Reset was not promoted so much to begin with and now it is eating january without being your sappy and cheesy romance. And at least heroine here is mad young without suffering the "forever minor" syndrom that has been plaguing cdramaland FLs
Girl or boy now I am curious. Is it a case of squid game plagiat where Hwang Dong Yuk literally plagiarized the storyline of an existing manga (Kaiji) and copied the scene of another movie shot by shot (Takashi Mikes's daruma scene in As Gods will) or is it just a case of similar genre but totally different storyline, characters' pshyche etc... ? If this is the latter we cannot call that plagiat.

Probably jealous fans of other previously more hyped dramas but whose reviews were complete rants after airing and who are not happy of this one getting not only 8.2 at Douban but also being a commercial hit. It went from 8.6 to 8.3 in an hour on this website here. 🤔
This is subtle especially from ML. In one episode when they woke up on the bus, the way he held her hand and started strocking it, is something a boy with growing feelings for a girl would instinctively do. And the camera focused on this gesture for a few seconds on purpose. The ML lil jealousy hints cause of Ludi is telling as well. Since it is not the main part of the show one don't dwell on it.
Zhao should stay in mature well done dramas like this one. She got too much talent to waste it on sh.tty idol show. Plus she is cute in an unique way. And I trust she does not rely on your typical pouty face acting
Honestly usually for this type of drama you wouldn't want any romance at all. But for this one here I would gladly welcome it. Cdramas makers please take note : this is a working young OTP here without making the FL mentally or even materialistically inferior to the ML ( I call it "the eternal minor" syndrom of chinese FLs). Both are complementary. The other recent shows that gave me this sensation are Ancient Detective and You are my glory (yes gorgeous Dilreba and Yang Yang worked !).

I confirm it gets better. For me this is the drama SSS failed to be qualitywise : grabing from begining to end and a working OTP even with huge age gap. Reset is just enthralling. There is hardly any romance but the leads got romantic chemistry cause of how equal and complementary they are in this battle. Indeed FL is so young compared to ML but she is not an "eternal minor". It helps that BJT still looks like a teen at 29. The acting overall is great. BJT and ZJM works well together and do a great at carrying the show emotionally. The supporting actors are really good as well especially the woman bomber and her accomplice. That lady bomber acting stole the show in the latest episodes I have seen. BJT and ZJM = an improbable pair that ended up working. A good casting makes a huge different. Only an intelligent crew member knew that those two would work magic. With each time loop the leads get knowledge at tacling the issue. Still the tension and suspense never subside. I feel for the characters and I care for their well being. This drama is on the same level as shows like Joy Of Life (I care for the characters journey), Longest day in Chang'an (the action and tension) or The long night (the suspens and police procedure side) qualitywise. For me it is the best Asian drama of January.
PS I love the opening music theme. There is this nice mixture of suspense, sadness but driving-force energy to it. Usually I skip opening parts of cdramas cause I find most of them annoying. In the recent times only Joy Of Life's, Goodbye my princess's and now Reset's opening themes have pleased me so far.
