I know this is based off of previous drama and they are basically copying it with a few tweaks, but couldn't they have changed some of the tropes, omg these tropes are getting so overused. No wonder a lot of people want to drop this drama. I think they are putting in almost every trope you can think of in a this costume drama.
Despite all that I am still enjoying it and I am absolutely loving the acting (except the Dr./Master's wife, I think she is a bit overacting). ARP has been growing on me ever since I saw him in A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College and TXW is so cute and her acting is always good. I am really enjoying BBK and I want to see her in more dramas, I like her. As for ZSR, he is great actor as well and I like watching him.

Yes I agree, I am mainly watching to fill in while I wait for more episodes of The Legend of Zhouhua and My Journey to You (which so happy started yesterday and is so good so far). I keep trying to think who could have killed them or rather who would have benefitted from it, but man there are way to many options to pick from, so it is so hard to know.
Slow, Dark, Intriguing, Serious, and Mysterious. This is an absolute perfect role for Esther Yu, this is the type of drama I enjoy watching her in. I have to say although the build up is slow it is very good. The acting, scenery, martial arts (although minimal so far, but what little they showed), and the story are all done very well. I am enjoying it and can't wait to find out who really is the bad guy. It seems there are so many of them right now. And was not expecting, the beginning of the 3rd episode what a turn.
