The whole story point = giving us spices and hot peppers. Sure the makers know what they were doing but I am sure they didn't expect their mini to blow up as much especially right after the drama LBDaF. Another mini that got popular a bit to the point Tencent released the whole thing two weeks ago on Youtube months after it actually aired was "Night of Love with you". Not only the latter got almost a million views over there but it got 6.4 on Douban with 6k voters. For a mini on budget not bad even better than some proper dramas with traffic actors *coughImmortalSamsaracough*. Those mini web dramas got potential and I feel they don't need permission before airing. They are cheap, there actors are "nobodies", their public is not really huge etc... so there must be more freedom there.therefore I think if the mini dramas makers put more effort into their storytelling and diversity (especially on the types characters for their female leads) there is a chance for them to even overshaddow their bigger counterparts.

As I said I see some good acting here from both leads especially the FL. Dai Gao Zheng manages not to look like a stupid roaming robot that relies only on his body to appeal. And trust me had I seen NOTHING in his eyes when he had to play disappointed, threatning, merciless (execution scene), flirty, happy ( when she puts the thing in his pocket) I would have been here less and less. About the heroine with her round cute innocent face (something the industry favors nowadays) I don't understand why she has been stuck in mini dramas. I read some people say they don't find her pretty. I respect their opinion. In my book she is one the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen in cdramaland so far cause of her body. Not only does she look she is not starving herself but she got the type of shape I totally dig on a woman (nice boobs, hip curve with stick out bumbums at the end) as shown in those glorious republican gowns in the drama. I hope in her next drama she gets to wear dresses that enhance her hourglass shape.
