Title Hi Venus Spoiler
FL is a bit unbearable at the beginning but she gets better as the episodes pass. ML is playful, cute, & understanding.…
There is a pretend break up but no actual break up talk between them, though ML does tease FL about it.

Title Hi Venus
Will be starting this drama tomorrow; been hearing nothing but good things about it. I need comedy and maturity…
FL is a bit unbearable at the beginning but she gets better as the episodes pass. ML is playful, cute, & understanding. For the most part, they have good communication & no huge unnecessary drama. The secondary couple is also cute & likeable.

However you feel about Yu Reum & her choices (please don't comment wanting to discuss them as there's already other posts doing so & I really don't care to have a conversation about her), episodes 9 & 10 were good at showing the difficulties of having to work with your friend & trying to stay professional. Even if it's frustrating to watch, I think it's a good conflict for the drama. But, as others wrote, I'm curious to see how their friendship, & love relationship, is mended when the gap between them keeps getting bigger. I don't care if they end up together or not but I'm also not a fan of him ending up with Jiyun (those that like her, please don't tell me why you do.) Maybe it's the actress playing her or watching someone cling to someone that already rejected them multiple times/is clearly in love with someone else but I find their scenes boring to watch. (Yes, I know it appears as if he's going to give her a chance or whatever but I still don't find her appealing to watch.) Anyways, it was a nice surprise seeing the interactions between the chef & webtoon writer. I would like more scenes of them together but I'm not too hopeful.

I was wondering which of the newly aired dramas I should begin & saw people saying this was similar to Chief Kim so starting this was a no brainer. (Good thing there's only 4 episodes so far so it was easy for me to catch up.) I had been waiting for a comedic drama like this! The was the cases are approached are fun too & the chemistry between the trio is great.

That Hot Stove League reference got me shook-eth lolSeriously though, why didn't we have a 2nd season of Hot Stove…
The way I sat up straight when that reference was made. They knew what they were doing to the fans with that 😂

This can be a bit heavy at times, especially if you're not in a good headspace. However, I found it to be a good drama with healing for its characters. Though it was bittersweet, I liked seeing team genie come together to grant wishes. It was easy to be interested in each of the wish asker's story. Like Ivy mentioned two posts below, Joon Kyung's character & story made it unwatchable for a bit but one can power through the episodes that focus more on her, especially for those that will binge watch. (I also found her change of heart abrupt but that's better than her staying the way she was or being worse.) I won't say it's the best drama that I've watched all year but I liked it more than I thought I would & think it's worth a watch.

Title If You Wish Upon Me Spoiler
When the nurse started telling the story of her late father's wish to send special packages to his faithful readers, I started tearing up. Mr. Kang's wish to throw Gyeo Re a party & them building their own village for Deok Ja was touching. The final episode was beautifully done & a very satisfying full circle end to watch.
On Once upon a Small Town Sep 29, 2022
I think the last two episodes were the best ones. Sure, it did feel rushed (but I expected that from this short drama) but, for the most part, they were easy to watch as there was no annoying conflict. I wish it would've been like that throughout the show (with more focus on the leads as a couple rather than the love triangles) but at least it ended ok.

Is this a slow burn romance?
I guess you could call it that since there's only 12 episodes & they don't get together until the end of ep 10 (because love triangle stuff was happening until then).
On Once upon a Small Town Sep 27, 2022
Episode 11 giving me the vibes I thought we were going to have throughout the drama. It was a bit weird to see them acting like a couple but it's the kind that comes with the beginning stages of a relationship. Seeing them sneak around was fun too. & I love that Jayoung started to think more about herself (by not working past her work hours & telling that auntie she'll help her out of respect & not because she wants to be liked).

Title Once upon a Small Town Spoiler
I like how the scenes with the leads rejecting their love interests turned out. I felt bad for Jayoung, even though she was doing the rejecting, because of her fear about ruining the friendship. I'm glad that Sanghyun was finally able to accept it (but like someone said if only they would've made her reject him earlier on so he wouldn't have been as annoying as he was). & Min was still being a bit selfish thinking about herself so it was nice to see Jiyul tell her he's talking about his feelings & set her straight about their breakup. Though it would've been better if the love triangle drama had been reduced much earlier on (or never began), at least they didn't drag it to the last episode so I'm ok with that.
On Once upon a Small Town Sep 23, 2022
Episode 9 started with Sanghyun annoying me, Min taking that honor after & ending with her making me mad at the end 😭 One thing I will say is that I'm glad at least Sanghyun hasn't forced a kiss on Jayoung (yet. Yes, I know that's the bare minimum.) & it was easy to feel frustrated with the leads for not being firm with the clingers about how they feel but they're acting according to what their characters have been like throughout the show so far (& also I know it's for the plot). Jayoung is nice & a people pleaser who doesn't want to hurt her friendship with Sanghyun. & Jiyul is calm & knows that Min is stubborn & will do whatever she wants regardless of what he says. There's only 3 eps left so I would like to see them make things clear once & for all but I don't have high expectations with the drama not dragging the love square until the end 😪

In ep 9, she becomes more annoying 🙄 😒
I'm going to watch it later but just from the preview you can tell.
On Once upon a Small Town Sep 21, 2022
The writers really said an annoying SML isn't enough so let's give you an ex who can't let go too to get on your nerves even more! 😩
Honestly, ep 8 just made me feel bad for ML because since the start of the show he's had people not respect his boundaries or get upset at him for him feeling uncomfortable with their actions.
On Today's Webtoon Sep 17, 2022
Episode 15 had too many flashbacks making me feel as if they just wanted to waste time to reach 16 episodes. & the conclusions of the main problems revolving around the webtoon team felt a bit anti-climatic to me, like they should've kept that for the finale but we'll see what they have in store for that. (No, I don't have high hopes.)
On Once upon a Small Town Sep 14, 2022
Sanghyeon really doing two of the things I hate smls doing the most. First, he stops her from rejecting his confession telling her to think about him in a different light. Boy, she's had years to do so & didn't want you in that way before so it's not happening now. Then, he acts as if Jayoung isn't a grown woman capable of making her own choices & thinks he can speak on her behalf to Jiyul when she never even voiced those concerns. I know he's worried but it's her decision to care about Jiyul like she does & it wasn't his place to speak to Jiyul. It's funny because I wouldn't even say I ship Jayoung & Jiyul but Sanghyeon's behavior is making me want them to be together. Love triangle drama aside, I do like the direction the story is taking, in terms of Jiyul's character thinking about things, & the puppies were the best part of episode 5.

I was also bothered by the fact that he said he has a gf yet FL is still trying to be close to him. (Yeah, I know…
The other villagers have mostly respected his personal space after he told them he had a gf, unlike her. They also don't have a crush on him. I didn't say I was ticked off but bothered seeing her still invade his space.

That way of thinking is disrespectful to me. You can have a crush on someone & still be respectful of someone's relationship status & have boundaries, though as I said I don't think FL is trying to do anything but be his friend right now.

Yeah they kind of copy pasting the style of Kwon PD backstory, but that one was from the original so it was less…
I meant that by revealing Mr. Kwon's story they were trying to make me go "ah, I understand him now" but for me it didn't work. The writing & directing has failed to deliver the messages they're trying to get across. I don't have much faith for them to stop doing that now lol
