It's not the king. The king did not turn into stone. Jang Kang successfully exchange their souls back, we have a scene of the king talking to Jang Kang after the 7 days he passed with Dohwa. Also, the soul shifter's clothes were stained with blood. The king passed away peacefully due to his illness.

She's not, Buyeon is still in her body. Master Lee sensed her and she was the one who saved Uk from shifting souls with Gilju

He's clearly ashamed of what he did. I hate the way he stained Dohwa's reputation and condemned Uk to live half a life. But I look forward to his redemption arc.

The soul ejector is the black powder/smoke that comes off the ice stone. They put the powder into orbs so when they want to soul-shift they have to break the orb to release the smoke.
