Another boring and lengthy Xian Xia drama even it has awesome actor.
I am dropping The Longest Promise with Xiao Zhan and Ren Min after 10 episodes. I don't like the Xian Xia genre; I have tried many times (TTEOTM, TJOCZ, etc.) and dropped all of them. It is not a genre that I am into.Xiao Zhan is a good actor, but to pair him up with an FL who is not as high caliber as him is a waste of his talents. I can't stand the dubbing voice of the FL character either because it was the same dubbing voice for other FL actresses that I ended up dropping all of those Xian Xia dramas.
The special effect is good, but to see the heavenly realm and monster in a fantasy setting is not my thing. The pace of the drama is also too slow that it did not lure me in. I don't want to waste my time since it is 40 episodes long.
I give it a 5.0 rating because of the bad acting on the FL, which is too slow, boring, and long.
I am rooting for Xiao Zhan and Zhao Lusi in a historical or contemporary drama together. They are both good actors.
Boring script with no on-screen chemistry between the main CP. Don't waste your time.
"The Legend of AnLe" is a Wuxia drama about revenge starring Dilraba Dilmurat as Ren An Le/Di Zi Yuan and Gong Jun as the crown Prince Han Ye.Synopsis: Di Zi Yuan seeks revenge after her family was falsely accused of treason ten years ago and beheaded according to the emperor's edict. As the sole survivor, she changes her name to Ren An Le and schemes her way into the court. She admires Crown Prince Han Ye's concern for his people's welfare. While slowly developing feelings for him, she remains haunted by her past, unable to dismiss the enmity between their two families. The crown prince, Han Ye, driven by his deep love for Di Zi Yuan, vows to resolve their differences at any cost.
Review: I have watched 11 episodes, and the pace of the drama is very slow. It did not lure or engage me, and I found it quite boring. In addition, the onscreen chemistry between Gong Jun and Dilraba was not great. When Dilraba's character tries to flirt with him, Gong Jun seems quite stiff.
The acting of the main CP was so awkward and bad that I lost interest in continuing with this drama, and nothing special about the story either. Especially many other WuXia and/or Xian Xia dramas are more interesting, like Lost You Forever and Mysterious Lotus Casebook, making this one a loser.
I give it a 5.0, and I am dropping this drama. I liked Gong Jun in Begin Again with Zhou Yu Tong (Together, they have great chemistry.) I am disappointed with his acting in other dramas post-Begin Again, similar to Dilraba; last year, I could not pass episode 1 of Blue Whisper: part 1, and I didn't bother with part 2.
The drama started out interesting but gotten stupid and draggy as the story progressed
Warm on a Cold Night, after watching 15 episodes, I can no longer continue. The story started-out interesting and somewhat funny; however, it was unbearable to watch as it progressed. It is draggy, repetitive, and boring. The onscreen chemistry between Li Yi Tong and Bi Wen Jun is not great.Li Yi Tong is a decent actress, but for some reason, I could not finish dramas where she played an FL in any drama because of the characters she played in those dramas.
This is my 11th drama with her (both as FL and 2nd FL); I first liked her in Blossom in Heart with Deng Lun, and I dropped 50% of her dramas, especially the most recent ones.
The story of Warm on a Cold Night is so stupid, and her character is very annoying because of too much whining.
I am giving it a 4.5 rating.
There is no shortcut in life, you made stupid mistakes, you have to pay the consequences
Ten Years is 24 episodes starring Gala Zhang and Zhang Ya Qin. The onscreen chemistry between the main CP is not good. The entire ensemble is bad; the main CP and the supporting cast cannot act separately and together. It is a good lesson for young people to know that finding a shortcut to make a lot of money does backfire on you. In Wang Ran's case, she put herself in a stupid and non-compromise situation where she was raped because she was drunk and voluntarily came to the villain's house alone. How stupid was that? She had herself to blame.
I watched 11 episodes already, and I don't want to continue with it even though it is only 24 episodes with 30 minutes per episode. I give it a 4.5 rating because of the bad acting and the stupid plot.
After watching 16 episodes, I got bored because the pace is too slow, draggy, and repititive
Follow Your Heart, a historical costume drama featuring Leo Luo and Song Yi didn't interest me. After 16 episodes, I was annoyed by the pace, impatience to continue, and lackluster chemistry between the lead characters. It is also slow, draggy, and repetitive, with the same themes about crime investigations.Synopsis: The series tells the romantic love story of Jiang Xin Bai, a cold and aloof prince suffering from face blindness who is determined to eliminate the "Zornia grass" from the world, and Yan Nan Xing, a passionate female traveling doctor whose appearance changes often due to a curse during the full moon each month. Together, they journey through the martial world, experiencing a fated love. Through the process, these two strong yet lonely individuals overcome numerous obstacles and jointly uphold justice. They show the true meaning of love—that while appearances are important, they cannot surpass the connection of hearts.
My Reviews:
1. The pace of the storyline was too slow, draggy, and repetitive.
There were a few comedic moments, but nothing exciting to lure me to continue.
2. The online chemistry between the lead characters needed to be improved. I like Leo Lou's onscreen chemistry with Bai Lu (Love is Sweet) better than any other actresses he paired up with.
3. I love Leo Luo. He is a good actor, but ever since Love is Sweet, I have not been able to finish any of his other dramas since 2022, like Love is Panecea, Light Chaser Rescue, and Till the End of the Moon (because episode 16 ruined the entire drama for me, so I dropped it)
4. He needs to have better scripts and pairing.
I am dropping this drama and give it a 6.5 rating.
After 18 episodes, I can no longer continue with it. Bad script and too boring with legal jargon
I am dropping Prosecution Elite after 18 episodes in; the pace is too slow, and too much legal jargon that makes it dull to watch.Dilraba was not convincing as a lawyer; her makeup was too white, and she came across as weak and less confident.
Her character and onscreen chemistry with Tong Da Wei is okay. I like Tong Da Wei and Dilraba separately. Still, in this drama, their characters do not collide romantically. They wanted to make things more suspenseful by adding a country F; WTF with that name, and it was not cool.
I give it a 5.0 rating and drop it.
The drama is too long to have investigative plot for 55 episodes. Dropping it.
Under the Power was recommended by my friend, so I started watching it, and I am dropping it after 13 episodes for the following reasons:1. It is too long, 55 episodes.
2. It is too long to watch the lead CP investigate corruption/mysterious murder for that long without any other twist.
3. I love Seven Tan but think Allen Ren is not good. He is a one-dimensional actor with the same facial expression for every emotional or non-emotional scene.
4. The pairing of them is not that great.
Nowadays, I have no patience for anything over 40 episodes unless it is split into two parts or has great plots and good pairing CP like Who Rules the World or Love like the Galaxy, or the Rebel Princess (which has 68 episodes, and the acting is good.)
It is a heart wrenching topic about domestic violent that has good ending.
As You Stood By is a modern K-drama that explores the heartbreaking issue of domestic violence. The victim, Cho Eun Su, has been so much feared and repeatedly beaten up by her toxic husband that her best friend Choi Hui Su can no longer stand by and watch. Together, they plotted and murdered Cho Eun Su's husband. It is suspenseful and kept you on your feet, but it is also hard to watch because of the domestic violence it portrays.
Synopsis: Eun Su works in sales at a luxury goods retailer in a high-end department store. She has carried the weight of a deep-seated trauma since childhood. Her friend, Hui Su, shares a similar burden; the scars of their pasts haunt both women. Hui Su was once a promising children's book writer, but her career has long since stalled. Still, their journey is fraught with peril as they navigate the perilous path ahead.

A good legal drama about aspiring young lawyers who find their individuality along the way.
All Rise is a legal modern drama about a group of interns (6 aspiring lawyers) competing for a job at an elite law firm. They were assigned to the team and worked together on various cases presented to them by their mentors. Each assignment will be graded, and whoever receives the highest score at the end will get the job. There were several funny scenes as they got to know each other, but also some moments of competition. I like He Lan Dou, who plays the Guo Xiao Yu character, who is funny, caring, and charming among the interns.
The chemistry between the FL/ML is cute. Hu Xian Xu played Jiang Chen, and Zhou Yi Ran played Ren Jia Tong, and both did a good job.
Synopsis: A group of legal interns enters a high-stakes battle for the ultimate job offer. In this fierce jungle of competition, they must discover the truly fulfilling opportunities that resonate with their lives.

If you enjoy food then watch this drama, else don't bother. Bad acting and bad script.
The Corner of the World is Dinner is a modern drama about three roommates and how they overcome life's adversities through a good meal at dinner time. The only thing good about this drama is the food they eat and the way they enjoy it. The rest is unappealing, and the acting is subpar across the entire cast.
Synopsis: Three girls with completely different professions, personalities, and schedules live together under the same roof, but they have one thing in common: no matter what conflicts or problems they encounter in life, love, or work, they will cook when night falls. The three of them get together to have a serious dinner. For them, every day's problems seem to be solved after dinner.

Another hit drama for Zhao Lusi, an excellent actress of her generation
Love Ambition is a modern drama about two ambitious and conniving people whose marriage is based on fakes and lies. It stars Zhao Lusi and William Chan. I adore Zhao Lusi and have been eagerly awaiting the release of this drama. Finally, without any promotion from Tencent, it dropped in late September. It broke so many records, a testament to Zhao Lusi's talents.I love the drama, and the supporting cast performed well, too. Zhao Lusi not only did her own makeup and selected the wardrobes for the drama, but her acting in this drama also stretched significantly because of Xu Yan's character. Kudos to you, Zhao Lusi, for your talent.
Synopsis: The glamorous anchor Xu Yan and urban elite Shen Hao Ming are an enviable couple, but their differing backgrounds create tension in their relationship. Xu Yan marries Shen Hao Ming through her carefully crafted image and his influence. After a conflict, Xu Yan breaks free, only for Shen Hao Ming to realize he has always loved her and vows to win her back. Over time, they shed their facades, grow closer, and rediscover each other and themselves.

Started out good but as it progressed into other cases, I found it draggy and boring.
Endless Protection is a legal drama about a set of lawyers in a police department trying to protect against hideous crimes against children. The drama started out well when they were first dealing with bullying and crime, which ended with a teenager committing suicide. As it progressed into other cases, I found it draggy and boring.
Synopsis: Focusing on the judicial protection of minors, it tells the story of the founding of the juvenile prosecution team, prosecutor Lin Zhi Tao and assistant prosecutor Bai En Yu, who join hands to fight against the evil of human nature for the sake of children. It starts with suspense and ends with redemption, clearing away confusion. The mountains stop, and the rivers flow.

Decent story about crime investigation, but the acting was okay. Leon Zhang was bad in this drama.
Unnatural Fire is a police/firefighters crime drama about a team of policemen, firefighters, and CSIs trying to solve mysterious cases that link to the death of Xu Tong Sheng, a fireman's parents, 18 years ago.Leon Zhang's acting was terrible in this drama. The second ML, Dai Xu, acted better. Elvira Cai's acting is okay in this drama but not her best. When Shen Yi died, the story should have just ended there. Instead, it dragged on and involved Jin Chun (Elvira Cai's character) and her relationship with Han Pei/Han Jun, which made the ending so stupid that her character died from smoke inhalation.
There was no romance between the main CPs, but the story was interesting. It is watchable, but I would not give it a high recommendation.
Synopsis: Xu Tong Sheng, a passionate and intelligent young fireman, joins the fire brigade's arson team to continue investigating the people he feels were responsible for the deaths of his parents 18 years earlier. There, he meets Shen Ye, the captain of the criminal police, and reconnects with Jin Chun, a forensic coroner known for her skills in uncovering the truth. Together, at the request of Xu Tong Sheng, they become a formidable team. Through multiple investigations, this threesome sees that there is more to the arson cases than meets the eye and that conspiracies run deep. Can they find the truth and get the justice they seek before they become engulfed in the unnatural fire?

Good action and surprised ending for this crime drama, but the pace was draggy and repetitive.
The Embers is a police crime investigation drama based in Thailand about a younger brother who has PTSD about his brother's death. Through the deceased brother, he solved the case with the help of the police and his brother's fiancee. There is a lot of action, but the pace is slow and draggy. Many small stories eventually link to the main story, some of which could easily be eliminated. I found it repetitive and draggy. I skipped and walked away to bypass the middle episodes. The last two episodes were more interesting, where the killer was his adopted mother.
No romance whatsoever if you are looking for romance.
Synopsis: A tragic massacre in their childhood completely changed the fate of the Liao brothers. Will they break through the darkness for self-redemption or descend into the abyss of vengeance? Once inseparable and solving countless mysterious cases, the two brothers now stand on opposite sides.

A sweet cheesy but watchable RomCom with good onscreen chemistry from the main CP.
The Best Thing is a RomCom drama that starts with Zhang Ling He and Xu Ruo Han about a doctor a doctor-patient relationship that turns romantic, and they eventually marry. The main CP's acting is mediocre, but they have decent onscreen chemistry. Their chemistry is cheesy, and they have little drama or conflict. It is watchable and cute.
