I don’t really know much about Krist’s homophobic remarks as I really don’t care about actors outside their dramas but if he’s still doing a BL drama and working with queer directors despite having so many successful roles in non BL dramas, something tells me he doesn’t view BL roles and this community as something lowly as many in here are trying to claim.
I am here for the art first and everything here looks good to me.
The trailer surprised me in a good way actually. Gavin’s delivery for this character is not my favorite but it still works and I really like the pairing. Krist is killing it and they look good together! I think their chemistry is fine too, you can notice it during the end of the trailer. It definitely feels way more different than the pilot trailer, more melancholic than comedic for sure. The production quality looks very good too which honestly made me think this could rather be turned into a movie instead.
I’m definitely tuning in, that last scene was enough to grab me in.
Edit: I do not appreciate the comments that are insinuating Gawin doesn't "deserve" the role or that Mike is "better"…
Mike x Krist was such a good combo. Both of them were so different yet they fit each other well so together which made them so nice. I guess the teams vision for Pisaeng’s role wasn’t Mike or they had felt the chemistry was missing something. Oh well, I am still excited for this since Gawin and Krist actually do look nice together too. I am just afraid Gawin might not play the role as I had imagined Mike to.
we’re FINALLY getting this. the gmmtv 2022 bl line up will be finally completed after a year and half of wait.
this was my favorite trailer back then so i hope this series will be enjoyable and will have something different to offer. i kinda want it to be messy and actually utilize the fantasy theme well.
now this is the first kbl that feels like a proper kdrama. it’s not the best but it’s definitely above its competitors. perfect pacing, cinematography, visuals, chemistry and the execution of the story. my favorite part has to be the acting and character interactions. god knows how they pulled this off, it just felt so natural. my only minor complaint would be the sound and scene transitions, they seriously were really abrupt sometimes but otherwise this seriously didn’t lack anything. this is the step in the right direction for korea in my opinion. get good talented actors over people who can’t act at all. make it decent length (seriously short length just completely kills the plot and story and the reason why this series worked so well was because of its length). i really enjoyed watching this and i hope other studios take notes from this series.
1 korean about 3 until 5 global votes, i don't worry about ktrainee. if talking about talent, there is a beautiful…
i agree tbh. many talented trainees could've made it but mnet pushed for their own faves. even i as a kim jiwoong fan know the privilege.
and yeah cong was seriously underrated. i personally think mnet shouldve promoted him. knetz don't dislike vietnamese idols (just like how they love hanni from newjeans) so if he was highlighted like taerae he would've easily made it since knetz loves vocals and visuals combination. same case for ollie, its a shame knetz only started talking about him right before his elimination.
oh wow, it’s almost over. started for kim jiwoong and stayed for him till the end. i liked him in bls so it was a nice surprise that he was actually skilled. he def could’ve gotten more push from MNET after how many times he went viral on korean forums but im content with his screen time overall. after all getting too much screen time isn’t even beneficial lol poor seok matthew. this finale will be nerve wrecking because all the remaining trainees are good and have strong fanbases.
i like the current top 9 but seungeon seriously would be such a nice addition. global fans keep claiming they vote for talent yet always ignored him when he’s actually excellent at both dancing and singing.
i’m just curious, if they’re turning an original webtoon into a drama & are taking out a key part (BL) wouldn’t…
it really depends on the contract. the writer of 'bungee jumping of their own' which casted nct's jaehyun author didn't completely sell all the rights so when kakao and the writer had disagreements they had to completely cancel the show.
for this show, either the writer probably only cares about earning money so doesn't mind them removing the bl elements or he has no rights to object at all
But i don't get one thing .... when watching those cdramas(with popular actors) which are censored because of…
it's simple, chinese bls have no other choice but to do it. at the same time, they don't completely remove the bl elements as well and try to brush it off as bromance. it's not the same case here, they are removing the bl elements and making it a bromance. i personally don't watch chinese bls because what's the point of watching a censored adaptation if it won't have moments done completely true to novels that are absolutely necessary.
this show had no real reason to remove its bls elements. it was advertised as a bl in the first news article and then the team suddenly announced they're removing it after they received backlash from homophobes. queer koreans and chinese people always feel bad when they have to hear this sad news, after all, they're more affected than us because their identity is being erased.
