i came to the comments section to ask why the ML didn't just run him over with the car to knock him out (still am wondering!) and didn't even realize the last portion in ep 12, gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the last two episodes but it's been nice watching this show otherwise albeit with some plot holes ~

also was it only me or was miao an su and song han not written super well? like for me, i thought song han's motives made sense (though albeit a little sudden) but i didn't feel like they portrayed it well and clear. even for song han's ending, i thought an su's reasoning for killing him were a bit weak. she essentially turned on him after hearing about her brother (that she doesn't even get along much with in the first place) and learns about his character, but they never really explain or portray what an su thought of song han after except for that ending scene. like i thought it would make more sense for her to kill him but also mention im sorry but you hurt a lot of people around me or something along those lines; maybe it was the acting that wasn't on point? hmm it just didn't felt complete for me.

How did no one know that the ML asked for an imperial decree from the emperor for the FL to marry whoever she wishes and not have to follow her father and uncle's order? maybe im missing something?
I remember them also mentioning that she lowkey has to choose someone to marry because the imperial family would lose face if she doesn't, which means people have to know about it. but HOW IN THE WORLD did the ML's father and even the FL's stepmother not know about this. like if they knew about it, then its super clear that the ML likes the FL lead (because he essentially exchanged all his military merits for this); so its super clear that they at least knew each other really well. but for some reason, neither knew about it?
Hmm, I have a feeling that the one who killed Li Rong isn't Su Rongqing, like his feelings are quite legit though this actions are a bit questionable. on the other hand, every time I see Li Chuan for the past 10-15 episodes, I feel like there's something very off, especially with the mention of the 'monster' or Li Chuan's dark side, and his interactions with his sister seems very strained (I was really worried about what LC thought about LR when they were talking about cui yulang). He really does not seem suitable to be an emperor; there was a point much much earlier where I was hoping that maybe the third prince and consort rou would turn out good and the throne would pass on to him but clearly that is definitely not going to be it. Looking forward to what might happen!
im actually so excited for this but lowkey there seems to be a lot more comedy than the first season? the color grading is also a bit different. still excited for the coming episodes though!

To answer your question in the 4th paragraph about the Jin mother: The Jin mother actually never knew that BuYeon's soul will come back (since Master Lee told her that BuYeon's soul already died --> he told her that he could only save BuYeon's body by 'killing' BuYeon's soul and keeping Naksu's soul in the body). In a way, the Jin mother never really considered the current BuYeon to be her daughter, so it would kinda make sense that she did the whole torture thing and wanted the current BuYeon to get married, so at least the baby/kid will still be part of their family with the power
my new favorite character is most definitely consort yue, you go girl! -- also, i wonder if the empress/consort yue's children will show any character development
I finally started this show because i saw that this show ends this week, so I watched it happily. but just then, I was thinking there's no way the show can wrap up with the last 3 episodes or it'll be very very rushed -- then i realized there's a part 2, AH i really shouldn't have started this until part 2 at least started airing omg (i do feel like i might like part 2 more too, since they'll actually be in a relationship then xD)
