After you watch the movie , if you fully understand the reason the name "Monster" , then you would part of the audience who really enjoyed the film.

Not able to make much sense into these area. If you have any new thoughts , you can share. I am still processing , all the normal areas of the film , which itself is deep.

I think its again subjective. There are no good/evil characters in the film. Maybe the society as a whole can be termed as evil. All characters are realistic which means they are flawed. The mother just believed her son and internally had a bad image of teacher , and shifted all blame to him. The teacher, also made remarks of her being single mother and her acting like that is not justified, and even told to her mother , her son is bullying someone , which infact was not true and if school also , supported that narrative, the boy would have been a treated as a bully and would have suffered. For me , this film is just on a different level , as for a normal film , I would feel if this would have happened earlier or if they communicated properly etc, Hori wouldn't have to suffer. But, this film, i felt the same while halfway though the film . Towards the end, everything makes sense and as a viewer , i have nothing more to ask. And even Hori, when he knew why the boy lied, he also would have felt its his mistake to not able to see things properly, and as a teacher he didn't do his duty properly and might have even blamed himself for their deaths (may or maynot have happened) ..

If i could know it was Rashomon styled film at beginning it would have been a even better watch as i expected it to be thriller .

Its a slow paced drama . Its just perfect. Just watch it/=

How is this ? Seeing the plot and trailer , it seems challenging job to make it successfully due to the variety subject.

Yep , me too feel that lack chemistry with ML being not good at conveying emotions. But, i feel the weak script is exaggerating the flaws. As if we for a good script, I could choose not be bothered with these.

maybe , if we get a good kdrama romcom with an excellent script which is not present for this current one, then we could understand.

The fact that she kisses him for her ex to see, its just messed up. Atleast , writer could have made a story due to her childhood memories and ex boyfriends, she is afraid to get committed and hiding her feelings to a nice person. But, they want to put it to make it all entangled with the ex.

yep , haven't seen much latest romcoms , it seems to be like that. But, may not be 90%. As most , maybe until 4,5 years, both the leads doesnt have any BF/GF.

I get it the the way it is FL centric story , showing FL's life should be more specific. But, it seems you are little bit biased seeing ML hiding one or two things from FL , you mentioned making him not perfect. He still helps her and likes her. Whereas the FL, shows no gratitude or love and works for her personal gains. The fact that FL has many ex - boyfriends and ML with no girlfriends is not at all an issue. This thing when added up to the fact that of all the shortcomings of the FL, ML chooses to help her and she not showing gratitude is the concern. If the scales would have made ML to be little arrogant or FL to be more kind, then it would have been an enjoyable watch for me.

not spoilers, the chemistry is top notch . Their relation is build on mutual respect and understandings. The FL shows so much affection to the ML from the start.

I think that could be the more realistic reason for all these. But, even enemies in past life, she could do bad things to him. But, being the FL of the show, treating him with zero respect and making viewers to make it all ok ,wrapped in comedies, seems not right. Atleast if her character was consistent, it would make small sense. And, there is all the interaction with her ex, where he shows more affection to that junk.

same views myself. I was expecting the average starting episodes to make more sense and the drama to be better. It really went downhill .Glad that it is 12 episodes, best decision of the writer.

Your statement makes it a generalized criticism, which is not right. Kdramas, you mentioned, with these story lines would be romcoms mainly. There are so many other genres of kdramas . And in this romcom, genre maybe 5-15% may have these type of stories. Your argument that there are almost no dramas have ML being playboy and Fl being virgins, is right, anyway. DO watch kdramas with genres like historical, thrillers, sci fi etc

I personally doesn't understand the FL. The initial scenes where she imagines she ruining her ex marriage , is what I wanted the show to be . But, they made her forgiving and kind . Then, if they could take that persective it would have been fine. But, now she is treating ML with no love or respect , just chasing work achievements and entangling with ex.

I get what you are trying to say with all the comments. The male driven society is not at all favorable to women . But, kdramas have taken a different persepective as mentioned by others ML being virgins and FL with relationships or virgin. The term virgin I am not not implying only physically. So, this drama could have spared maybe atleast 2 mins showing ML having a girlfriend, atleast that much. Making him so perfect whereas FL treating him as a tool for personal gains. Many other topics, it has non conservative approaches, which is good. But, if we see the male leads and there main story, it is almost a typical kdrama of past 5,6 years. You can ignore other comments shaming the FL, making feminists look bad etc.

Yep agree. But, i wouldn't say practical , with all the things the ML has done for FL. She for personal gains, is just using him . As mentioned, she maybe not showing her feelings due to her past or thinking some outcomes for the ML , could have been justified. But, she is so cold and not even showing any gratitude to ML. She not showing a basic friendship with ML, makes so uninterested.
