Bleh her poutings is annoying. She got the typical cdrama FLs mannerisms even the way she talks.

Agree it is not slow for me as well. The introduction of everyone went fast and the story is unfolding at the right pace.
Did I say Zhang Tian Ai is the most gorgeous girl of the drama so far ?

Just finished episode 3 and for the 1st time I find Veng Gao intriguing. What I see there is a reason behind everything and the cat is so adorable. That kitty was the show stealer. ZRY is such a good actor. He can play ruthless as well. I will pretend Li Gen Xi aint FL.

Or Xuan Lu that has been underapreciated in China and stuck in 2nd fiddle roles. Thing is she got a more mature type of beauty.

He Lan dou is a good actress. And I mentioned cause I feel they wanted the character to be played by an underraged looking (again) actress. Someone like He Lan dou would have been great. She is cute and she can act. But Li Gen Xi is too blah imo. I think also she had a strong backing.

Yeah. Reason why those reviews are rather positive compared to the most comments here. Indeed they colud see more of the drama storyline and characters motivations. I noticed most people criticizing here only watched first 2 episodes.

Yeah but she is not your ordinary type of maid. She is the female lead ! Above the likes of Crystal Zhang (who is doing a good job as mysterious martial artist). Sorry but if they wanted to cast a childlike actress as Xu Feng's probable love interest there is He Lan Dou there !

Honestly I have no problem with that lightning. My only problem apart from the fighting scenes is Teresa Li. She just does not belong in here.

I loved Qi Heng. He really loved MingLan. Sure he is inexperienced but he is not a heartless tyran like all of those high So people. The way he was force by this horrible yong family to marry their spoiled brat monster broke my heart. I had to pause the drama here and there cause I know for sure they will make him "love" that spoiled b.tch

MingLan is a good drama. Everything feels natural in how thing unfold and all. My only pet peeve is Feng Shiao Feng. He is just not fo me (I have to pass on Peng Xiao Ran next drama because of him). On a shallow note a stronger more appealing actor like Wang Kai would have elevated it. Haizzz.
I feel there is a patern with cdramas for me :
When the storyline is engaging and everything is near perfect there is a problem with the casting of that one actor that kinda ruins it :
- Story of Minglan : FSF is my cryptonite
- imperial coroner : all is well until I see Zu Xiao Tong pouting, facial expression and hear her horrible dubbed voice
-Joy Of Life : I love that drama, I finished it but Li Qin has no chemistry with ZRY (she has it with Qin Hao)
- Sword Snow Stride : Li Gen Xi is miscasted. If they wanted so much to cast a childlike looking actress, a girl like He Lan Dou would have been perfect ! My shallow side can't bear and watch pouting Li Gen Xi. It just looks bad for me
