I think the only thing you need to be prepared for is that it's not your typical romance drama, where everything is gonna be super romantic. It's a slowly, and more naturally, developing romance. I love it, cause it feels more realistic. But some might feel like it's too slow. But the scenes between our main couple are quite adorable.

Oh no, there's gonna be on demand viewing?! I know I shouldn't, but I know I will.... I'm already having a hard time waiting. Why is Monday so far away? Only problem is that in my experience the on demand episodes aren't fully subbed. At least they weren't when I watched Legend of Fei.

Well, honestly I don't have any problem treating then as two separate series that are just slightly related. But even so I don't like the new Wang Hao. In fact, if I didn't know from GGS what a good guy he really is, I'd probably like him even less LOL

I personally prefer the "old" Solo over this one in every aspect. I could probably go so far as to say that he was my favorite in GGS. This one pisses me off for some reason, and he's not even a bad guy. But the Solo of GGS had such a likable character, I have a hard time accepting this one. Probably the actor replacement that I dislike most.

Lol this comment is funny. As far as I'm concerned, those 2 deserve each other. Although I seem to have a lot more patience with Jin'er than the rest of the people here. It's Zitan that's mostly getting on my nerves.

Haha, ah yes, we all love XQ so much, of course we want the best woman for him. I really hope they'll do A'Wus character justice in the last episodes. I think that while she didn't act on anything the royals have done so far, I don't think she can let things go now. Not just because XQ needs justice for his dead comrades, but because the people need a good emperor, and Zitan clearly isn't that, and she probably doesn't think her family is good enough either (which is why she wouldn't support them). Feels weird that they're gonna wrap this up in just 5 more episodes. Hope it doesn't feel too rushed.

Agreed, XQ definitely already suspects Zitan. But to actually be able to do anything about him he needs the evidence. Anything else would just be considered a rebellion. I think this is what worries A'Wu as well. She understands the desire for justice, but she doesn't want him to end up actually becoming what he's so far been unjustly accused of being. I don't think she intends to hide the truth from him, she just needs to mull things over a bit more, consider their options, before talking to XQ about it. I'm also sort of hoping she'll start to plot something on her own now, but we'll see.

True. Makes me think that the best revenge she can take out on all of these people is to just not let them accomplish their goal, in this case obtain her. Though honestly, when it comes to Zitan I hope we get something more. I can actually sympathize a bit with HZ, but Zitan.... He's screwing up an entire country just because he can't let go of a woman who clearly doesn't love him. It'll be interesting to see what sort of ending were gonna get.

Judging from some preview videos for the upcoming episodes I saw on YouTube I think they're gonna be alright for now :)

I'm not sure she would have killed him anyway. It's not in her character. The cruelest thing she ever did was send Wang Qian to Hulan, but with everyone else who tried to do something to her and XQ she just seems to let it go somehow, she's not someone who'll go all out for revenge (like certain others do). I think it's because she feels compassion or pity for them, cause she can understand some of the reasons why they did what they did. As for HLZ, she knows his story, and she knows what HLT did to him and his family. I don't think she has feelings for him as in love, but she feels for him because of his background. I a way HLT is just as much to blame for XQ "death" as HLZ, since it was he who instigated the feud between the two.

I actually appreciate that he isn't super handsome. His charm isn't in the looks, but in his personality. Way more realistic than all those idol dramas out there. I don't understand why people feel the need to criticize actors for their looks. It was the same when The Rebel Princess started, people didn't find Zhou Yiwei handsome enough. But charms and acting skills make up for it more than enough in both of these cases.

Thanks! I've read a lot about what others have said happen in the novel, but got the feeling that what was now happening in the drama didn't really match that. Makes me really curious on how the ending is gonna turn out. A'Wu has basically adopted the little prince, maybe she'll settle for that and we can skip the unhappy ending of her dying after giving birth. Like everyone else, I'm hoping for a happy ending for our main couple. Though I have zero trust in Chinese script writers giving us one.... But here's to hope!

I have a question for those who have read the novel. The latest batch of episodes (52-57), do they follow the general plot outlined in the book, or are we deviating from it? If there are changes compared to the novel, what are they?
