I dont know why people are shitting on Hong jo for going alone to search that hole in the forest when she has been alone for long time, she is outcasted by her coworkers she is used to do things alone. Getting the hang around the fact that she has people by her side now will take some time. Moreover, her coworkers are already being shitty with her now because of that whole scandal.
Plus probably, she told shinyu about that thing otherwise he wouldnt have been so worried.

Since one of the genre of this drama is office drama. They have to show some scenes of their coworkers

The "pure" thing is the literal translation problem of netflix. He is just asking her to not to flirt or date someone else till he sorts out his relationship with his gf.

Exactly, the plot is intriguing, the characters are complex. I dont know if anyone has noticed this that apart from our FL and ML every other person in this drama is struggling from loneliness.
But yeah the editing is just ruining this show.

He already broke up with her at the start of ep10. It is just that it is revealed at the end of the episode.

1) For people complaining why he didnt change hong jo's call id on his phone, he did chang it to "lee hong ju" btw just go recheck
2) I cannot believe people are taking that "pure" and "dirty" conv that seriously when all he is saying is that "dont date/love anyone else and wait for him to sort out his relationship with his gf" and it is taken by both of them in a funny way. Being healthily possessive of someone you love is not wrong. But i guess everyone couldnt vibe with that type of talk and its okay.
3) As soon as shinyu was clear of his feeling he went to break up with nayeon. And last we get know that he did break up with her.
4) Also on why he is being so soft with nayeon?- As viewers we know nayeon's true face but he doesnt. He still thinks that she is a good person who loved him and that he is someone who is doing wrong breaking up with her. And after that he is still kinda cold towards her but not in a rude way. Imagine if the ML was rude while breaking up with her people would have still blamed him for that.
Personally, i like the fact that he broke up with nayeon solely because he has feelings for hong jo and not because he finds out about nayeon cheating on him. That shows that his two timing before this is not even out by his cheater gf.
4) On why he didnt tell hong jo about that promise to nayeon thing first. Well how could he know that na yeon would start being unnecessarily clingywith him to show off to hong jo when they have already broken. And before he could tell hong jo about all this nayeon had already done her work explaining it to hong jo would have been a excuse. Remember he called her just after the lunch but couldnt say anything to her. I know most people dont work like that but some people and here shinyu work like that.
5) Its not like he doest wanna be open about his feelings. He is very much ready to talk about it to his friend. And before ge could do that nayeon had already done her work with hongjo. And that is really not shinyu again because he doesnt know how much of a bitch his ex-gf is and neither is hongjo ready to talk to him about what nayeon said to her. Also it is not easy to get rid of people like nayeon.
6) I like the fact that hong jo expressed her frustation about nayeon to him. She is right where she stands.
7) About shinyu dragging hong jo yeah i agree that it was a bit too much.
8) On why he didnt go to mayor's office with hongjo. Seriously, what was he supposed to say? That he broke up with his daughter because he is in love with hong jo and that without discussing it with hong jo. Imo he did right by telling hong jo first that he wants to be open about their dating life. And that whatever maybe the repurcussions he will be by her side and asked her about how she feels which is very imp. Also he is right about how hong jo can get criticized if the city hall got to know that he broke up with his gf to get together with hong jo that was actually thoughtful on his part.
8) Lastly, Shinyu has already broken up with nayeon and if nayeon still decides to be clingy and be a bitch about it is no longer shinyu's fault.

I think the worst parts of this show are the scene placement, and editing. They are trying to create suspense where it is not needed. Like they should have showed that shinyu's promise to nayeon part directly after they ended their relatioship but they dragged it till the end which made it distorted.

I agree shinyu dragging hong jo was a bit too much. But i think him not telling hong jo about the break up was right in his part in the sense that he wants to keep that promise to nayeon.
Now him being a wimp for nayeon- he still thinks she is a good person who loves him doesnt know about that she is cheating on him. He thinks he wronged nayeon because he broke up with her so that was kinda reasonable for him accept that request(personally i like the fact that shinyu broke up with nayeon not because her true face is revealed but because he loves hongjo that says that his two timing before was not dismissed)
Plus imo if he had directly gone to the mayor's office that would have been disastrous for hong jo. Telling about their relationship to the mayor without hong jo's consent could have terrible consequences? That is why he made it clear to hong jo first that he is going to date openly now and that he will be by her side even when they criticize their relationship.

The FL is comfortable with the ML the day he saved her from a drunkard. She finds him irritating and annoying but not uncomfortable. With gardener guy she is uncomfortable. Plus even the FL physically touches the ML like the her constant slapping of his shoulder as a joke when he was reading the spell book in ep 2. The way she grabs his hands in front of their office lobby and corners him to talk about SML. They trust each other and are comfortable enough to have casual physical contact.

I agree! I think the most interesting thing will be if the ML breaks up with the SFL soley because of his feelings for the FL or because he finds out that the SFL is cheating on him.

My point is just because the SFL is cheating they are not justifying the ML's cheating. He feels terrible for that kiss and the FL still called him out on his behaviour.
And we still have to know what made na yeon cheat on him or she was just using him from the start.

Uhmm...no the show is not making it seem like he was doing good by kissing hong jo when he is already in a relationship with nayeon . Hong jo calls him out on that and even he feels terrible about it(his conversation with shaman lady says it all). The SFLs character is bratty from the start. She deceived hong jo saying that she was her best friend but ended up revealing her true nature by bullying her until she had to dropout over a petty thing. She apologized to hong jo for bullying only to save her image in the city hall unless hong jo reveals it. He character was iffy from the start. Even her official character intro says that.
