This is probably the best 2022 (almost 2023) modern drama, I have seen this year. I have just finished the first 6 episodes and watched the previews for the next two and wow. The cast is amazing and so far the story has been really good. Sexual Harrasment and Gender Discrimination drama, what more could you ask for. I so hope that gender discriminating captain gets what is coming to him, what a freaking a**.
Just started watching only halfway through episode 1 and already loving it. Hopefully it continues and am so enjoying Wang Kai and Seven Tan together, so far limited interactions (only cause I am on episode 1) but I can already feel their chemistry (not necessarily in the romance department yet, but definitely in the acting together part). Most definitely, already, a lot better than her and Kenny Lin in Master of My Own.
I absolutely loved Love Like the Galaxy, it is my absolute new favorite costume drama now along with Ming Lan. I will have to say I haven't read any of the novels. The only one I did start was Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, but never finished. I really think I need to read more of these dramas' novels to get a better understanding.
I did hear so much about how the adaptation of Who Rules the World was changed. I liked Who Rules the World to a point, and mostly because of Zhao Lu Si and Lai Yi. The drama itself overall was not great. So much drama/controversy behind the drama as well, with the producer and director, etc. I hated they changed so much and made it more Male Lead centric, because again ZLS was really good.
I like Go Go Squid, too. To hear that Yang Zi's character was dumb downed, it makes me want to read the novel now. For her supposedly having 2 majors and being so smart, I didn't like how silly they made her in the drama. As for You are My Glory and Skate Into Love, I like both them as well. I did get a bit bored with You are My Glory toward the last few episodes though.
I have never watched The Untamed, I can't get past the 1st episode. Some people have told me to skip up til episode 11 then watch it. I just haven't been interested in starting it again for the who knows how many time.
Thank you for your synopsis on the difference with the book and dramas. I know they like to change things with they adapt books into dramas, but to see how much is changed really makes it you see which one is better. I will definitely start reading more books so I can see the differences as well.
Finally finished. I would have given this at least 8.5 maybe, maybe a 9, but after the editing and after screwing up the awesome relationship between Qiao and GuangHan. I have to give it a way lower score. The editing did this drama an injustice. They edited out important dramatic scenes and left in scenes that seem unimportant to the story. This drama really had great potential and it seemed they were just kind of here lets throw this and that cliche into the drama. The acting was pretty good. I really have to say I was impressed with the FL actress, I can't wait to see her in more dramas. I have watched the ML in a few other dramas and he isn't bad.
2 episodes left. I have to say overall this drama would have been really good, but the editing messed it up. The acting was good, costumes for the gameplay were good, the story would have been great but of course we know why that isn't the case. So blaming the editor, director, production team for a very overall low score, unfortunately.
I really like this show, but I would like it even better if it didn't feel so incomplete. It is like they cut…
So I am aggravated at why she got upset when she found out he was Ink White. Technically she didn't tell him she was Chu He (although he figured it out on his own), but still. I think it was childish of her to act that way. I think she should have been ecstatic. If she should get upset about anything it is definitely not that. I thought that scene was really stupid. They even hinted a few times, she thought Ink White might be Han Jing Mo.
Right now they only parts I look forward to are the scenes between her and her brother and her brother and Gu Qiao Bei.
I really like this show, but I would like it even better if it didn't feel so incomplete. It is like they cut out so many scenes, etc. (I am not just talking about the confession scene, either). I feel like they rush scenes and there is so much we miss that would make this drama so much better. Some of the scenes they do put in feel so inadequate. more comments below (spoiler)
oh yah for sureeethey've had that watermelon thing a few times I think
yeah these last couple of episodes I actually caught on to it, it is so funny just to see them pull these watermelons out of no where, I am like where the hell did the watermelon come from, LOL
Ok, LOL, what is with all the watermelon eating? Are they are trying make a pun about melon =gossip? Cause everytime I see them pull watermelon out of no where they also either are listening to gossip or talking about it.
Did they also edited out the moment that ML discovers that his boss is FL brother or did i miss something ?
who knows, they have edited/cut out so many scenes, it is getting so frustrating to watch, even though I really like the drama and the overall story, the editing just makes me mad
I disliked this show, but I'm going to look for shows with Li Ze Feng. He got my attention.
I first saw him in Go Go Squid and really liked him in that. He plays a support character, but it is a very good show and stars Yang Zi (which honestly is probably the only drama I really like her in) and Li Xian.
Li Ze Feng was in the main role in Wow Mom, quite an entertaining drama. He was also with Xu Kai in Ancient Love…
I couldn't watch Ancient Love Poetry and I really tried, because it had several of my favorite actors in it (Xu Kai, Leon Lai, Liu Xue Yi). I did not like the FL and I really honestly saw no chemistry between Xu Kai and ZDY. My favorites of Xu Kai are anything with him and Bai Lu, The Legends and Arsenal Military Academy, also really liked him in Falling Into Your Smile. Dance of the Sky Empire was pretty good as well. I am looking forward to Snow Eagle Lord, can't wait til that one comes out.
