical drama about the lives of residents and doctors as they work to heal people at a local hospital, starring Peng Guan Ying and Tu Song Yan.

The story and characters revolve around doctors with little romance.

Synopsis: On the eve of graduation, Wang Yang Ming, who took reversing heart failure as his mission, had a disagreement with his supervisor in medical experiments, and resolutely decided to switch from scientific research to clinical practice, and successfully joined the emergency department of Ruiren Hospital, which ranked first in the country. Wang Yang Ming's competitive instinct was aroused by his busy life in the emergency department, where he took risks to deal with ventricular fibrillation in the elderly, rescued heatstroke migrant workers, and treated stroke patients, constantly refining his medical skills. At the same time, on the ward, a group named "four masters of emergency medicine" formed, of which Yang Ming is a part, alongside Lu Qing Qi, Zu Wen Da, and Liu Fei. Now four of them, witness each other's growth and change, gain friendship and love, and experience dispersion and separation on their ward.

Good mini stories about the anti-human trafficking policemen as they investigate and solve them.

Sword Rose is a crime drama led by Deng Yan (played by Dilraba Dilmurat) and her team as they investigate and solve multiple cases involving the human trafficking of children.

The acting is okay, but the mini-stories in the drama deal with the ugliness of criminal minds when it comes to children. Some are fortunate, while others are not.

The best acting job in this drama is Zhang Jian Xin, who played Lin Ran's mother, whose daughter, Lin Ran, was kidnapped at a young age.

The chase and evidence collections kept me on my toes. Overall, it is a good drama.

Synopsis: After an emergency rescue thrusts her into the spotlight, police officer Hua Deng Yan is unexpectedly appointed as the new director of Tianhai City’s Anti-Human Trafficking Office. Facing skepticism from her team, including a seasoned former undercover officer, she must prove her capabilities in a high-stakes environment. As the team tackles complex cases of abduction and exploitation, Deng Yan’s determination and leadership begin to shine. Through relentless investigations and growing trust within the unit, they uncover clues pointing to a hidden and far-reaching criminal network. A heart breaking story, and love prevailed. Excellent acting from Vin Zhang and Mao Xiao Tong.

Light Beyond the Reed is a melodrama about a raped victim who is fighting against society and the justice system to bring her predator to court. In the process, not only did she lose her job, but she also suffered a mental breakdown. Her family also dealt with the blow of the case when she lost it in court due to insufficient evidence.

The good news is that it has a happy ending. Vin Zhang and Mao Xiao Tong were phenomenal in this drama. Their acting was fantastic; this is the first role where I've seen Vin Zhang act greatly, compared to his other typical idol roles. Mao Xiao Tong was also awesome, and the two of them played a convincing couple who supported each other wholeheartedly throughout this terrible ordeal.

The supporting cast was awesome as well, especially
Liu Dan, who played the dominating and love-to-hate mom. She acted very well, especially when she had a stroke after Ye Si Bei lost the case.

Synopsis: An ordinary woman with an ordinary life and an ordinary husband. Until one night, her husband forgot to pick her up at the wine party she was attending, leading to her being raped. But because she was afraid to be blamed for having drunk, to be blamed for having worn a dress, to be accused of being unfaithful by her husband, and fearful of all the persecutions that she would endure if she talked, she chose to keep silent. But unexpectedly, her husband noticed her tears and her suffering. Unexpectedly, again, he took her hand, took the phone, and said, "Let's call the police and press charges." This is the story of an injured woman and her husband, who will stand on the road with her to ask for justice. The road will be long and bumpy, but despair will always come to an end.

It is a cheesy but watchable RomCom that involved time-travel concept. No originality.

Summit of Our Youth is a time-travel Romantic Comedy starring Sun Zhen Ni and Cheng Jing Ke. It is a cute and watchable RomCom, and the on-screen chemistry between the main characters was good.

The plot was mediocre, lacking originality, but it was still watchable.

Synopsis: In her past life, Gu Xue Jiao failed her college entrance exams due to her "love-obsessed" mindset. After years of struggling in the workplace, she remained a bottom-tier outsourcing employee. She even became the primary target of her "ruthless boss", Lin Zhi Hua, during a round of layoffs. When Gu Xue Jiao confronted Lin Zhi Hua, an unexpected twist sent her back in time to her third year of high school. Given a second chance, Gu Xue Jiao learns from her previous mistakes. Determined to prioritize her studies over romance, she transforms from being "love-focused" to "career-focused". Awesome Chinese version of superhero costume drama. Song Yi and Ryan Cheng were awesome.

Shadow Love is a Wuxia costume drama starring Song Yi, Ryan Cheng, Bi Wen Jun, and Shi Ge. This is the year for Ryan Cheng. So far, I have enjoyed his acting abilities in the dramas "The Legend of Female General" and "Footprints of Change." He portrayed each character very well, especially in this one, where he was loving, caring, and childlike, possessing a superpower that came to rescue General Zhenbei (played by Song Yi) whenever she was in trouble.

Their on-screen chemistry was cute, and the fighting scenes were awesome. I really enjoyed this drama, and it is refreshing to see; it's like a Chinese version of Superman or Spiderman.

Synopsis: Li Shuang, a female general of Taijin, takes in an amnesiac man she finds by chance and names him Jin An. Jin An accompanies Li Shuang wholeheartedly, and the two secretly fall in love. However, when Jin An remembers that he is actually the prince of an enemy state, the two devoted lovers have no choice but to take up arms against each other. Jin An also has another identity as a supernatural warrior named Xuan Yi Ke, who remembers Li Shuang, loves her unconditionally, and vows to protect her at all costs. Jaded by war, they decide to join forces to resolve the crisis and uphold justice.

Intelligence and smart wit in taking revenge. Xiao Zhan was phenomenal

The Legend of Zang Hai is a costume drama that involves intelligence and manipulation on the part of Zang Hai/Zhi Nu to solve the murders of his family members.

Xiao Zhan did a phenomenal job portraying these two characters, demonstrating good wit, intelligence, and a high EQ. The other leads also did a good job, especially Huang Jue. His character was eventually betrayed by Zhi Nu, his most trusted confidant.

The entire ensemble cast did a good job. Master Gao Ming betrayed Zhi Nu, but eventually sacrificed his life to save Zhi Nu from Zhao Bing Wen (who rescued Zang Hai and raised him with the help of others), but was killed by Zang Hai's smartness.

Very minimal romance between Xiao Zhan's character and Zhang Jing Yi's character.

Synopsis: Zang Hai was originally the son of the Imperial Astronomer. However, when he was young, he witnessed the murder of his entire family. Deciding on the path of revenge, Zang Hai withdrew from the scene temporarily and began training himself by learning construction and the art of war. Ten years later, he returned to the capital as an unrecognizable figure and became, through mentoring, the adviser to his enemy, Duke Ping Jin. From the Lord's manor to the court, from an ordinary advisor to becoming the chief minister of the imperial cabinet, Zang Hai struggled in the face of treacherous political plots and battles, finally getting a chance to kill his enemy. However, he soon discovered that not everything was as it appeared and that he had just scratched the surface of something much bigger. Facing an unknown road ahead, Zang Hai teamed up with his beloved friends to overcome and uncover the conspiracy, defending their country.

Good Fighting scenes but the story was draggy and boring; especially imperial court scenes

The Legend of Female General is a Wuxia costume drama starring Zhou Ye and Ryan Cheng. Their on-screen chemistry was awesome, and it was the first time I watched Ryan Cheng perform as a male lead. He is good and a talented actor. His acting and demeanor as General Feng Yun were good, better than Zhou Ye's character.

The reason I did not give a high rating is that it is a bit draggy, and it took a long time for her to be promoted to join the imperial court. There were too many imperial court scenes that were too boring to watch. The fighting scenes were choreographed perfectly, which I enjoyed the most, and the side kicks were awesome.

Synopsis: To protect her family's noble title, He Yan, the eldest daughter of the He family, is forced to don a mask and pose as the family's eldest son, "He Ru Fei." As a young girl, He Yan first meets the brilliant scholar Xiao Jue at Xianchang Academy. Determined to escape her family's fate, she leaves the academy and heads to the battlefield. Years later, He Yan returns home as a celebrated hero, only to be betrayed by her family when her brother He Ru Fei reappears. Surviving the treachery, He Yan assumes a new identity as He Yan, the daughter of a city gate officer, and disguises herself as a man to join the military in Yezhou, vowing to reclaim everything that was taken from her. In Yezhou, He Yan befriends the gentle and refined Chu Zhao and once again crosses paths with Xiao Jue. However, Xiao Jue suspects He Yan of being a spy and constantly tests her. Despite his suspicions, He Yan clings to Xiao Jue and proves her abilities by becoming the top soldier in Yezhou's defense force. Through various trials, including the Sun family incident, the Ji Yang Princess affair, and the battle to defend Rundu, the two face life and death together and gradually come to understand each other's true feelings.

The suspend keep me engaged as it unveiled the corruption of high ranking legal officials

In the Name of Justice is an awesome crime/legal drama about corruption and its cover-up by high-ranking officials in the justice department. It features a seasoned ensemble cast starring Zhang Yi, Li Guangjie, Jiang Xin, Liu Jia, and Feng Jia Yi.

The acting was good, as was the pacing and the script, which slowly unveiled the bad guys, including Hong Liang's family member. It kept me engaged as the story unfolded.

Synopsis: In Haidong Province, prosecutors uncover a false accusation against Zhang Wen Qing while reviewing the "Wan Group Gang Case," exposing deep corruption among judicial officials. Teaming up with law enforcement and courts, they use whistleblower leads to investigate the "213 Shooting Case." Don't waste your time with this drama. TenCent can't do short series like iQiyi

Hide Games is a short crime drama consisting of only 24 episodes, each 15 minutes long, starring Wallace Huo, Bosco Wong, and Adi Kan.

The drama was so confusing to watch, and Wallace Huo was playing identical twin characters (Han Xu/Wang Yu). The Wang Yu character didn't appear until the last 4-5 episodes, and he was a bad guy.

The acting was okay, but the script and the plot were not good.

Synopsis: Set in an alternate reality, the story unravels around a mystery case—the murder of a narcotics officer. Packed with nonstop thrills, the series delves deep into the clash between good and evil. Beyond the excitement of piecing together every clue, it explores the complexity of human nature as shocking truths gradually come to light.

A watchable mature RomCom of a blended families.

Double Happiness is a mature Romantic Comedy about a widower who becomes interested in a romantic relationship with a divorcee. Each of them comes with their own baggage, including in-laws and an ex-husband, as they navigate their complex family dynamics while maintaining their courtship.

The acting from the male and female lead actors is mediocre, but some comedic elements make the drama watchable. The ending is predictable with a happy ending.

Synopsis: When her unfaithful ex-husband and ex-best friend reappear, single mother Xu Kai Xin rises to the challenge - protecting her children, reclaiming her home, and rebuilding her life. Historical CSI genre is over saturated that it lost its originality and storyline.

Coroner's Diary is a historical CSI drama starring Landy Li and Ao Rui Peng. The acting and some of the CSI cases were interesting. Still, the pace and repetitiveness of various cases made the drama seem draggy and uninteresting to watch by the midpoint. The romance was quick, but it developed into a slow burn afterward. It is watchable but not engaging.

This type of genre is another one that has been done too many times in Cdrama, to the point where it has lost its originality. I may not revisit it again in the future, like the Xian Xia and Republican Era genres.

Synopsis: The story follows Shen Wan, the daughter of Shen Yi, a high-ranking official of the Supreme Court, whose entire family is massacred after being implicated in the Prince of Jin case. Shen Wan escapes to Jingzhou by disguising herself as Qin Wan, the Ninth Lady of the Qin family, where she learns all about medicine and how to perform autopsies. She not only excels at healing the sick and saving lives but is also skilled in her professional role as a coroner, investigating crimes. During her investigations, Qin Wan meets Yan Chi, the crown prince of King Rui. Yan Chi is determined to clear the Prince of Jin’s name, an ambition that aligns with Qin Wan’s own mission to vindicate her father. The two return to the capital together, solving a series of strange and mysterious cases along the way. After returning, the discovery of a skeleton leads to the reopening of the Prince of Jin case. Another good iQiYi short series about crime drama. Lou Jin and Wang Zi Wen were awesome

Beloved is a crime drama starring Luo Jin, Wang Zi Wen, and Yu Nan. There were a few twists in the crime drama that I didn't expect, as Luo Jin portrayed double characters, playing twin brothers. One was blind due to jealousy that his old classmate tried to kill him, was kind and gentle, whereas his twin brother is more ambitious and conniving.

The acting ensemble was good, especially Lou Jin and Wang Zi Wen. iQiyi short series always do well.

Synopsis: At the turn of the century, due to the water storage requirements of water conservancy projects, a small riverside town was about to be submerged. People were in full swing in the construction of a new city and population migration. In the summer of 2002, Dongjiang City experienced heavy rainfall. A bizarre murder case came to the police's attention. A dead lover and a disappeared and resurrected husband were both the "murderer" and the "dead." Finally, under the unremitting investigation of the police, a past that had been long forgotten was brought to light. The complexity of human nature has often blinded many people, but the truth remains unshaken. Everything you can see is sunshine.
