It is not S+ project for sure but when you look at the Yunhe ranking up here, they wrote the mention "S+" next to "The double" while FSMM which is basically an S+ project got the mention "S" next to it. So I was thinking the drama has probably upgraded because it got more successful than expected.
Cause of its popularity "The Double" upgraded to S+ now -if I remember it is originally an "S" project. It got 28% part of the market on Yunhe and is second to JOL2 that got 33% -JOL2 still mad popular though even days after its end 😳.

But if we look at it Duke Su is a lil controversial and that lil jerky behaviour is also in line with this character who does not have the best of reputation in town - guy shows up uninvitated to certain gatherings just to enjoy the drama, he shows an unappropriate interest in somebody's wife that walks the street with her maid who notices it which is a bit daring, he can act b.tchy at times, he is sure sassy etc... and I like an unhinged b.tchy ML 😎
Am I the only one that get butterflies in the stomach whenever he calls her Ah-Li ? Boy was like " hate it or love it I am gonna call you that cause I am confident OUR PATHS WILL CONVERGE !". And everytime his eyes lie on XFF it is as if he is undressing her. It is very intense !

The couple vibe gives me the same as those douyin/reel short dramas'pairs's where the storyline of said dramasdeals with the female lead dumping her *sshole/muderer fiance for his more charismatic and imposing uncle. Usually that type of story setting enables the pair to have a mature chemistry charged with a lot of s*xual tension. I think that is what makes "The double" work
A score so fast ? Some dramas take two weeks for douban to release a score.
It seems no matter the flaws people over there at Douban are digging it. 6.9 for a show like this is high ! It is almost 7 ! Which is more than decent !
