Glad I could help! And am so glad you liked it as much as I.And I definitely vote YES on the pink hair!I was such an advocate for this drama, especially after watching Chugakusei Nikki,an actual drama that for me comes off as predatory and indecent.I love how carefully this relationship was created, where everyone can see WHY someone would fall in love with Junko.

I related to her the most,as me myself am in a slump, unsure what path to strive towards.Like Junko, nothing in my life turned out the way I wanted it to,despite my best efforts.I can completely understand her clueless demeanor. Also, that scene in the teacher`s lounge(with hiding) is probably one of the cutest scenes in a drama I`ve seen. It`s so innocently adorable!

Great article, love reading it!Wish ā€œOne Spring Nightā€ wasn’t as underrated as it is,because it portrays a lovely healing relationship and is a joy to witness. The progression of it is also more realistic and something to strive for. I’m watching Dr.Romantic right now and while I’m loving it overall, there are…some issues with consent in the context.Always love reading your articles!šŸ’•

i don't know that i would call Move to Heaven representation for autistic people. to draw an imperfect comparison,…
As a writer,it was a very obvious story progression, which I was kind of sad about, since I expected so much more.I mean,I love that dramas are starting to explore different themes and focuses, but I wish they paid more attention to details(as is said, the devil is in the details),and yeah, found it a bit too on the nose.

Agree, and say hi to your daughter for me,we love early drama watchers! :D

I was saying it because someone on the spectrum I think, said it was good so who was I to say something contrary to them. But I get you totally,as I said, the drama also suffers from perfect timing, like characters that were supposed to be there at that exact moment for no motive other than to further the plot along also was something that didn`t sit right with me. I just hate that they made Geu-ru this macguffin essentially, with bare bones back story as I was so excited for his character.

I was talking about ā€œMove to Heavenā€ on my Feed, gave it a solid 7 for performances and the cases themselves.I cried, but I’m an emotional person by nature. Thus, I was torn whether I was crying because I organically felt that I was that connected to the story or because I was semi-manipulated into it with said sad music and sentimentalism. And I didn’t like that I was questioning it at all.

I love the representation for sure, but it also didn’t sit right with me how Geu-ru was always the one who had to be the bridge for everyone’s conflicts and seemingly had no negative traits of his own. It also came across to me like the Uncle character was just stuck in his teenage years and at 35 blaming everyone else around him.The cases themselves were the best part but I just didn’t care for the main characters at all(except for Geu-ru).šŸ˜…

I mean,I don`t exactly know why they decided to have the male lead already be a father to one child,as in the original(the 2002 show, not the CW remake) that wasn`t the case and is the catalyst to the whole conflict. Guess they`re going to follow the CW remake rather than the original.

In the original, the male lead desperately wanted to be a father because he had gone through harsh cancer treatment which left him sterile and the last vials of his sperm pre treatment were the last resort. His wish to be a father was so strong that it ruined his marriage basically, but he didn`t care.It was a dark need to keep his family name alive and the female lead fell in love with him before knowing all of this.I`m not spoiling anything important btw, just an overview for people who don`t understand why him having a child already is kind of ruining his story arc imo. But we`ll see,I grew up with the original Venezuelan version and still rewatch it from time to time,so it`s kind of weird to see this,as it`s a fascinating story.

Review An Incurable Case of Love Spoiler
Me:*feeling inspired by Nanase`s ambition and gradual growth into her job, realizing that it means so much more to her, than just it being a way for her to be close to crush. Also Kairi treating her sternly but teaching her and helping with her anxiety also, thus making me root for them because of the support they show to each other*

Damn,I guess I like misogynistic guys by your standards then.(which is funny because I`m very vocal and often push for strong female leads and healthy relationships.)

Aw, thank you so much, means a lot. And I didn`t even comment on that, but it`s true. Then again, I think it`s more due to the actress just not fitting a role of a bodybuilder thus her scenes would, either way, feel lacking in that aspect. It was really strange and I couldn`t put my finger on it, because they spent a significant amount of time together and that was developed. But that acceptance came too easily too.

I so agree with you 100%. What a mess of a story that couldn't make up its mind of what it wanted to do or tell…
This drama is very meandering and I feel like only Yoon hyung completed his character arc in the right, albeit rushed way. I almost feel like they should`ve told this story from his POV honestly. At least then, the ex having so much screen time wouldn`t be AS weird(but still a detrimental decision nonetheless). My guess is a combination of pressure and age range this can appeal to. Even then, there are better teen comedy dramas out there. Thank you!

*Doing the happy dace*You said it all. What can i say except i agree with what you wrote? I didn't add IOTL because…
Yup, you’ve been touched by the blessed hand(metaphorically, not literally you perv). I never fail to include IOTL anywhere and everywhere. Because it’s so brilliant. It evades most if not all, regurgitated tropes and the ones it does keep, feel natural, while staying within the confines of a romcom. That’s what writers should be striving for when writing a romcom ideally. I’ll be that annoying commenter on all your articles (*“◒`*)
Normie92 Jun 8, 2021
It`s almost like you knew I`d roast you so you put like most of my oppas in gifs(KAIRI CAN FEED ME TOO and INSTEAD OF FIN AMORE PUT IN STARING AT MARITZA BECAUSE I`D DIE OK). I love the article topic and I agree for the most part(Absolutely love the passive aggression about the CLOY gif and don`t watch it, ain`t that good). There is DEFINITELY a place for romcom dramas still. I just feel, as a writer(yup that`s my one for the comment) that instead of incorporating these tropes that still have potential in a fresh way(KWTYDM and IOTL did this amazingly, writers of these shows just deserve flowers delivered to their apartment door every morning), the story they jam these tropes into just makes them extra irritable. There is always a place for banality but the concept of banality kind of changes depending on what`s an individual exposed to and to what level. For me, as long as there`s amazing chemistry between the leads that`s not tacked on and fake, and as long as I can see there`s PASSION, I`m down for all romcom clichƩs. However, as we become jaded, if even one part of these two requirements is missing, I ain`t waiting for that slow kiss and going through these boring ass misunderstandings. The best romcoms I find, are those which use up all their potential and work within their confines, making the best of what they have. When it becomes grandiose, you know damn well they`ll CRAM everything in.
Not only that, but me and my literature professor were discussing this, but there`s an increasing wave of bastardizing any and all materials into cringy and overly dark versions, whilst almost making fun of lightheartedness of a romcom. Not standing for that in any way. The best hardhitting stories seem fluffy and bright on the surface and then they hit you with THE DEEP, while still CRACKING JOKES. Because that`s real life. Both bitter and sweet. PERIODT.(What a poetic way to end a comment, we love that for me) :D

I was kinda intrigued, then the whole scandal happened and now it has a lukewarm reception. I still have it on my PTW list though.
