Don't know what it is but the grandma is way too mysterious to me. I'm certain she murdered fl parents since they were co founders of the company and my theory is she wanted it all to herself. But still why take care of their kid and this really bothers me but I can't put my head around their relationship being genuine like i get the guilt but why adopt the child and moreover be so close to a practically inseparable point. I am also hypothesizing she made a deal with ML because of the scene where she died, he didn't wanna save her aka make a deal with fl ..i might be reading too much into this but im excited to see how everything unfolds. And that tango scene..AWESOME. I hope ml was able to spot the camera with his powers tho
Just finished this and my oh my why is this not popular????
regardless i got beef big time beef with FL. I liked her at first but grew to just want to punch her in her freaking throat. I had moments where I highly commended her but with her relationship with ML I stayed upset throughout. Her entitled-ness was harsh to bear and oh my how embarrassing she got!!! ML did so much for her and she was merely ungrateful. She never fully expressed how she really felt about him til much later and even then she was not very candid. She didnt express clearly that she had feelings for ml but didnt like the fact the he wanted to stay unmarried and made fun of him for liking multiple women at a time when she was sorta doing the same thing!? In my book she is a horrible friend because how you gonna still eye your best friend's HUSBAND for so longg, love the relationship with the best friend though.
ALSO ml's relationship with singer guy leaves a lot to be desired. The guy can really siing though!!
Hmm they really wasted Jae Won's and Jin Hee's amazing chemistry...
personally i wouldve said that but after episode 10 i really started seeing them as a family that was reunited too late. the writers did their thing imo
aigooooo aiiiigoo aiiigooo that scene is so heartbreaking
Anyway Im close to completing this drama and I gotta say yall are overreacting about the mom. I was raised in an African household and in all honesty my parents arenāt that strict on the stereotypical scale. Her cold approach to parenthood is clearly good hearted and she does everything a mother should. Could she have been nicer, yes that wouldāve been nice and i agree thar she shouldve let kang ho explore his arty side but regardless she did great as a mother and atoned for her wrongs so i see no fault.
i loved the variety of characters but mostly i liked the two thugs under limping thug(i genuinely dont remember his name and dint wnna look lol), esp the og one i love his eyes btw. Singer guy also stood out and i personally loved his voice. T tho is deseves hype respectfully
First of all, let me start by prefacing that I am single watching this, seems like that changes the perspective of how you see this work.
I gotta say this drama aged well in my eyes because watching this in 2023 when it came out in 2014 Iām surprised it's not awfully outdated. It maintained its uniqueness and while Iāve seen it described as mellow, it's refreshing and not quite as dull. Yet still, I sure have a couple of bones to pick but I gotta say I am impressed. The production team definitely did their thing.
Iām sharing my opinions on the characters, there are some lil spoilers here and there so be careful ..
Firstly; male lead. I personally do not like this man, from the day he met ll Ri. For a grown man he entertained too much childishness in my opinion. To me it seems like the only reason why he finally gave in to her was because she saved him from the accident. I get it somehow, maybe he felt like he owed it to her, or that it moved him so much or heck it could be that he already liked that little girl(i guess it was implied when he said he was counting days til she graduates) in which case, gross. No teacher spends such amounts of time with their student, unless it's common in Korea which not gonna lie I doubt, and thatās very strange. I'm saying that he couldāve ended it before it started, and thatās really what he shouldāve done(he tried I guess but not enough for me) but then again kdramas love fate⦠Another thing, heās portrayed as a kind nice dude and I suppose he is, but name one thing this man did for ll Ri. Even when they met for the second time he did not really express his interest or put in effort that he wanted ll Ri too, he just kind of went with everything. It's sad that his luck is so rotten but I honestly do not see what ll Ri saw. I really do not see him as attractive; heās not charming, heās not funny, heās not fulfilled(like that) like ??? And to top it all off heās very stalkerish. Oh and the anger issues + vengefulness. Iām having a hard time seeing how āperfectā he is. His reasoning mostly did not make sense to me as well. He gave shorty such a hard time until Mr neighbor confessed to meddling and that didnāt sit well with me, heās more focused on how heās perceived by others.
I do like the second male lead though. It doesnāt help that he is conventionally attractive. Of course, heās not perfect, but I feel like he was sincere from the very start and is really an action man. Maybe its a personal preference and I know attraction is subjective but heās portrayed as everything KT isnāt and not gonna lie his scenes sent shivers down my spine. I do not fully like how passionate he was, to a point it felt pushy and he seemed to have no sense of shame or moral compass. He often misspoke and misacted and I wish he was a bit more reserved in that aspect but it all made for an amazing character. I definitely understand ll Ri and why she fell for him.
Now to ll Ri. Lord. Iāll try to keep it short. She needed to be humbled a bit at the beginning. She has too much confidence and came off as extremely childish for a high school student. The only thing she had going for her was her painting ambition and her undying pursuit for her teacher. In which case, weird. Even the sister warned her, but her disobedient self did not listen of course. As she grew I saw improvement, and she was still quirky which was a plus but omg she needs to listen. She did not need to keep showing up at Kimās house at all. She is definitely to blame for a lot. She really does not think before doing something and that irks me. She did not have to let her life be controlled by her in-laws like that, which makes her seem like a pushover. She had no right to complain about it at all, she did all to herself.
All other characters had their things going too, but I couldnāt grasp the situation between the two younger in-laws. They were overall so weird and I did not like MLās bro at all, that guy is annoying. Another thing I did not understand is why the sister collapsed, but Iām on episode 14 so let's see if they reveal it. Oh and all the soju drinking - Lawd I hope their livers and kidneys are okay
Before watching this show i didn't think there was such a thing as emotional cheating. However I believe its up to the individual to voice their concerns they have with their partner to make necessary changes and there's never an excuse to cheat.
The ending was a little devastating, only because it wasn't to the watcher's expectation. In real life its perfectly reasonable choosing the one you have feelings for over something that could be, that's just potential. But then again personally my trust would be close to impossible to ammend so its whatever, but I respect her decision. I still don't understand why Yo just couldn just make love to her, like you already love her ??? and would they stay like that forever
