This entire Germany episode could have been as good and as emotional without Eunsong, there is enough plot left even without that to cover the two other episodes. Would not have cost emotionally, similar ending scene and credits could have been prepared invoking similar emotions in the watcher, but no lets overcomplicate things. The acting in this drama carries it, its unreal, they sell the emotions completely, thats why its still going to be well rated after the end. The writing is just too old school for 2024.

To give you another example of a show that really does satisfaction well, even if a different genre is the anime Frieren, that is the sort of editing I would like, each episode self contained, with just enough cliffhangers so the viewers are kept interested.

It is indeed common in television to the point its an overused cliche, and it is exactly the thing or aspect I do not like and there is a trend of moving away from this due to streaming services availability which I like. A few episodes is fine but every episode is annoying. There is not a single instance they have won yet, because they will probably win in the end. Punching in the face is not a win, neither was Hae-in 's confession because that had zero immediate repercussions. He conveniently got the money again to weasel through. the best comparison I can make is to Vincenzo where each episode had some satisfaction even if ended on a cliffhanger, here I don't get it. More so we know where the story is headed, haein losing memory and eunsong trying to use that. I am hoping the writer would show Eunsong failing like she did in ep 10, but I cannot trust her to do it twice.

You mistook my point. A drama needs conflict, but a drama where every episode ends with the creation of new conflict is exactly like the old school soap operas, which I dislike and which several k-drama has tried to steer away from. A simple example is I would have preferred this episode to end at "christmas" relegating the rest to the next episode. Now here is the catch, if I was not watching this as a weekly drama this factor does not matter, because you can stop anytime. What you usually remember is the ending of the episode for weekly drama, which is why the screenwriters usually put this fluffy epilogue to ensure we leave with a good taste in the mouth, but its not cutting it anymore. If the good guys never get a win for 14 episodes barring just a small one it does get frustrating because none of the "events" planned by the good guys are having any effect on the bad guys. That doesn't make sense as a story. Life is a continuous thing, a drama is discontinuous so the taste it leaves at the end of these discontinuities matter in the overall impression, at least for me.
If either one of them dies, I have a feeling the rating here will plummet.it's already cliche on many parts, so…
Oh yes for sure, I was a big believer in the series, but it is getting frustrating. If a series doesn't leave me with good memories, I can't rate it high. I am not looking for technical perfection etc anyway, thats for the critics.
I would have enjoyed this series a lot more if the episodes ended on something happy than something which was concerning/frustrating all the time. Starting to face the same issues I had with CLOY, the frustrating elements take over the memory of the good times. Anyway as usual both the lead actors were phenomenal.
A tad underwhelming episode, but that's expected because ep 11 is the first climax of the drama, it should again build to end of ep 15-beginning of ep 16.
Holy shit I didnt know the one of directors was also the director of vincenzo and little women and the other was of bulgasal, this is literally an all star ensemble
So this is what you get when you add god tier osts to god tier main actors and god tier scriptwriting for the romance melodrama/comedy genre. It's just unfair.
Every year I get a new romance drama added to my yearly rewatch, I thought it will be twinkling watermelon for this year, but no, this one it is! What incredible acting and emotions, OST, production and effective use of plot devices. Incredible. Not a huge fan of CLOY, but this one is just...
Love the vibe, love the story, love the characters. Love this small village thrillers with a slowly meandering storyline, second favourite drama of the season after Samdal-ri.
Loved the couple of episodes again. Things are gradually untangling themselves. The dumbness of the beach is a bit over obvious but I ain't complaining. Very sad that it's coming to an end, hopefully the drama taking it's place in 2 weeks time is just as relaxing for me.
Moving was my favourite of 2023 as well. If anyone now asks me what K drama I should watch if I just want to watch one, I shall say Moving (instead of Flower of Evil), because that shows of the potential of what K drama can convey in the medium in modern era, Flower of Evil was a great thriller, but stylistically its a bit dated. Apart from that I loved Twinkling Watermelon, Glory, Alchemy of Souls (watch both parts in a marathon), The good bad mother, Hidden Love and now absolutely adore Welcome to Samdal-ri. It was an amazing year for dramas.
I personally love these dramas which portrays the mundane in a special way. Yes "nothing" really happens in this drama, nobody is a murdered, nobody is a son of a conglomerate, nobody's past life is connected, but the human emotions brought out from the mundane day to day activities is what makes me wait for it. Brings a smile to my face to see a story where people navigate life's troubles to actually find themselves. Because maybe in real life this is not how it pans out, so we have to be happy with a fantasy. My favourite among all the airing drama, maybe it's my age.
