In the novel, WKX took her in when he was ten years old (he knew her parents and her parents were murdered). She’s basically his younger sister / daughter. (She grew up in ghost valley)

Ohh, the previews, I see I see! I just watched it a minute ago and I believe the one in the cave is Long Que (not ZZS's master; Long Que is also the one that built the vault in the first place too). Their conversation with Long Que is around chapter 49, so I would assume it is around those chapters then!

I've been rereading the translated novel a lot, but because the language is not very clear, I am still very sure how they met in the past; I've been trying to read the actual version, but that might take a while since Chinese isn't my first language. Nevertheless! It is clear about how he met Gu Xiang. So essentially, when he was 10 years old, he knew Gu Xiang's parents and saw Gu Xiang when her parents were also killed, so he took her in and took care of her. He took her to the ghost valley, and it was also shown that he enforced a rule that "except Gu Xiang No living creatures other than that shall be within three feet of him without permission." She was the only person he trusted and took care of.

As for ZZS, I'm honestly not sure how they met in the past, if they even did. The main thing I am aware of is the last generation's connection to them. Ye Baiyi was a friend of Rong Xuan's father (Rong Xuan's father - Rong Changqing - is also pretty well known for his craft), so he took in Rong Xuan as his discipline. When Baiyi went to find Rong Xuan and went to find the Four Season Manor master (who is also Baiyi's friend), he only was able to find Rong Xuan's dead body, but anyhow, Baiyi gave Rong Changqing's made-sword to Qin Huaizhang, which led to Zhou Zi Shu. On another note, Rong Xuan's wife also knew WKX's father, so through all this mess, I suppose it is somewhat possible they met in the past; although if the novel mentioned it, I wasn't able to catch it. I personally thought WKX followed ZZS because ZZS was kind of like a mystery and also had high martial arts abilities. (maybe WKX wanted to find someone he could rely on after all his painful experiences?) though in the intro the drama, there’s a scene of two children by the river, so they definitely met in the past.

And! I'm not aware that episodes 18 through 20 are out :0 Episode 17 only airs today, so may I ask what you are referring to? If they are out, I could totally mention which chapters those episodes are from if you could kind of summarize what the 18-20 episodes are about?

It's actually quite gruesome! Essentially, WKX's parents died, and the ghosts came to look and laugh at him. As a response, WKX ended up eating his father. Hence, one of the ghosts brought him back to ghost valley because 'he was born a ghost.' Once he was there, he caught the attention of the previous ghost valley master, and one day, apparently WKX killed the old master. From then on, he became the ghost valley master that was unlike any other for 2 reasons: 1) his cruelty (the previous master still had music and laughter in the ghost valley - while WKX completely changed it to fear and blood) 2) his ability to be the ghost valley master for 8 years (most only last 3 years)

As WKX mentioned, he really never lied to ZZS before. and WKX really isn't Rong Xuan's son.

From the novel, WKX's parents were friends with (I believe) Rong Xuan;s wife, and before she died, she left the key to the vault with WKX's parents. So WKX's family went into hiding, but eventually his parents were found and killed. That's why WKX holds hatred towards Rong Xuan as well as everyone else in the book!

Oooh, honestly this really goes both ways. If you choose to watch this while its airing, you'll really start to think of this drama ever single second of the day. If you are like me, then you'll start rewatching all the episodes for the 5th time (pretty bad for my health ahaha), BUT you'll really get to know the details that you didn't realize before. It's also a whole new experience to watch it with everyone as everyone discusses over it too :)
On the other hand, if you watch it after it finishes airing, it honestly would be a relief and less time consuming in a way too! I personally really wished I started watching when there is only a few episodes left (around the last week of airing), but unfortunately, I've already entered the cycle of early watching :p

Hi again! Does anyone know if it is possible to see which exact day I changed the status of a specific drama? For example, if I completed a drama and changed the drama to 'Completed' the day I started watching it, looking back, could I see the date I marked it complete? I am aware that there is a 'History' feature, but it seems that the History feature is only if I change the status at least twice, but not for the ones I just marked Complete the first time around. (if that makes sense?)
