If you are looking for something short to binge watch, it is not a bad drama.

Circle of Love is a short web drama that has 24 episodes and 12 minutes each episode. It took place in the Republican era when Gu Meng lost everything, family and fortune due to a fire she believes was started by her husband, Hong Ye.

Gu Meng took revenge, but in the process, she had multiple amnesias where she forgot who she was. I don't know why she stuck with Hong Ye when he abused her physically and also caused her to have a miscarriage with their baby.

I did not like the happy ending; it could have ended when she shot him several times. The acting is mediocre, and there are many intimate and risque scenes that I am surprised passed the censorship in China.

Overall it is watchable, but nothing to ring home. I give it a 6.0 rating.

Dysfunctional family drama with strong bonds among the cousins. Good acting but bad script

Take Us Home is a contemporary drama about three cousins from the Zheng family (Dong Ni, Xi Jue, Nan Yin.) Dong Ni is the rebellious older sister with two divorces in her hand with two kids. She gave up her raising her son with her second husband, and she grew up in a dysfunctional family with domestic abuse.

Xi Jue is an adopted son who witnessed her mom commit suicide at a young age. He was adopted into the Zheng family and felt obligated to stick around all around Mr. Nice Guy and a sacrificial one to bind the family together, even though at the cost of his happiness. He is nice but also very annoying because of his loyalty. He is a nice guy that he puts the needs of others above himself, and he can't seem to hold on to his relationships.

Nan Yin is a spoiled kid who loves by her parents and cousins and is childish. She didn't grow up until a crisis happened in her family.

I enjoyed the drama until episode 28. Then it started getting stupid and annoying, especially taking in Xu Hui's daughter, who is dying of leukemia and is the daughter of the guy who embezzles the family money.

I understand it is nice to help people, but not realistic in real life, especially if they are the ones that hurt your family. I got so frustrated with episodes 30-32.

I downgraded my rating from 7.0 to 5.5 because of the latest development in the storyline. The stupid ending, the last two episodes were not needed, where Xi Jue punched the doctor and was on the verge of going to jail.

It a suspenseful crime drama with good acting, but it was too draggy, long, and boring

"Who is He" is a police crime drama in which Wei Guo Ping and his team are trying to solve the serial murder case to the medical school dismemberment case that spans 8 years.

The drama started interesting and engaging as they tried to solve the case and discovered the dismemberment parts of the last victim. However, as the story progresses, it gets boring and too draggy to solve the murder case.

I am watching ep 16 now and about to lose patience with this drama. It would be much better if it ended in 15-20 episodes instead of 24.

Zhang Yi is also being typed cast as well (in my opinion) because he has been playing a policeman in many recent dramas like (The Knockout, this one, Be Reborn, and Reborn). He cannot act in other genres.

I finally finished the drama and found out who is the bad guy, the drama could easily cut out 5 episodes, but instead, it dragged on too long. Overall, I don't enjoy it as much as others. I am giving it a 7.0, which is a generous rating.

Heart Warming movie based on true story that worth watching

Let Life Be Beautiful is a good movie; I am a sucker for a film based on a true story. The story is about a young Wang Xinyang, diagnosed with leukemia, and how his parents supported and loved him.

Even though it does not have a happy ending, it shows his triumph and optimism during the treatment and makes a difference in his friends' lives.

Good story and acting, from the cast, and I am giving it an 8.0 rating. It is hard as parents to see your kid goes through a health issue and not much you can do about it. It is so sad that they have to sell their home in order to pay for his treatment, but in the end, he cannot be saved. A tear-jerking movie, so has your tissues ready.

Love this drama, especially the side characters, amazing cinematography

Meet Yourself is a melodrama in Yunan as Xu Hong Dou (played by Crystal Liu) went there to find herself after the death of her best friend Chen Nan Xing played by Janice Wu.

The drama has many known guest roles and a supporting cast. The acting of the entire ensemble was excellent, even though the flow of the drama is quite slow, but I love it.

I love all the side characters; each is uniquely portrayed by the supporting actors/actresses. Especially Granny Xie, played by Estelle Wu. She is a supporting yet firm grandma to Xie Zhi Yao, played by Li Xian.

The Yunan community not only supports each other, but they also make their guests feel welcome and belong in their society.

The cinematography is so beautiful that it makes me want to visit Yunan one of these days. I enjoy this drama and would recommend people to watch it.

Overall, I am giving it an 8.5 rating.

A decent RomCom but it moved a little bit slow and repetitive dialogues

"Hi Venus" is a RomCom drama about an encounter between a Pediatrician and a hospital president where they end up liking each other.

This is my 7th drama with Liang Jie, and I adore her. I loved her in "You Are My Destiny," "Mr. Honesty," "The Day of Becoming You," "Side Story of Fox Volant," and now this drama. She is a good actress with a good range.

This is my 3rd drama with Joseph Zeng, and This one is the best of his acting, whereas the other two were costume dramas that I ended up dropping (Rebirth For You and Heroes.) I think he is not a good actor compared to Liang Jie.

Their onscreen chemistry is okay in this drama, and I like the 2nd CP as well. Overall, I am giving it a 7.5 rating. There were too many repetitive dialogues about the progression of their relationship.

A cute Young Love RomCom - worthy to binge-watch

I was not planning to watch "Time and Him are Just Right" at first, but since there was nothing good in CDrama lane recently, I decided to binge-watch it.

To my surprise, it is not bad. It is a cute story about young love and their ups/downs during their relationship from high school to college and professional life through misunderstanding and how they persevered.

I have not watched these young actors before, and it seems they are newbies to the industry; their acting skills are mediocre. The second CP did a better job of acting than the main CP.

Overall, I enjoyed the drama, giving it a 7.5 rating.

Love Light-on Series from iQiYi - Homesick is a good suspense drama.

Homesick is another light-on series from iQiyi, and I like it a lot. This was the 6th or 7th light-on series, and I was not disappointed. Most of them are good and decent drama, and Homesick was no exception.

I like the storyline a lot, and there were a few suspenseful moments the characters in the drama are good. The only thing I didn't like was the police department seemed to be useless until the end, which is typical both in eastern and western dramas.

The lead actress, Zhang Zi Feng, has a lot of potentials to be a good actress. The supporting cast in this drama is awesome, and I didn't expect Wang Yan Hui to play a bad guy because he normally played the good guy.

He did a good job fooling everyone except his wife and Chen Youxi characters. He played the role very well; he should get some awards. Overall, I really enjoy it. I am giving it an 8.0 rating.

Love Love Love - Who Rules the World!!!

"Who Rules The World," I have been anticipating and waiting for this drama to air, and it is finally here.

I have already watched up to 12 episodes and love, love, and love it. I am a fan of Zhao Lusi, so anything, she is mostly good. Pairing her with handsome Yang Yang not only boots up the hype, but it is lovely to watch both of them on screen.

The on-screen chemistry is undeniably good, and their BTS interactions make me want them to both dates in real life.

They are so cute and adorable, and Zhao Lusi is a better actress than Yang Yang. I would love both of them to cooperate again in a modern drama where they play doctors.

Historical/Costume dramas are not my genre, but I am a fan of both, so I am watching it. The flow of the story is good, and so are the costumes, cinematography, and OST of the show.

I love this drama, and I am giving it 9.0 out of 10 ratings right now and may change it after I have finished the drama.

I enjoy drama where the center focuses on either a love story or solid female friendship. Crossroad Bistro is one of those stories centered on the lives of five women and the up-and-down that they have gone through in life.

The story unfolds many complicated live situations that each went through and the support they have for each other. Sometimes, it is frustrating, sad, emotional, but overall, it is a good story. I didn't know that it touches on the pandemic as well, so it was a nice element of surprises.

The cast (both lead actresses and support actors/actresses) are pretty good as well. Most of the time, the story flows well, but I have to skip some of the music gathering scenes where I found it quite dull and did not flow well with the story compared to other scenes.

Talk about bad plots, another unbearable firefighter drama this year from CDrama land.

Bright Eyes in the Dark - is yet another drama this year about firefighters. I am getting picky, and this one is a bomb, just like Fireworks of My Heart. The only firefighter drama I could complete was "A Date with the Future" for this year with William Chan and Zhang Ruo Nan.

This one is so bad on many levels, even though it has a well-known supporting cast like Tang Xiao Tian, Wang Zi Qi, Zhang Ling He, and Wu Gang.
- In real life, having a reality show with ordinary people to go put out fires with firefighters is not realistic. Talk about liability issues.
- Wang Zi Qi played a bad character in this drama and the worst acting I have seen of him. Maybe he is better in a RomCom type of role.
- Johnny Huang is better at playing cop/detective. His character is weak in this drama despite being the fire department director.
- His on-screen chemistry with the FL (Zhang Jing Yi) is non-existent on many levels. They both appeared awkward, and no spark between them.
- It is not realistic for firemen not to have time to see family. The scriptwriter and director wanted to create tension and drama for this series but failed to deliver it.
- I have watched 24 episodes as background noise to kill time since nothing is good airing for CDrama after Hidden Love.

I invested enough time in this drama and am dropping it. I give it a 4.5 rating for bad plots and acting.

IMO, S2 should not been made. Lack of originality, boring, and dragging.

Under the Skin S2 is a crime drama that starts with Tian Jian Ci and Jin Shi Jia. It picks up where S1 left off, as the team investigates and solves several crimes with new characters and cases.

Season 2 should not have been made because the storyline was bad and draggy. There were too many cases to solve, so it had 28 episodes instead of the shorter episodes in S1.

The dynamic of the BL CP was not as connected and well respected as in S1. They introduced the third ML into S2 to create a conflict between the two MLs, which made the dynamic and communication even more awkward, and the ending cliffhanger was not good.

It was boring and dragging, and I had to watch it at 2.0 speed to bypass some of the dragging episodes. I did not like S2 at all. Any sequel is never as good as the original.

Synopsis: The second season will continue the core of the story of the first season of "Painting Color and Seeing People's Hearts" and understand the complexity of human nature through the outline of the portrait. The Beijiang squad, composed of simulation portraitist Shen Yi, criminal police captain Du Cheng and others, will continue to solve the human puzzle in the second season and chase the real culprit of the case.

Not an exciting plot with mediocre acting from the leads, and bad acting from supporting cast.

Forever Love is a short web Cdrama about a rich young heiress, Lin Xin Tong, who is betrayed by her boyfriend, Chi Shan, and her best friend, Xia Yu Wei.

Her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, and they are scheming together to get her inheritance to transfer to her boyfriend, Chi San, after her father's death, where she was temporarily blind by the incident.

Qin Mo Yao is a brilliant medical student who succeeds in everything he does. He is handsome, appears sharp, cold, and mysterious, and is willing to do everything to protect Lin Xin Tong and help her in the shadows.

The onscreen chemistry between Chen Fang Tong and Dai Gao Zheng is not bad. Apparently, this is their second collaboration together. They were in Maid's Revenge before, and it was also a short web drama. I didn't watch that one.

The story is nothing special for this drama, but I have watched 22 episodes since it was short. I intend to finish it. I give it a 5.0 rating.

A decent drama about life struggles and how to overcome them in a competitive city of Beijing.

"All the Way to the Sun" is a melodramatic drama about two besties who graduated from law school and entered the working world. They are both facing life struggles with love and finance and how they overcome them.

I love Wang Yang; he is a seasoned actor who acts well both in Main Role and the support role. I have not seen him in a drama where his character is romantically involved with a young person. In this drama, he is in love with Li MuJia, who is almost 20 years younger than him. Their differences should not have worked because they are at different stages of their lives. Let's see how their love story progresses.

The drama also touched on human greed, where Mujia's best friend Tian Rong was so consumed with real estate investment and ignored the risks involved. She ended up in bankruptcy and had to start over, including covering the debt incurred by her father-in-law.

Mujia eventually left the law firm after her manager decided to leave and move out of the country. Mujia embarked on a landscape start-up and struggled to get investors to invest in the company. Eventually, she overcame it, and the ending shows that she and Li Guang are getting back together after a long breakup.

It is a drama about life and its curve balls and how Mujia and Tian Rong deal with the struggles and overcome them as they mature and work hard to make it in Beijing. Not bad acting, and I enjoyed it and gave it a 7.5 rating.

It is a hypnotism crime drama that is unrealistic. Too long and draggy.

"Desire Catcher" is a crime drama about the world of hypnosis, which is unrealistic in real life.

The plot is about solving crime by cooperating with the true genius in the field of hypnotism, Feing Ping (played by Zheng Ye Cheng), and the lead officer, Lou Fei (played by Xin Yun Lai)

This is the second crime-related drama with Zheng Ye Cheng as a lead. I was not impressed with it. He is better in historical wuxia drama than modern drama. His acting ability in modern dramas was not as engaging and luring. I watched him in a RomCom called "Love Under the Full Moon," it was not that good either.

I would give a higher rating if the drama were cut to 12-16 episodes. Twenty-four episodes were too long and draggy, and the bad guy was reviewed, and it did not show how he learned hypnosis. He was self-fish and a bad person and had people stupidly follow him. It took the police too long and too dumb to find him. The ending is so stupid. I am giving it a 5.5 rating and being generous about it.
