History has witnessed kings of all kinds : the tyrant, the hopeless, the weak, the smart, the womanizer... Being a king doesn't imply necessarily being strong and smart.. overtime, and in every civilization, you can find a period of time where the queen consort was indirectly influencing or even directly being the regent / ruler. So rather than counting it as a weakness of the drama, imo I find it so interesting because unlike irl, a "weak" (or emotionally driven) king is rarely shown in Kdramas.

exactly I think she wanted to show her that in order to beat him she should choose her as a lawyer. btw I like your comparison. They may seem different but both are so much alike.

I think It's because the majority rated this series only after 2 episodes and didn't continue to watch it. It's not your typical romcom period drama. It's heavy : politics and strategy and that's why I'm loving it so far tbh you can't predict what's gonna happen next and it's so entertaining to watch + a beautiful cinematography, a solid writing and a strong and smart FL is the cherry on the top. what's not to love

This is exactly what I felt watching this. It's just a one man show. Also the underuse of KHA is really infuriating

I won't comment on the pIot, tbh I've read the book and it was mesmerizing but since I've read reviews on this before watching, I didn't expect much.
However, can we talk about the OST ? What a masterpiece! Begin again, Secret, Dangerous liaisons, Cacher .. and more I can't even choose a favorite.

Have you watched 'different dreams'? It's set in the Japanese colonial period (kinda a sequel). It's not as good as MS but if you want something similar give it a try

omg yes!! especially vagabond, the series ended on a very exciting cliffhanger. They can easily do a 2nd season with Hae Ri being the new boss
