Gotta love how symbolisms are used by the director to show how psychologically Xiao Heng and XFF are s*xually united (I would say making love) during the bathing scene where both characters are half naked. Here are my two cents :
Water symbolises feminity, the beauty of the woman, the essence of the woman (when women are pregnant the children grow in water inside them). While weapons like swords, knives ect... have a phallic symbol to them. They are made to penetrate and conquest . XFF is in water positioned in a very sensual way with some red roses on top. Red roses symbolise love and passion. She cannot stop touching and playing with one of them with a delightful expression on her face. She is mostly filmed from the top enjoying the moment. As if someone is on top of her admiring her beauty and her lines. Her scenes are intercut with Xiao Heng's who is also half naked under the rain (water symbolising the feminine energy) making one with it while training with his sword with a fierce and intense look on his face. I am speechless guys. That scene beats everything the likes of Bridgertone have given us. Guys there is an effective way to film a love scene between two characters without being vulgar. I can only applaud the PD here... Bravo
