I thought the same. I don’t see it as redemption - more of a means to an end. She had to sort out her issues with the father to involve the mortal realm in her revenge plot. But nope, forgive and moving on didn’t seem realistic. But then again, this is a fantasy ☺️

Is it perhaps because LaMu has Youqin’s subconscious? It did occur to me too but slipped my mind in the chaos of Youqin being reborn 😂
Or I was thinking maybe he taught himself to better understand the world he had little to no contact with - he had no one to talk to so his speech is not smooth but reading can be self-taught?
(Look at me trying to justify LaMu’s situation because I think he’s precious and must be protected 😂😂😂😂)
All the fight scenes where awesome! Such beautiful choreography and the way the actors pulled it off was amazing - especially the first one in the market place where Chen Muchi was amazing! You could see his sheer physicality in that.
BUT the scenes with Youqin teaching Yetan his sword moves and then her using it against him was EPiC! I especially loved the scene where his robes flies up during the fight - such a real thing to happen where one is so focussed that appearances are secondary ☺️☺️
I feel like he's made it harder for me to watch Cdrama after this!I want ML's who can act and look masculine now!!!

Yes!!!!!!! THIS is how a person who cries out of sorrow and desperation actually looks like! Not with that one singular tear that hangs on to the corner of the left eye which refuses to fall no matter what! 😑
I caught some interview sections of his on YT (cos now my feed is flooded with all things TSL) and in it, he was talking about having hurt his head and neck so badly during a shoot that he still feels occasional numbness in his head and another time when he hurt his back and couldn’t walk for a while cos he fell off a horse and other horses trampled on him or some such. He ends it by saying “This is how it is, we get hurt during the course of shooting but as long as I am alive and can get up and shoot again, it’s all good.” And he must have been all of 22-23 or so when he said this! I cannot even imagine the kind of passion he must be feeling to his craft to be able to look at things this way 😔😔

I have come to understand that you don't have to forgive someone if you don't want to as that is entirely your prerogative. Healing is possible without forgiveness being involved. The HE and Emperor Tun both fall into this category for me... as a viewer, I am able to see their actions later on as serving the purpose BUT not as their redemption. I choose not to be forced into feeling something I don't or, am not ready to, feel yet :)

So the first person Youqin willingly touched after his resurrection was the Crane-Riding deity. When she first came to complain to him about YT stealing her eggs, he kept avoiding her touch and now, he reaches out to her on his own. Imagine if she would've figured that out!!!!!
