I agree. Even though some characters’ behavior frustrates me. Boon Ok being the one who disappoints me the most…
Yes, that's exactly what frustrates me about Boonok too. From what I remember, it's only been Hyeryeong & Seolhee to some extent who actually do look down upon her (but she is also prejudiced against them so I'm not surprised they don't like each other). However, because Boonok thinks everyone looks down upon her, she's vindictive. That's why the choices that she makes, frustratingly so, are to be expected from her character. While it's not as if I predicted what would happen concerning her, watching her scenes make me think "of course she would." I think I mentioned this before, but she seems to set in her ways for a change of heart to be believable, or acceptable for me as viewer. I'm fine if the drama ends with her continuing on the path that she's been because it will stay true to the character she's been since the start.
Absolutely love Jung hae in but in two minds whether to watch this one or not. Can someone please drop an unbiased…
Though the tag includes romance , it's to a minimum & arguably the weakest part of the plot. I'm personally fine with the way the romance is portrayed given the nature of the story. It's mainly a black comedy political drama. Some don't like how the story appears to go in a cycle after a certain point but it's important to remember that time passes by differently in the show than it does for us viewers. (Since you may be be starting as it ends, that may not be an issue for you.) Also, I would say the story is more about the characters & the choices they make so I'm liking how the story is unfolding. The cinematography is nice & the OST is great. As for the acting, every actor is doing their best in their role. It's a wonderful cast. Since you're considering watching for Haein, I feel as if this is his best role & character yet so I would encourage you to give it a watch for him.
While I may not like or agree with all actions, I can understand the reasoning behind why certain characters take the action that they do. (Maybe the only exception to that is Youngro's stepmother who seems like she's only the evil stepmother kind of character.) &, this is an unpopular opinion, but I think the writer had done a decent job of strengthening each character's personality according to how they're meant to be. For example, Boonok has had an inferiority complex from the start & we see how because of that, in every situation she's in, she's done what she thinks is best for herself without thinking about the consequences. Likewise, Hanna has been obsessed with finding out the truth behind Kangmoo breaking up their engagement so her actions have been bold to reach her goal. As for Youngro, her decisions have been made based on her wanting to help others. (I could reflect on other characters but I don't want to make this longer & those are the 3 main ones who I've been thinking about for a while.) With that being said, I personally don't expect the characters to act any differently than they have been doing so far - it would be out of character. I don't feel as if that means they are a poorly written character, though of course I understand and know others do feel that way. I'm trying to view the characters from the writer's intentions - at least from what they have presented us with since episode 1- rather than focusing too much on my own expectations or preferences of how characters should be or act. (Of course, there's nothing wrong with doing that because it is part of the viewing experience.)
i wasnt bothered by it either considering she fulfilled her purpose in the plot of today's episode and i do think…
The points you brought up are what I feel about the romance. They are literally risking their lives for each other so I can't ask for me. Though, I understand why others feel differently.
I have a soft spot for Eungcheol. As for Boonok, you're right. She should be reflecting on why they're still letting her walk around freely even though all she's done is be a menace to herself & everyone.
Is this not her first acting? Her character was indeed was quite restrictive, so it is hard to know how much potential…
It's all a matter of perception because to some her actions are daring at times & interesting. If you mean will she play a character like Hanna or Boonok in the future, that all depends on her & if she likes the character/script. She's the type who likes taking on challenges & learning from them so I don't see why it's not possible, unless her schedule as an idol doesn't allow her for time to act.
I love this drama.. started because of Hae in and Jisoo.. but at this point I'm loving this drama not for their…
Though it's the weakest part of the plot for some, I think the romance is fine the way it is. Maybe I feel that way because I'm also more into the political plot.

Though I don't hate it, it isn't my favorite trope & could've been better executed here. I will say that with the way Youngro & Sooho are written, especially her, it's fitting for their romance. Hopefully the blu-ray is released & we see those moments if they exist.
i saw many comments here saying young ro keeps crying, doing nothing. All i want to say is : she's like 20 right…
Youngro has tried her best to help save the hostages so I'm confused how she's doing nothing. Aside from asking her father for help, she revealed her identity to bargain for their release, she stole the detonator from Sooho, she came up with a plan with Miss Pi & Kangmoo to escape, she acted as bait to put the escape plan in motion, she stood up to Comradre Joo when he was beating up Hyeryeong's boyfriend, & she defended Miss Pi when others were questioning her upon Boonok's inciting. Though some may consider her actions risky, they've been within her abilities. (Also, it's funny how other characters do risky actions too but the reaction to them is completely different.) As you mentioned, with all the trauma she's gone through, crying isn't a farfetched response. I think some of the responses towards Youngro may boil down to not caring for characters who show a vulnerable side like she does & not believing in/liking characters who manage to stay selfless amongst selfish characters. (I'm not trying to be rude but I know people already have their minds made up about Youngro, as do I, so please don't respond to me trying to discuss if you don't agree.)

When I first saw the synopsis, I wondered how their love story would work & once the hostage situation began I knew not to expect much from it. I signed up for angst & I've gotten what I wanted so I can't complain too much. Though, like you & most viewers, I also would've liked if we got more moments between them before the hostage situation. I know the premise of their romance is love at first sight but it wouldn't have hurt to give viewers a bit more. (I wonder if there are some deleted scenes.) & you're right. Sooho didn't even want to go on the blind date in the first place & you could see him trying to draw a line between them, up until he couldn't anymore, so it makes sense why we weren't given many moments.
true but i also agree that because so much is happening to both of them personally (getting betrayed by their…
You brought up good points. Also, I think because the drama was described as a romance & we have certain perceptions of how romance should be displayed it makes it appear as if it isn't being delivered. But, as you said, it's just right given their situations.

From watching the preconference & seeing things about the director's style, I wondered how much romance we would get. I guess since I didn't have those expectations that's why I'm fine with the way things have been. But, yes, I understand how the posters & marketing of the drama influenced viewers' expectations of what this drama should be like. I guess for those that will write reviews for this drama when it ends it should be an important fact mentioned.
I too don't find it draggy at all. It gives us more insights of people executing their plan in such situations.
I'm not going to lie & say I wasn't a bit disappointed when Gwangtae was safe as Taeil's team was shooting at their group. But, I like how he was stopped by Sooho & Dr. Kang's plan. As you said, these insights help us to better understand their characters so I don't mind.
Also, this is another unpopular feeling, but I really wasn't bothered by Youngro's lack of screen time in episode 13. She tried convincing her father & that plan failed leaving her to have something else to feel guilty about. With Taeil breaking into the dorm this episode, it's not as if she would've been able to help in any way so it makes sense that she wasn't a focus in this episode. (Maybe episode 14 will be different given that preview but who knows.) Either way, I've always personally felt this was Sooho's story more than any other character & have been mostly okay with the distribution of scenes characters appear in.
