Right, it's difficult to see him as a love interest for her when he looks like a younger brother. I've lowkey been annoyed with him since we met him because of his comments towards ML. Not because I ship FL with ML but because the friend was being prejudiced towards ML. I hope the love triangle drama or whatever doesn't get dragged until the end, even if it's a short drama.

Agreed. Also, it's difficult for me to have sls when he looks, & acts, like a younger brother. & his passive aggressive comments towards ML make me cringe.

I was also bothered by the fact that he said he has a gf yet FL is still trying to be close to him. (Yeah, I know she wants him to remember her as his friend so it's not as if she's trying to seduce him.)

I've been a silent viewer, just liking comments on here, but episode 14 had me disturbed that I had to write out my feelings. I never really have high expectations for dramas dealing with trauma that affects a character's mental health but this surprised me - & not in a good way. I didn't even want to watch because I couldn't believe how the serious issues were being brushed aside to give Shin Dae Ryuk's mom a weak redemption arc. Honestly, this episode lowers my rating of the drama. It wasn't a great drama to begin with & lacks direction yet I've still mostly found it a tolerable watch. However, one of the things that has been a miss for me (& this ep is a perfect example of that) is how they reveal things to try & make a viewer understand & accept a character's actions yet it's done the opposite for me. For example, Mr. Kwon's backstory of why he is the way he is as a worker now & even the lack of care the pd's have shown for the artists as humans because meeting that deadline is more important. I don't think the last two episodes will be dramatically altering to make this is a great drama but I hope it at least ends on a decent note.

My comment isn't about him but about dramas being a business & that's what I meant about people not liking it.

I agree with all your points. To add on, making dramas is a business too so they're going to cast whoever they think will bring them the most benefits. We may not like that but it is what it is.

Yeah, I don't think there is anything wrong with saying you don't envision him for the role or thinking his acting needs improving but it's clear that some only want to be overly negative. I understand the reservations about his acting, but for all we know this could be his best role yet. & some, who haven't even read the webtoon, are saying the story is bad or thinking they know what kind of story it is because he's being considered for the role. Maybe the adaption will be bad, maybe it will be good. As a fan of the webtoon, it's a bummer seeing people hate on it when there are no episodes to justify that.

Now that you mention him, I could see him playing the role. Lee Jae Wook would be great as well. Visually, I still don't have an actor that fits the character's design.

Yeah, that's why a part of me wants him to turn it down so he can choose something different but I'll support whatever he chooses. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing something new from him in his other drama.

I don't have a particular actor in mind but I did think someone with a more mature looking face would play Seo Won. That's not shade to him by the way because he's pretty & I'm his fan. But, in general, I really liked this webtoon so I'm a bit nervous for how the adaptation will turn out. I'm hoping for the best results.

Agreed, I liked him in hit the top too. That was the drama that introduced me to him & I would like to see him in those kind of roles more than the cold & distant ones. I also didn't think he was too bad in Rookie Historian. Like you said, hopefully his upcoming projects will show a side of him that we haven't seen before & he improves through the guidance of his senior co-stars.

Who knew that whale talk could be so emotional? Young Woo speaking about how whales are intelligent so they know they're going to be killed but refuse to leave their babies & wondering if she were a whale, would her mom have abandoned her had my eyes blurry with tears. But, one of the things I'm enjoying about this drama is how with every case there's a message for Young Woo & for us viewers too.

No, the Korean one focuses on the main leads & the objections they face about their relationship, especially from her horrible mother.

The secondary couples here are something that is different from the Korean one. I found Xiao Mian annoying so I didn't care for her relationship with Yi Bo, but I did like Yi Ran (FL's friend) & Chen Ye (Guang Xi's boss).

Yes, though some things are the same or similar, what I hated or disliked about SITR is fixed here. So, I also like this much better than SITR.

They begin dating in episode 10. There isn't a love triangle, but there is an ex who won't let go. There is no breakup.

Now that I finished it, I can say without hesitation that I definitely liked it better than SITR. (The only thing that I liked better from SITR was the acting.) It wasn't without its conflicts yet it still felt easy to watch - probably because of how the leads handled their problems together. If you're looking for something that's easy to binge & pass the time, then this drama is worth a try. I'll be writing a review with more details later, especially because I know there may be some viewers who didn't like SITR that are hesitant to watch.
