I loved the setting, but the writing was very outdated when it came to the two leads.I liked some of the supporting characters way more but even then it was way too long for what it was. Finally, the trauma arc of the male lead was handled very poorly in my opinion and it felt very tacked on.I wrote a review on it and gave it a six, basically because of the atmosphere and the OST.
The writer for this drama really knows how to write deep, poignant characters,so I`m hoping it`ll be what I couldn`t get from Hometown Cha Cha Cha.Slice of life dramas are dependent on their characters after all.Have nothing against those who`ve liked Hometown CCC though. :)
I was skeptical at first because many said it reminded them of "Hometown Cha Cha Cha"(which I really disliked),but after seeing the director and writer behind it,I`m EXCITED for this drama.
This team really knows how to create compelling and deep characters, especially in slice of life setting. Now,I can`t wait to see it!
I also was a bit confused about the ending, but I was thinking he can go to Switzerland only for this 2 weeks…
This was one of my first reviews and one of my first KDramas simultaneously. It surprised me(the ending),but I wasn`t sold on the drama as a whole to really care. It`s just confusing I agree and not very in line with the drama either.
I have to agree with you.I,on the other hand, was prepared for a slower, more character driven dive into the outbreak genre, but even that left me unimpressed because, like you mention, the same points are made over and over again. It`s fine if you want to use the outbreak as a backdrop and I actually like the idea. But then you are expected to present layered, interesting characters we can stand behind. And this drama...does not.
Like I GET the concept.Humanity is ugly, humans break under pressure and are corrupted yadda yadda yadda, but they are just such stereotypes of other dramas mashed into this one that I just can`t get into it.Thank you for this review, great job!
Simple, sincere, heart-warming, realistic and fun. As you described it, these are indeed the main characteristics…
Right? They always nail that realistic aspect even when it comes to the most romcommy dramas.I love how detailed your comments always are and warm my nonexistent heart, bestie!よく やつて いる よ!さすが わたし Normie chan!
I`m high key excited for this!I`m leaving all controversies aside, but both of these actors were missed in 2021 in terms of their acting.Especially SYJ.Say what you will but that woman can act!
"It's got soul" THIS! I enjoyed seeing the characters as i too remember ALL of their names and their woldviews.…
As always, love seeing you under my reviews, feels like I have a cute EONNI who`s cheering me on.I love Mamoru a whole lot.I could just watch her for even more and it`s a testament to how good the characters are.Even Miyamura as a SML I liked much more as his backstory is great plus Keita never disappoints. Also her voice=YES.More female leads with deep voices it`s so nice to listen to.
I just really didn`t see romance as romance but learnt to appreciate it as part of the whole MONEY narrative rather. So I didn`t mind it in the end.
The "looked like a deer before hitting her" ... from what I understood, his mind did some very creative puzzles…
Oh,if you do let me know,I`d be willing to change this but I don`t think so.I like this drama so much that I remember it almost beat by beat. And if I`m not mistaken, when it was first shown(before the reveal etc.) it was definitely from the point of him running her over on that road with her standing. If it was all blurry and messed up due to him not being all there,I`d get that, but it`s still a weird decision to then have him be obsessed with it for so many years,if it was due to a drunken stupor or delusion.:)
Awww,so glad whenever I see you commenting on my posts.It was...a lot.I agree,however cliché,it`d be better than…
No,it`s like the writing room totally forgot they`ve tackled that already but are now repeating it and wondering about a question that was answered.Really weird tbh.And same!

And we`re one of those people apparently. There was a scene and they were talking about smtg that was literally established ONE episode prior, and I`m like:Woohoo, guys,we`ve digested this, what is going on? :D
Oof.. Why do i feel like i watched the entire thing just from this? xD Had fun reading it. Esp the BIG BRAIN script-writing…
Awww,so glad whenever I see you commenting on my posts. It was...a lot.I agree, however cliché,it`d be better than this mean spirited(somehow) version of a FL.It`s played off as quirky and tHaT`s JuSt HoW sHe Is,meanwhile there`s me sitting, going:THIS WOMAN IS 35 YEARS OLD AND A SUCCESSFUL DENTIST.It`s big brain time, you know me.It seriously feels like that, because some character traits clash in the weirdest ways.
Someone would ask something that was clearly established and acknowledged by that same someoné in previous episode and I`m in awe of confusion.
Or we`re just oversaturated and tired of the same tropes that were used in the same order for like 30 yrs :D
i see you're a person of great taste! it reminded me of that too, and it was a dark, unsettling drama that i enjoyed…
Yeah, same, don`t think they`d approach that level of psychologically disturbing with a ten foot pole lol.But it looks interesting.I loved "Kenja no Ai".
Honestly, the synopsis to this drama immediately reminded me of a Japanese drama called "Kenja no Ai".It`s really dark and disturbing, but I really liked it.Doubt this writer will be heading towards such a dark path just yet,but we`ll see.
