DOS = Dream of Splendor. Here the heroine played by Liu Yi Fei had the stigma of being a "courtisan" at some point. She had to keep going on in life and keep on working and thrive in a society that probably viewed her and her group of friends as unworthy. OG YWC was oppressed by almost everyone around her on daily basis and was also treated as if she was not human. Both Zhao Pan'er and OG YWC have certain points in common. They behave in a rather cool way because of being somewhat jaded by the challenges of life and the hardships they have been encountering since their childhoods. Still they keep on moving and thriving no matter what with a lot of dignity and respect for themselves and their professions. Look at the scene the kids throw rotten vegetables to YWC and look a the way she reacted. She dealt with those brats in her way, then she laughed it off (this actress needs to smile more, she got a warm smile) and proceeded to go do her job. I think this is that scene that sold it for me when talking about OG YWC. Hopefully that actress keeps on working on her skill as an actress so she will shine more in the future.

YWC character was really well written. She had the type of dignity I saw in characters like the FL in "An Ancient Love Song" or Zhao Pan'er in DOS. Her character persona is also close to the one played by YangZi in LYF. YWC shows a lot of strength and maturity. She is nice and innocent without appearing juvenile or childish. ZHHZ did understand the assignment. Imo she shined in that role reason why in 2 episodes she overshadowed the other one. This type of FL in idol cdramas those last 7 years has been very rare.
