Even with its disappointing ending imo, this is my favorite xianxia ever . I am finding myself rewatching some key episodes so many times and enjoying the subtle details all over again.
I appreciate the ambition of the idea of the show here. And after so many rewatches still so firmly behind the FL's pov 😁

this is one of the better ones in 2025. I keep coming back to and rewatching multiple iconic scenes. I wasnt the biggest fan of the ending tbh or it would have been a solid 10 for me, but the premise and execution of so much of it was pretty refreshing. this felt like no other xianxia tbh

found ending underwhelming when I usually eat up these types of endings. and I can't believe i am saying this but #justiceforSML

I fucking hate that princess. yes the dynamic with the emperor is intriguing but that's due to emperor being a bored masochistic and she being his ideal woman because she is a spoiled brat with an entitled attitude.
BUT SML didn't force her to do shit and was honest from the get go. she CHOSE to love him, she CHOSE to marry him and she CHOSE to escape with him. matter of a fact till the very end of their way back to SML's country , he offered her to go back. AND she refused. how is he then responsible for her delusions being shattered

I guess I am so traumatized by midle episodes I keep waiting for FL to stop being strong and smart but it never happens here.

also , so many things are happenning that it feels like the final episodes of a ahow .

One of the few non one dimensional emperors we got . I remember I really liked the emperor from blossoms in adversity and now I find this performance even better.

this is getting better and better.
the conversation between ML and his bestie was so well acted and very profound. his motivations were so simple and yet so poignant.
Also FL slays as always and never stopped being useful and sharp. which tends to be a rarity in the middle episodes.

I checked the whole ost list release on spotify. it has almost all the BGMs but not the best tension music they play all the time. wth?

I hate that I got spoiled on who the villain is from the previews cuz it would have been really unexpected.

How is the FL in this?

I finally found a show I am excited about everyday . I love all the sidekicks (well with the exception of the children ofc) !
Ml is dreamy. FL has a good head on her shoulders. so far so good!
We also have different than usual dynamics in some relationships: Intriguing emperor son relationship. Empress seems to have a good rapport with the stepdaughter. a stepbrother who isn't tempted hy power. SML is much darker that he lets on.
Anyway I am seated :)

I didn't like LOFG And shadow love But third time is the charm they say.
Hopefully this FL isn't disappointing till the very end.

tbh I think if it's OG FL who ends up with ML I wouldn't consider it a HE.

Solid first 2 episodes . Concept is new.

But I am quite confused about young FL's confession about the wang family . it's apparently something Empress FL didn't do in the past. does that mean young FL is someone else too?

I watched this out of nowhere and really liked a lot of it.
FL wouldn't usually be my cup of tea but she surprisingly pulled off cute without being cringy or weak. ML was pretty solid and incredibly smart .

BUT as always , a predictable ending for this genre that I hate again.

Learned my lesson from that shitty mr queen's ending. although I am interested in this won't decide to start it until the ending is revealed.

A better female general for sure! (I must be the 100th person making the comparaison but you just can't not )
I am still not sold on the story though . I'll give this more episodes for sure to see how my level of engagement evolves
