"I’m not trying to defend Build for what happened, but... "
"I just find it so evil that someone is actively trying to find the dirt of people that finally got their big break" "y’all acting like you’re perfect… we all make mistakes… "
Please I understand you are sad for kp and want to support the serie, but stop saying this kind of things, it is wrong thing to say now as ppl try to digest the informations (and I still wish from the bottom of my heart that it's wrong infos)
Apologizing is first step to make you grow, and people are free to accept or not. This is not "cancel culture", this is normal behaviour because the actor isn't a victim. Of course, if Build is targetted by threats, this is not ok at all and I wish his path to be happy. But that doesn't mean we individually have to accept because "we all make mistakes".
And as you say "y'all", I'll answer : nah sorry, I might not be a saint, but I never made that kind of "mistakes" (really, mistake ?), which implies consciously hurting ppl on the ground. You don't say "Yolo" to an assaulted person, right ? And if you did, then I'm sorry for you and hope you apologized to become a better person.
Build said some difficult things 8 years ago, and there is no doubt about it. However, I think we all said things…
Tell me if I misunderstood, but he said those thing to a person who was assaulted, not as a joke between friends.
"we all said things we regretted years later" - I'm sorry but to me what he said isn't a petty mistake, unless we have a mistranslation.
Of course I won't tell anything nasty to the actor and I pity him because this moment is wasting many efforts. I hope he'll go through it becoming nicer to people and have a good life.
But still, I think in life you can give "second chance" when you talk with your head, but now the heart is not ready for that, it's breaking. There's too many hurting things in this world in the same time. Anyway, I really like the way everyone comunicate nicely here :)
Owow... I'm so triggered by Build drama. I'm sorry I have to share it somewhere and I love the community here :/
Rationaly, I want to understand and keep on beeing happy watching KP, but I especially loved VP synergy. I got too immerse and loved Build as an actor because he seemed so unproblematic.
What he said, I don't care if it's a long time ago, you really have to be a nasty person to think that kind of sh*t - and you have to be even nastier to say that to someone. I usually don't like ppl who stalk on internet, but here I'm glad ppl dig up social media you know why ? Cuz then jerks will start to think twice before posting sh*t and hurting others.
KP was my comfort zone. I'm so sorry for the other actors cuz I'm not sure to watch the last episodes anymore (and I really love it). Still hope to see some of them in other roles (specially Bible, please never dissapoint me that way dude T.T)
How do you cope with it ? If you have a way to feel better and keep on watching, please share it...
Oh I like this translation during itw, you remember "Pete choose Vegas rather than Kinn if he had to". Then Build justified his answer : "but after Pete and Vegas go through many things together and the person that Pete honest with the most is himself. that's why he choose Vegas Kinn: u r a cobra [means betray person]" (source : https://twitter.com/cookiesthebes3/status/1525162323467706370)
Then I thought about his tattoo "no legacy is so rich as honesty". Could that explain a little bit the complex psychology of his character ?
Pete might not know anything about it, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have desires - and those desires…
Your a bit condescending, maybe you should understand that we all don't come from the same place nor have the same history, and can be touched differently by things. That also means what you think is bad can be good for other people. I won't talk about the "delulu" part, just know that your mind isn't a straight line and broken mind are unstable.
To me Pete is not the "psychiatrist" (see I was talking about stereotyping), he's just a grey human beeing and he reacts as he feels, mostly with his heart. The reaction you don't understand are his layers showing off bit by bit.
Such a fun episode and especially comments like: everyone has their own taste. Which is totally Ok if we all have…
Pete might not know anything about it, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have desires - and those desires are as tortured as the one Vegas has. That's how they "meet" each other in the middle : the both are "broken mind" people.
I think what was conveyed in the scene wasn't there to fill sadistic fantasms of the spectators, but more to understand the abnormal psychology of the characters. Vegas is literaly an hedgedog : his defenses were breaking apart while Pete chose to let his defense down too - maybe that's why he stopped smiling at the end. He was also tender because Pete was already hurt and in BDSM too, people CARE for each other.
It's not about "spice" or "vanilla", I think it's so much deeper than what you commented (but that's my opinion and you have yours and it's ok :))
We have different kind of spectators when I observe reactions about VP : - one who doesn't understand this madness and think it's just to play Joker's stereotype and is bored or laugh when anything happens between them (and that's ok) - one who understand it because their feelings has once been close to what VP is expressing (not that extreme of course). Many intentions during this scene are very simple. But as simple as they are, they can reach other broken people (and that's ok too)
I write this comment with such a heavy heart, i feel a bit sort of disappointed with ep 12.. i had became a VP…
From the moment Vegas captured Pete, their story and their entire reactions are different. They aren't at all the same than the book, there are just some similarities with their plot but their characters are fondamentaly different.
You should take it as it is : another story, which is told by two great actors :) (with those eyes, you can understand why Pete kissed Vegas, as we saw him observing him since the first episodes and his shell just cracked at the end - even if I agree IT'S TOO SHORT, and it would have deserve en entire serie because here we have to put the pieces of the puzzle by ourselves :x)
Let's not forget that pete from the serie is somewhat very smart AND a little dumb and "loyalty to his boss" is finally "a lot of bullshit" hahaha Most of all he has a dark past that his slowly showing behing his smiles.
Vegas Pete supporters are so weird and there is no way you’re going to convince me that repeated assault and…
You know that ppl find many different interests in VP relationship ? Your jugement means you only see the world in "black & white" but humans in this world have grey areas.
Pete and Vegas are carrying many weakness and anger, that's why they are interesting. As some of us in real life, they moraly cross boundaries to live despite those dark pasts and feelings. I didn't say not forgivable or lovable, but their relationship is really deep.
I only talk about my experience of viewer as VP stan and we all are different (and not "weird"...) : my past is really similar to their past (mafia exepted), and I feel really touched by all the shadows they project.
I don't know if they will love each other, but at least now, they are discovering something that could get them out of the dark. In fact, Build said that Pete is also dark and grey inside, even if he seems bright. That's why I'm fascinated by their development.
Moreover, both are great actors and the staff made their scenes like pieces of art, so it's really enjoyable to watch.
(I know you throw your sentence as an insult and a provocation to VP stans, but I just wanted to express my feeling about this couple of character somewhere haha) (sorry for my poor english :x)
what song remind you of kinnporsch ?mine is Strawberries & CigarettesSong by Troye Sivan
Bible uses Lana del rey several time on IG, so I bought her vinyl haha As VP stan, I'd say Ultraviolence : https://youtu.be/EJSk2RySqKg (I feel touched by the sad feeling of it)
Choosing this as my first foot in the door into the BL world. I’ve never been interested in BLs nor understood…
As I'm not specifically into BL either, I'd like to recommand you two series I found really nice because of the acting and cinematic : "I told sunset about you" and "Not me"
Don't know what those writers were smoking. This is so messy. The overall plot is paper-thin. Like someone said…
haha just stop watching at this point if you feel that way :)
I loved this ep and all the characters. Even if yes, the plot is thin (and it could have been a lot better, maybe if they totally stop following the book ?), to me the actors + the staff made it a great serie I don't know the english word, but the people who created the background music and atmosphere did also a wonderful job in every scenes. + this serie broke some important walls in the industry so I'm eager to see what will pop next.
I found a detailed psychological analysis of all the scenes of vegaspete in ep11 if anyone wants to read it https://twitter.com/pviiig7/status/1538413455698382848?s=20&t=Et-JWj-SH0dvMliaaDkdEQ
oh we found the same I didn't read your post before I post haha :) I also liked it a lot (specially about Vegas smile)
I see here some ppl say "its Stockholm Syndrom, it's toxic blablabla". VP relationship is far more complex than the good versus evil. It's not a romance for now. Get off the novel and you'll see it as it is : two broken people that slowly open to each other (I don't mean "forgive", right ?)
Don't believe me, but writers and actors say that is very hard to create a good villain. They say the hardest…
You'll need Pete's empathy and past to get it haha :) (some of us do, that doesn't mean it's forgivable, but it's humanly understandable : he's not a "villain", just a broken soul)
"I just find it so evil that someone is actively trying to find the dirt of people that finally got their big break"
"y’all acting like you’re perfect… we all make mistakes… "
