Missing Grandma was fresh idea, initially but gone wrong after episode 7.

"Grandma's New World" is a drama about a grandmother who ran away after the death of her husband and stayed as a widower to support and provide for her daughter and granddaughter.

The idea was fresh, like Forrest Gump, where at the start it was interesting, but then it got dull and draggy after that.

She has been gone for 5 years, and her daughter and sister did not bother to look for her. With many things that she did and the internet news broadcasts, the daughter, granddaughter, and sister did not even bother to look for her until she accidentally caught wind of information about her. As such, Dou Qi is accompanied by Grandma's twin sister on a journey to find Grandma.

I was engaged in the drama at first until it reached about episode 6 or 7; it went downhill. I watched episodes 8-17 on high-speed 2.0 to bypass it quickly. I am in the last episode, 18, and it still has not shown whether they are returning her.

It showed that her family did not care about her and was irresponsible. I am disappointed in this drama. I had high hope initially because the idea was fresh, but the director and the script did not do justice to this drama. It could easily be done in 10-12 episodes instead of 18.

I am giving it a 5.0 rating because of the bad script.

It was a slow start crime drama, but it gotten better in the last 2 episodes.

iQiyi light on series has great dramas, and "The Long Night" is one of them. Originally, I planned to drop it after 8-9 episodes because I felt the story was disorganized. The switching back and forth between the past and present timeline made it difficult to follow.

The acting of the entire ensemble was exceptional. It does not need 12 episodes; cutting it short to 10 would be better. Some of the scenes from the past were repetitive. The script was good as it revealed and unfolded the corruption of police leaders who turned blind eyes to the killing of a professor and the raping of young girls.

It took dedicated and honest policemen to sacrifice their lives to find the truth, even serving jail for their misdemeanors. The last two episodes were the best, and I was glad I stuck around for it.

I am giving this drama an 8.0 rating for acting and good script.

The plot is too boring for me, and too much propaganda and nationalism.

Enlighten Your Life is about Yugoslav nuclear power expert Lehmann came to inspect the nuclear power plant in China in 1986.

I watched about 12 episodes and lost interest because the drama's subject is not something I am interested in. In addition, it is also so much propaganda about the nationalism of China and wants to do good and proud of building and entering nuclear power plants.

It also shows the dynamic of family conflict between Ye's family, the father and son relationship with his adopted son Lin Qi. It does not have English subtitles either, so I don't think I will finish this drama.

I am dropping it and give it a 6.5 rating.

I maybe a minority in this review, but this Xianxia gone bad from episode 11 onward. Dropping it.

Till the End of the Moon is one of the most anticipated Xianxia Cdrama of 2023, starting with Leo Luo, Bai Lu as the main CP, and Chen Du Ling and Deng Wei as the 2nd CP.

Xianxia genre is not my thing, but I like Leo Luo and Bai Lu in Love is Sweet because their onscreen chemistry in that drama was off the chart. I am watching this Xianxia drama because of them. The good things so far about this drama are the production quality is so good, the CGI, and the costumes.

I enjoyed the first 10 episodes, but it went downhill for me from episodes 11-16 because of the fighting scenes and characters of Ming Yi and Sang Jiu. It took f***ing 5 episodes to fight between good and evil. These 5 episodes were confusing and had no linkage to Tantai Jin and Li Su Su characters thus far.

What's up with the asteroids and all the gods? Ultimately, they could not win over the devil, and all the gods and Ming Yi died. It was lame that Sang Jiu located and rescued him by transporting him into a tiny dragon, wtf.

I am so disappointed and unsure if I want to suffocate myself to continue with this drama. It is 40 episodes long and last an hour for each episode. Too much time to be wasted on a horrible script with stupid fillers. Grrr...

In addition, Chen Du Ling is a one-dimensional actress; I wish they would cast someone else better. I watched AvenueX ranting about how bad this drama is, and I agreed with her. I will not waste my precious time with it, even when I like Leo Luo and Bai Lu's acting abilities.

I am giving it a 4.5 rating.

It's great to see a drama that deal with sexual harassment in China. Excellent acting and story.

"Imperfect Victim" is a story about a sexual harassment case that leads to a rape case, further leading to a big corporation, its employees, and different people like lawyers/prosecutors.

It stars Zhou Xun as Lin Kan, Liu Yi Jun as Cheng Gong, and Jelly Lin as Zhao Xun. I enjoyed the drama and was frustrated by episodes 1-15 because the imperfect victim did not speak up about being sexually harassed and/or even raped.

The lawyer was not helping Zhao Xun initially because she was defending Cheng Gong; in the latter half of the drama, she leaned toward Zhao Xun and another domestically violated woman whose lover was a whistleblower. He witnessed the sexual harassment that Zhao Xun endured under the control of Cheng Gong.

The entire ensemble acted excellently, particularly Elaine Zhong, who played Detective Yan Ming. She believes in the victim Zhao Xun, whom no one else did.

This drama must be filmed during the Covid Pandemic 2020 because everyone wears masks. Zhao Yun's courage helped Lin Kan face up to her sexual harassment past and works to defend women in sexual harassment and domestic violent cases.

I really enjoy this drama and give it an 8.5 rating. Highly recommended.

Why bother with airing this trashy drama with bad plot and bad acting. Don't waste your time.

"Got a Crush on You" is a rom-com drama, but there was no drama. After I had invested my valuable time in watching 8 episodes, I decided to drop it and not waste any more of my time. I should have dropped it sooner. It is a time killer for me while waiting for The Last Immortal to be broadcast.

This drama started by the main CP, Xu Kai Cheng, and Gulnezer Bextiyar, who cannot act imo
1. Who would give up a successful doctor career to own a shop that sells women's lingerie and also work as a doctor in the rescue mission?
2. Xu Kai Cheng's character is a stupid and childish man regarding courtship.
3. I like the 2nd CP better than the main one.
4. All they did was bickering and jealous about stupid things.

Why bother with airing this kind of trashy drama? I give it a 4.5 rating because of the stupid and unrealistic plot.

Don't waste your time. Nothing special about this drama. Boring as hell.

You Are My Secret is a modern business drama about Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng. In it, they enter a fake marriage to avoid being pressured by their parents into getting married. They worked together in the same company, so they had to hide their relationship from their co-workers.

I dropped it after 13 episodes because it was so slow and draggy. Miles Wei is being cast to play the same role. His onscreen chemistry with the FL was not great, either.

The script was so boring, and the acting did not excite me to continue.

Synopsis: The lobby manager, Tu Xiao Ning, who works on the first floor of Huayuan Tower, is in a crucial probation period. Ji Yu Heng, a talented young man working on the seventeenth floor of the tower, is a rising star in the business. They share a common desire to get married as soon as possible, and this is where two parallel lines intersect. In Xiao Ning's eyes, Yu Heng exceeds expectations as a marriage partner. In Yu Heng's eyes, the youthful Xiao Ning once illuminated his life, and marrying her is his only firm choice. As the two muster the courage to establish their marital relationship, Yu Heng unexpectedly becomes Xiao Ning's superior. Through a twist of fate, these childhood friends from ten years ago are in a dual relationship as colleagues and newlyweds. They work together to explore the meaning of marriage and life, a journey many of us can relate to.

My Reviews:
1. This drama is so bad and boring. The plot is stupid, and the main CP's acting did not excite me enough to continue.
2. It's a typical genre that Miles Wei has been in, where he plays a nice and lovable guy.
3. The onscreen chemistry between the Main CP is non-existent.
4. I have watched 13 episodes and am dropping it because it is boring.

Overall, not good. I give it a 4.5 rating.

Too draggy and boring to continue after 12 episodes, dropping it.

"Stay Young Stay Passion" is yet another republican era melodrama about three siblings who were separated at young ages after their parents were murdered. They were brought up by 3 different families and tried to find and reunite with each other and avenge their parents' deaths.

I watched 12 episodes, and the cinematography is good, but the acting is okay. The storyline is draggy and boring, so I am dropping this drama.

I used to like Zhang Han's acting and dramas, but lately, after Sunshine of My Life, his other dramas were okay and not as good like:
- One Boat, One World
- Farewell to Arm
- Gentlemen of East 8th received a lot of backlash.

I am giving this drama a 5.0 rating.

Another flop Xian Xia drama even though it may have good actors. It was slow and boring.

The Legend of ShenLi is a typical Xian Xia melodrama about the Immortal and mortal worlds. It has fantasy elements with good and evil. It has good actors (Zhao Liying and Lin Geng Xin), but it is a flop (in my opinion) because the storyline is so boring after 12 episodes that I could no longer engage or watch it further.

My Reviews:
- Yet another predictable Xian Xia drama about the demons and heavenly realms.
- I love ZLY, but this drama did not lure me. I have watched 12 episodes already and am not convinced I should continue.
- The first 7 episodes were good, but it went downhill when she returned to the demon realm.

I am dropping this drama and giving it a 6.0 rating for a bad script.

Why would someone want to produce and direct this drama? So bad in many levels.

Step By Step Love is a RomCom drama starting with Zhao Zhi Wei and Lu Yang Yang. I wonder why someone would want to direct and produce this drama. The story is so stupid, and the entire cast's acting was horrible, especially the FL actress. She cannot act and only has a one-face expression when mad, furious, and confused.

Her character is clueless and annoying. After 10 episodes, I can no longer watch it. 2024 has been disappointing for rom-coms, costume XianXia, and Wuxia dramas. They are all boring and unbearable to watch.

Synopsis: It tells the story of the cold company President Lu Chen Yang, who is a cruel revenge machine full of calculations to make his opponent pay the price. He finally meets his opponent, the daughter of a desperate rich family, Qianjin Bu Ran. When a hunter falls in love with his prey, all the hatred in his heart turns soft.

My Reviews:
1. The FL is annoying and can't act.
2. The ML acting is mediocre.
3. The story needs to be revised. I may drop it when better dramas are airing.
4. The grandma was mean, and all she did was yell at everyone.

I am dropping it and giving it a 4.0 rating for bad script and acting.

Low-budget Romcom with bad script and mediocre acting. Good thing it is short.

A low-budget Romcom is about a young couple with severe insomnia due to a horrible event that occurred when they were kids that caused amnesia. They encountered each other again as adults, discovered their past through hypnosis, and fell in love.

The script is mediocre, and the same goes for the acting of the entire cast, but the ML is worse. The good thing is that it is only 24 episodes with 30 minutes per episode; hence it was not bad to binge through and fast forward some parts.

I give it a 5.0 rating because of bad acting, bad script, and bad production quality.

Funny Wuxia/Fantasy drama that is enjoyable, but stupid ending.

Historical costume fantasy is not my genre, so I ended up dropping most of them after watching a few episodes (i.e., the Blue Whisper, Immortal Samsara, Song of the Moon, etc., to name a few). Surprisingly, I liked "The Starry Love" until the last two episodes, which I believe was unnecessary and stupid.

Ye Tan was doing so well then, stupidly, she allowed Su Zhi to take her to resurrect Dongqiu and sacrificed herself for the peace and prosperity of the four realms. So stupid; it could have ended with episode 38 when she chose to forgive her father-in-law and figure out how to bring her sister back to life, but no. I was so disappointed with the ending.

Her father ended up losing both of his precious daughters; I was going to give it an 8.5 rating, but instead, I downgraded it to 7.5 because of the stupid ending. Overall, I enjoy it.

Don't waste your time with this drama - Stupid Plot

Accidentally Meow on You - After watching 7 episodes, I am dropping this drama. The plot is stupid, and I could not believe that Xing Zhao Lin and Hu Bing Qing took on this project.

Xing Zhao Lin is being typed cast as well. He has been playing the same cold, arrogant CEO who gave his employee a hard time and eventually fell in love with them.

I hope his future projects will be something different to expand his acting skills, similar to Hu Bing Qing.

I am giving this drama a 4.0 rating because I like the actor and actress but not this stupid story.

It has time travel element but the plot is too dull and too boring to continue wasting my time.

Initially, I was not interested in watching "Winter Night" since there was nothing too exciting going on in Cdrama after Hidden Love (which I love), so I decided to try this drama. I have watched 12 episodes on Prime Video. I was so disappointed with the plot, and this was not the best drama for Qiao Xin (Bridgette Qiao). The character she played in this role was not good, and it downgraded her acting ability.

I liked her better in previous dramas like (The Autumn Balad, Dream Garden, You Complete Me, and The Ordinary Glory). Still, I did not like her character Zheng Da Qian in this drama.

Her onscreen chemistry with Kiddo Ma was not good because I don't like his character either. It is time travel, but it was confusing, and too much dysfunctional going on between her and her friends and family that it was hard to watch.

I am dropping it and giving it a 4.5 rating. I can no longer stand to continue to watch the same bickering that is going on in each episode.

A horrible fantasy drama and Yang Yang can't act. No sequel Please.

The Immortal Ascension is a fantasy costume drama based on an Anime starring Yang Yang and Gina Jin. I like these two actors; however, this drama was a waste of my time, and I concluded that Yang Yang can't really act. He has the same facial expression for seriousness, emotion, or humor.

I invested my time watching up to 22 episodes and was hoping the romance between his character and Gina Jin's character would take place, but it didn't. I became so frustrated while watching it, and each episode contains numerous instances of his inner thoughts, which made it confusing and annoying.

I also found that this year, numerous historical costume dramas were released back-to-back from all major streaming platforms (iQiyi, Tencent, Youku, and Mango) in the CDrama land, and most of them were not good. I am so disappointed. I wish there were more modern dramas with good scripts, rather than these idol fantasy dramas, which often lack originality.

This drama has ruined my taste in historical/fantasy costume dramas. Please do not have a sequel for it. The only redeeming aspect of this drama is the CGI.

Synopsis: Han Li is a poor, ordinary fourth son, hailing from an unremarkable village. As a child, his uncle introduced him to Qixuanmen, the local cultivation sect. The sect's leader accepted him as a member after learning that he possessed spiritual power, albeit weak and untrained. As Han Li develops his spiritual cultivation abilities on his quest to ascend to immortality, he meets Nangong Wan, a fellow cultivator. Han Li becomes captivated by Nangong Wan's gentle elegance and strength, and the two begin to develop a partnership that strengthens them both. However, they face a dark foe in the form of Wang Chan, a practitioner of forbidden techniques that threaten the kingdom. Can Han Li help save his people and reach enlightenment, despite his humble beginnings?
