Yes, he has to break all of his ties with her and her family in order to get the antidote, and he has to help 2nd prince become emperor. It was a bit of a hard episode to watch, my poor heart can't take that much sadness from our ML.

I know what clips you are referring to. I don't think she'll forget him. It's probably some plan to either get Rong Xia back or it has something to do with fighting against the 2nd prince. Or both.

I've honestly just read the parts that interest me, I watched the drama first, and wanted to know what happens after that. Re-read some of the parts that were in the drama and that's how I noticed the changes. So the drama might not follow the novel very closely season 2. But it still gave me some sense of closure to know how the novel goes.

They announced around October/November last year that they were gonna start filming soon. Not sure of they've started yet though, so might not see it this year (you never know how long it takes for it to get through the censoring process first...)

Season 1 ends on a cliffhanger. I'd go watch it anyway, it's just that good. Read the novel if you're curious about what happens later., you can find an English translation online. Although the drama differs from the novel quite a bit.

Yeah, but despite not having that much screentime he's still one of the most memorable characters of that show. He's one of the big reasons to why I like it so much. I haven't seen him in anything else, so when I noticed him in Rebel princess I pretty much screamed with excitement ?

He does the second prince in Joy of life. I love him in that role, I was so happy to see him in this series as well. Joy of life is a bit of a must see also if you ask me, it's one of my absolute favorite c-dramas.
