i would say definitely because he also mentioned after the encounter with chu xia that he already prepared all the evidence (episode 14) and all that!
ngl I did kind of believe him when he first mentioned the story xD but ah! it doesn't mean that he's trustworthy in any way, like couldn't the FL think of other reasons she might truly be in those places ~
omg the plot twisty-ness in episode 14 AHHHHH the only downside is that the FL is honestly really gullible; the fact that she still trusts her ex oml, and gesh the second FL (not the bff)
How's this series so far? It has a very low rating in other platforms. What's wrong with it? What do viewers dislike…
I'll just say that I think this drama is quite fine. Pretty good to pass time with! That being said though, if you plan on enjoying this drama, I would say don't think too much into it. It's true that some things are not quite ideal (loopholes, things that just do not make sense/logical, etc), so it's a time to 'just-let-it-go' and enjoy the drama for what it is?
what viewers dislike: the lack of logic what viewers might like: humor? (typical of chinese rom coms though), chemistry between the leads, actor/actress (depends if you like the actor or not ~)
Ooh, I love this! Thank you so much for this article :) I've been on a hunt for recommendations (especially movies) since a long time ago, and I'll definitely be checking out a lot of these out; all of them literally look amazing too! - i don't think there is one i wouldn't want to watch xD
I agree with you also in true beauty they depicted ugliness as situation of wearing glasses having blemished skin…
Ahh, yesss, the unrealisticness about it ^^ I'm kind of looking forward to see if there will ever be a drama about more realistic beauty standards & insecurities along with it, out with the plastic surgery and glasses ~ It could be about the little weight we gain (imagined or not), attempting to follow fashion trends, the constant doubt/thoughts, etc Maybe even one about battling against beauty standards but going through a cycle of in and out
For the ending of true beauty, I always thought it would be good if she didn't end up with any of the male leads,…
ahhh, yes yess, that's true! Hmm, I actually dropped Run On after watching half of episode 1, but I've heard that it's pretty good. if/since it has good romance, I'll definitely be re-checking it out ~
Amazing article! Congratulations on your first article too :) The first part of the article on It's Okay to Not…
For the ending of true beauty, I always thought it would be good if she didn't end up with any of the male leads, and I honestly do not really see what the male leads see in her. perhaps she was on the journey of healing with suho (with the trauma he has), but it would have also been alright if they ended up as close friends. For It's Okay to Not Be Okay, i also thought that maybe the couple didn't really necessarily have to end up with each other just because of the level of unhealthiness and kind of me questioning if they really do love each other (leaving the inaccurate portrayal of ASPD aside). - ahaha, I'm totally being an anti-romance person these daysss
Amazing article! Congratulations on your first article too :) The first part of the article on It's Okay to Not Be Okay's portrayal of autism is actually something that I have thought of while watching the show, especially the part of people/society judging them and them being a 'shackle' to the person who 'takes-care' of them; I really have yet to watch a drama with a good portrayal of autism. About the show itself, I always found the relationship between the couple a bit unhealthy, and thank you for the further info about ASPD as well!
*super minor spoiler about true beauty* And oh my, about the part of true beauty, I thought I would mention that I have yet to see a team suho vs team seojun based on who is 'hotter,' but there's definitely a lot about how the male leads treated the female lead (so i rather think it might be more based on that?). On another note, personally, I understood what the producers/screenwriters/etc were trying to message out, as well but ahaha, I have never been a big fan of dramas about beauty standards; if there are beauty standards, I usually prefer dramas about how a character was able to show their true self --> be accepted or maybe just moving past the criticism of society (which I suppose true beauty did in some sort of sense but I would prefer if the female lead finds the healing track herself or with her friends rather than because of some guys who realized her 'true beauty' + suho being against 'pretty' women in the beginning didn't really help get the message across either because it's just pretty unrealistic). Oh well, ahaha, I actually nearly dropped this drama so there's that too ~
Yup! She knew relatively early on, especially since she knew her old name. She basically just forgot her memories, but she is aware that he is her first love after he talked about his memories of mu xiao (her old name).
Aww, I love the article formatting and especially the topic! Voice dubbing in c-dramas have always been quite controversial, whether it is preferred or not. Personally, I have also come to appreciate the different characteristics that dubbing brings, but unfortunately, with poor production and/or editing, there's too many c-dramas where the voice does not match with the actor (whether it's too fast, too slow, or completely the wrong words), and it is honestly quite frustrating even if the plot is good (the number of dramas I have dropped due to poor dubbing is quite high). Nevertheless, there are several dramas, where I was actually surprised that it was dubbed.
ahaha, I remember a few days ago I was talking to someone about some of the voice actors, and we brought up Ji Guan Lin and about how she's in so many well-known dramas, that sometimes it is a put-off when we hear a similar voice in a new drama xD. On another note, there are sometimes voices that don't really match the characters, and sometimes the actor's own voice might have been better; nevertheless, it is pretty fun to watch the behind the scenes when we realize that the voices are quite different than expected
Thank you for the wonderful article! looking forward to future ones :)
Ahh, I've watched this a few months ago, so I forgot a huge portion about it. but anyhow! this is spoiler tagged Terminal illness, but I do not recall anyone having a terminal illness? does anyone happen to know who the person is or?
Yess, another awesome article!! Ahh, personally, I've been having some trouble finishing watching it because it's getting a bit boring for me, ahaha maybe mystery dramas aren't really for me (I've been really tempted to just watch the last episode, but I'm holding onnn). On another note, I absolutely love the character descriptions and the historical context in the article!!
Thank you for writing such a detailed and insightful article on this drama, I truly appreciate it. Well done!…
Aww, thank you! and ahaha, it does appear that there is more towards a negative side from the comments xD. I personally am a bit in the middle because there are some parts that are enjoyable; just that there are also parts that are frustrating. and for sure! I totally watched this drama to start with was because of Li Yi Tong, but I was pretty impressed by the acting of the other characters too! I hope you do enjoy the drama if you ever decide to watch it :)
At first I found this drama is fresh and entertaining but then it evolved into a more serious and complicated…
Ahh, yes! The 2nd half is definitely more focused on the royal family and all that plotting rather than the lighthearted, comedic-like plot in the beginning. I hope you are enjoying the drama :)
Thank you for writing this article. You pointed out the details flawlessly. The first half was great but the later…
Thank you! And ahaha I actually hold the same opinion as you, where the actors are amazing and the first half is a lot better than the second half. the cast honestly was honestly a huge part of the reason I continued watching, even though the screen time for the main leads aren't as much as expected; the side characters' actors are amazing as well!
