I know that most consider their love story a slow burn. Upon re-watch, I don’t believe it was. He was intrigued…
I felt the same thing! She was constantly on his mind right from the get-go and that was something he himself couldn't make sense of. He could have been annoyed and not interacted with her but sometimes, I got the impression that he found reasons just to engage with her!! He does admit that he fell in love with her even before he went into Guixi the first time and I feel like he only realised how he felt after the mortal realm experiences because that was when he had the space to truly understand his feelings without having the weight and expectations of being SDYQ on his shoulders.
Youqin's pep talk to Yetan surrounded by stars is so touching..makes you realise how he's being patient and tolerant with her and understands that she isn't rebelling or being stubborn just for the sake of it. "You seem rebellious but you were born with outstanding talents. If you can correct your mistakes, you will earn the four realm's respect." Probably the first time Yetan heard that she could be in charge of her destiny despite her (supposedly) unfortunate circumstances.
And then on the other hand, we have Chaofeng seducing Qingkui with his plots and games LOL! The contrast!!!!
I love their chemistry, too. Feels so real he he he...like they've been together for a LOOONGG time.
Like Youqin and his dragonfly lol! I like how Feichi starts every controversial sentence/statement he's about to say with "Excuse me for being nosy/Excuse me for stepping out of line/Excuse me for interfering in your life"..and its many variations hahahaha
Ep 31 had one of the funniest and most emotional scenes of the drama. This is where this drama shines, you can…
The 'good' son-in-law and the 'bad' son-in-law LOL!!!!! The whole sense of family throughout this episode was warm and soothing - I kept smiling like crazy :)
To be honest, I was quite frustrated at the ending. It could have been better. I wouldn't mind crying for nothing…
I think what I loved about the death scenes were that there was lots of conversation which kind of gave me a feeling of closure (if that makes sense). As opposed to showing extended scenes of the actual deaths
* The Heavenly Emperor wanted both Youqin & Qingheng to train to protect Guixu. YQ, being the good big brother…
The brushing off is hilarious! Especially in the later contexts where he’s known to be super coean and DLJ can’t find anything of his to use to sniff him out 😂😂😂😂
Their first meeting is probably my favourite despite all the swoon worthy moments later on. I love the humour…
Youqin’s face when he tells Yetan who he is. Like I heard angels sing in the background and bells ring etc. And, Yetan just casually dismisses it saying “Yeah, and I am the heavenly emperor!” 😂
She always sort of took him down from his high pedestal and put him in his place! And she did it even later on once they got together - when he asks her why she’s running out and about and not waiting for him indoors, she asks him quite heatedly “who said girls/women should stay indoors????” And the whole convo about her taking care of him! Such a feminist 😃
I cannot help but think of how Qingkui would have been with him everytime I talk about Yetan - the bowing and respectful distance and agreeing with everything he says cos that’s what she’s been taught she should do! He definitely wouldn’t have learnt to be…agitated 😂😂
How Yetan expected the worst and did not want to go back to the Knowledge Star deity and explain the situation with Biqiong as this is what she's used to - being ignored, not believed, not trusted, reprimanded for things she didn't do, discriminated against. Even Youqin immediately assumed that she would be at fault :(
I am glad SuZhi explained what happened to Youqin - no matter what her motivation. And I am glad Youqin fought for her - irrespective of why and what he did. It built some hope in Yetan that she was worthy...
I saw comments like YQ2.0 changed too much, is not the ML anymore. Actually, YQ2.0 is the real ML, he was such…
OMG yes! She always rooted for YT and was so glad she was the Empyrean Consort from the get go.
I cannot imagine QingKui being able to do this. She was instilled with the qualities, comportment and teachings to be the consort from birth and that would only have served to 'keep the peace' in the heavenly realm per se (in the eyes of the HE atleast). I cannot see her doing what YT did for YQ and there certainly wouldn't have been any thunder due to turbulent emotions lol!!!
Conversely, I see CF helped QK get out of her comfort zone and bring out her adventurous side.
In ep 5, around 18:00, I am so curious to know what Youqin wanted to ask his mother just before the HE came in…
Yes! When FeiChi pointed out how they were having great weather after so long as a result of Youqin having bested Yetan to get back the 3 master deities treasures, it shows how Youqin actually enjoyed the thrill of the game :))))

This is true and something I am realising a lot more upon rewatch...even their circumstances growing up were quite similar even though the family situation per se is something she shares with ChaoFeng (being ignored/outcasted by family etc). I think this is also why Youqin understood how she must be feeling when she first came to heavenly realm and did whatever he could to make her life easier
Edit: I think Youqin shares QingKui's inherent kindness...again something he got through having a parent who doted on him just like how QingKui was doted on by her father

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA poor DLJ!!!
YT - This is the heavenly carriage!!!!
QK - The heavenly carriage has the ability to change like this?!
YT is quite observant!!!!
