In the early life, the three main Gods, BaiJue, Tianqi and Zhiyang took care of ShangGu from when she was born. Tianqi took care of her the longest from a baby to now. And Gods dont age, so when ShangGu is fully grown, Tianqi had feelings for her. And Baijue obviously knew her when she was a baby, but never really paid much attention until he started to train her to become ShangGu

I know the entire drama lol. Including the ending. I have the script to the drama. So some statement i made is my own perspective, but the storyline and things that happened are true in the drama.

Yes, i actually also agree with your perspective of this drama :) Ashes of Love is a great drama but it cant compare with Ancient Love Poetry, this one is honestly a masterpiece and weibo posted that it hit a billion views. I know my comment on BaiJue's return probably sounded a bit harsh, but obviously no hate to BaiJue, we all love him and know why he is acting the way he is in the drama. But if we were Houchi or QingMu, it would be so sad to imagine they belonged to the bodies of ShangGu and BaiJue, and they couldn't live a full life for themselves and with eachother but disappear one day. I personally think QingMu is BaiJue but not at the same time...mostly on the 'not' side (my opinion).

You have basically expanded on my comments. BaiJue of course only loves ShangGu, everything from marriage to sacrificing was his plan because his whole life, he said, "You can hate me, or blame me, as long as you having a full peaceful happy life, it will be the least i can do for you". Even after BaiJue was married, he would secretly check on ShangGu which was very caring..
Yes BaiJue has his struggles, but in the drama, his intentions was not have Houchi and QingMu together but still, fate brought them together. He acted cold towards the star-crossed lovers. Didn't want to hear the name QingMu being brought up. And somewhat cared for Houchi because QingMu's final wish was that BaiJue took care of her for him. So BaiJue really only loves Shanggu and no ones else, not even HouChi.

And to back up my reason that Houchi is not really ShangGu is understand that when Houchi returned to the heavens after the punishment, BaiJue had no feelings for Houchi because she is not Shanggu, they acted like strangers. This shows they are different people. If you're trying to say Houchi was formed from ShangGu's body or anything related i can understand that. Its quite hard to get your head around it, but i am having no doubt that Houchi-Shanggu, QingMu-BaiJue, are different people with their own lives. The may be part of the same bodies, with same appearance, but thats it. I can't elaborate on this any further. Also QingMu gone had me in tears.. wish he could be a mortal with Houchi and finish a happy life together. That would've been a happy ending to their story. (obviously thats not the case and it doesn't work like that, their time is short with the Chaos happening again, and WuHuan getting in the way)

Your opinion about the baby is understandable and quite true. But the baby belonged to Houchi and Qingmu and not Shanggu or Baijue. You will understand why i say it like this when you watch future episodes, 40-45.

I understand there is the novel version, but from the drama and in the script, Zhi Yang is considered gone from the world during the war.

After finishing episode 38, i understood so much about this drama and the story. I will just share my understanding and opinions here. This will be long and Spoilers ahead!! I will start off saying that this is one of the best ancient chinese dramas made (including Ashes of Love) - The story is quite complicated and it feels like a rollercoaster after so much has happened.. And i really liked QingMu, even though he was part of Baijue as well as BoXuan. But, pls know that QingMu is NOT Baijue. He has his own life, different personalities.. Before BoXuan (his Baijue) and QingMu became one, QingMu's last words made me tear up. It was so emotional, and how much he loved Houchi, asking BaiJue to look after Houchi when he is gone forever. That scene of the transformation was amazing, we see QingMu in White and then BaiJue in Black. I almost didn't want Baijue to be awaken lol.. He looked grumpy istg- He was so mean after he was back, he ordered no one to bring up the name of QingMu because his gone, like he hated to hear the name. Tianqi said, "If ShangGu was still here, she'd think you're a heartless person". When Houchi found out QingMu was gone, it was devastating... She had his baby, and its QingMu's not BaiJue's. After episode 38, the drama won't be as good (not the production or story) just not the reaction we all wanted :/ No more BaiJue and ShangGu reunion and falling in love again. Baijue was coldass to HouChi and both acted like strangers. When Houchi disappeared, just like QingMu, GuJun had to sacrifice himself, so he gone too. Our good guy here, decided to seal up Shanggu's past memories of her HouChi life and all her beautiful memories with QingMu. BAIJUE STOP BEING SO COLD AND HEARTLESS!! And made her think she only fell asleep for 60,000 years. Tianqi and GuJun knew about Baijue's plan. When the chaos started again, he was going to sacrifice for Shanggu, And ladies and gents, that is also why Baijue created three of him. Baijue/Boxuan has Xian power (power of light and heavens) and QingMu actually has Yao power (Tianqi's kind) SO when they combined as one, He can become the God of Chaos unlike Shanggu who was born with it. In further episodes, Baijue was still careless and cold asf "in front" of Shanggu, and married Wuhuan's daughter, the princess of the heavens. Now ya'll, he married. He husband of someone else now. Can we pls take this in like.....BAIJUE IS MEANT TO BE WITH SHANGGU AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER- We not only see him acting cold about Shanggu and dies and come ashes. Like, tell me, who is looking forward to future episodes now? Next episodes onwards is the part where we will cry. Getcho tissues ready. But ofcourse Baijue marries the Princess not because he loves her, he only ever loved ShangGu and always will. I was wrong in my other comments, Baijue marries WuHuan's daughter just so ShangGu can forget about their past life and relationship, so Baijue still is considerate, that when he turns to ash, ShangGu will not be as hurt. Now lets talk about Tianqi's hair, we see in past trailers, his hair becomes white. He didn't get old. Shen Zun, AKA- Gods doesn't age. He used too much of his power to save Houchi before she dies, cause we can't forget that she still has a baby. When GuJun gave Shanggu her power back during BaiJue's wedding. She was gonna transform, but if she dies so does her baby. so when Tianqi used his power to last Houchi's life longer so she could give birth to the baby before she Hui Fei Yan Mie AKA dies :/ Tianqi got white hair. Fun FACT: The baby had their name changed three times... if you're interested to know why lemme know in the comments. Now so much has already happened.. But Wuhuan our Za Mao Feng Huang AKA the lil nasty pheonix lied about her identity. FengRan (Houchi's bestfriend) is the real fire pheonix. Leader of the pheonix tribe. Now when JingJian (the second prince of the Heavens) found out and told WuHuan he likes FengRan, Wuhuan forgot about the mother and son relationship, and killed him during the war (we also seen in the drama trailer) Feng Ran's power AKA the fire pheonix came out. Now WuHuan was concealed by the dark magic (demon power=Mo) AKA Zou Huo Ru Mo. But Mu Guang (emperor of the Heavens) still loved WuHuan after knowing EVERYTHING she did. Died for her and became the dragon spirit after Shanggu came to the rescue and captured WuHuan. We all know she deserved it. Tianqi went to visit YueMi and her tear drop rolled down her statue self, making TianQi realise he can't compare with Baijue's love for ShangGu like, his own existence was for ShangGu, the reason he was back was for ShangGu. He really loves her. So TianQi knew ShangGu needed to know EVERYTHING Baijue did in the past present and future was for her. She went to find Baijue but it was too late, and our poor BaiJue was Hui Fei Yan Mie (turned to ash). He finished the Chaos Process that Shanggu in the early life couldn't finish, and ShangGu was in tears.
Now i will end this with a lil remembrance of all the characters we loved in this drama that sadly died who surprisingly all sacrificed themselves.

I know the basic story of this drama but not the specific details. Tianqi most likely won’t die cus gods don’t die unless it’s like Yuemi.

GUYS NEWS!! if you didn’t know already it has been updated that tonight we got the VIP episodes AND on the 11th episodes 39-46 will also come out. spoiler: because he wants to become the god of chaos but he only has the power of the heavens or 仙 and he needs the power of the dark as well because shanggu was born with it but he doesn’t. (From what i know is that WuHuan absorbed dark magic so the princess would have dark magic) so he decided to marry the princess so when the day comes he can be the one to sacrifice instead of shanggu dying again. (Shanggu didn’t actually finish the process of sacrificing herself in the first world- ik that Baijue did something when he went up there, most likely stopped the process of her dying) and had Shanggu’s sword put the chaos on hold. So long story short: Shanggu never died in the beginning because Baijue paused it. But the process of the god of chaos sacrifice only paused so he will die for her instead in the second world. But obviously he can’t tell Shanggu what his gonna do and lie that he just had feelings for the princess so Shanggu will not be so hurt when he dies. He did everything for Shanggu. She just never knew until……… ;)

the youtube video is an explanation video from this drama said by a chinese person. I watched it because at first i didn’t understand some parts of the story. It ended up explaining the entire story of the drama. (and yes they do have the information to the whole drama script, they have explained many other dramas) And i know the ending and the (real) reason why shanggu had to die. If u want me to tell u for proof i can. But i dont want to spoil it. And i can tell u Baijue is as pure as he can be :)

the drama and the novel are not exactly the same story. Plus i know the whole story in the drama from a video i’ve watched. Baijue never got dark, maybe in the novel but not this drama.
