Lmao I think this is my karma. Whenever I defend a drama everyone exxagerately badmouth, for a few episodes and I give it the benefit of the doubts, the scriptwriter, a couple of episodes later, confirms he got no brain and f. everything up. What a shame

Well for me this pair is dead. Time for the other couple. I think DYX proved he is not the right person for her. Another challenge like this come up he will do the same thing. For me you divorce, you go on and marry someone else you are gone. Sure you had your reasons. I respect that but I have my reasons as well not to take you back.

Lol that couple is so dead for me ! Like can't be revived. So what if he is the son of whatever B. ? So this is the idea the scriptwriter came up with to try and make them reconcile and resolve everything ? Ok which means if he wasn't the son of whatever B. he would have lived in perfect harmony with wannabe Taiping ?
Now concerning that couple I side with the detractors calling a ML action unredeemable. DYX action here is UNREDEEMABLE. He is just a less-dangerous Shen Yu Rong. That's it. I trust Chai An would have never done shit like that. Maybe the one that would have given him up is KaNing to protect her family. Chai An would have left and hide far away from sub-level Taiping.

So at the end of the day ep 16 and 17 showed how brainless the scriptwriter is by falling into the trap of lazy writing concerning the SH and DYX couple... how sad. I wish he would have avoided that cheap vertical micro-drama trope. Well today I cannot defend him. Guy gave a field day to the detractors. What a shame !

The DYX and SH couple is dead for me even though they reconcile in future episode and act lovey-dovey. They are no more a cheer-worthy pair imo. This is the type of line you do not cross in term of couple dynamism.

Within the context of the episodes that have aired so far (and if ep 16 and 17 do not eventually f. up). I would like to say the Perfect Match situation would have highlighted for me how toxic extreme feminism could be. I didn't know it was as possible. I explain myself :

Here on this page and elsewhere I see people complaining that the men now are acting like weak doormat simps towards their wives in the latest episodes which is a bad thing and does not help elevate the quality of the show. Ok
On reddit I see people calling the men trash because whatever helpful thing they are doing now, they are doing it for themselves and out of hypocrisy and them lowering themselves in front of their wives is not genuine bla bla bla. the "man writer" wrote like that so he gonna make trash men sympathetic.

My reaction to this was like "is it the first time flawed characters are allowed to reform and improve step-by-step in a drama" ?

When I was reading all of those complains I got reminded of that story of a woman who, for the purpose of a documentary, disguised herself and lived for a few days as a man to prove that indeed men had it better than women in our contemporary society and of course to prove the "All Men are trash !" rhetoric. At the end the experience she ended up really questioning the version of feminism we have been served those last two decades at least.

It is fine to drop it and then if one day you are in the mood for it then watch it.

If you don't feel it it is better you drop it and the day you are in the mood come back to it

Honestly I prefer it being a big scheme even though repetitive at least it works. Therefore we would have had:

CA & KN as the enemy-to-lover couple

DYX & SH as the Scheme-marked couple

Lol it seems this girl is even ready and get the whole Li family killed in order to get the man. This storyline also kind of reminds me of the in Minglan with that insanely spoiled and insufferable noble lady who fell for Zhu Yi Long character and was getting other girls in town kidnapped and raped by her men (some ended up committing suicide) as a warning to prevent anyone from competiting against
her in the race to marry him. Her family was putting so much
pressure on his, since
he was in love with Minglan and didn't want to marry noble cray-cray at all, his right-hand man ended being beaten to death. Then he was forced by his mom to marry the crazy spoiled brat. For sure on the Minglan situation, the male interest wasn't married but I am sure things would have been the same (even
worse) had he been
married. So I knda get the same energy concerning that type of storyline between Minglan, The Double and PM here
