I was too busy with school and finally caught up with this and just finished this. A solid 10/10😭 This is one of those dramas I actually don't skip a lot. I usually skip a lot especially scenes of the supporting characters.
Love, love, love Shaoshang and Zisheng love story. It's a slow burn and I'm a sucker for one lmao. I love how they work out their differences and understand each other. Too bad Zisheng fucked up and they ended up hurting for the past 5 years. Glad during the last episodes they walked side by side. Also loved it that it's the Cheng family who saved Shaoshang and the village and not always Zisheng. We can see how the family sticks together. Such a heart warming scene.
When Zisheng executed his revenge on Ling Yi, that scene where Shaoshang saved Zisheng from that General who's trying to kill him, I was like 😮. But then he fking jumped off the cliff leaving Shaoshang behind. I was like bitch? 😐 Really? Oh well if he didn't they both would've died. Shocking bro's still alive after falling from a cliff and being there for 2 days. 😶 Man's blessed by God.
I really like that we get to see the different situations families of the olden times. How every one had struggles, why their character is like that. The empress' death made me sob so much.😔
Many people really hated Shaoshang's Mom and I could see why.. When she saw how filial Shaoshang can actually be when she is loved at dotes upon, her heart broke. She knew she failed as a mother. Yuanyi realized how she actually doesn't know how to raise a daughter. Fortunately she and Shaoshang was able to reconcile.
Adding the scene where Qiqi confessed her love to Cheng Song and the grandmother and Shaoshang's mom reconciled. It made me cry buckets. 😭
Regarding Zisheng's past, dayuummm that was such a good plot twist. I was wondering why was he so fcking obsessed with investigating the case. But yeah that's because he's actually General Huo's son.🥲
One thing I also want to point out i that the imperial family is not fcking problematic. Sure the princesses are but that was because how they were raised. Fifth princess was spoiled and didn't get to experience what her family suffered during the chaotic times. Third princesses grew up with her asshole uncle. I love how the harem is actually harmonious, how the former crown prince and third prince's rivalry isn't driven by greed but it's because the third prince knew his royal brother's character.
It's sad tho that the Empress Xuan had to marry someone who isn't hers to begin with but the Emperor truly did care and love her. Empress Yue also did. The imperial family was really interesting. It's not that typical tyrant emperor with consorts on each others throat. While the princes are scheming against each other.
Overall, everyone got the closure and ending they deserve. Damn it tho I was expecting more on the last episode. 😐 Layk where's the fcking wedding? How I wish I got to see the lil kids of the Cheng family 🥺 Oh well🤷🏻♀️

It's a happy ever after!! But howwww???? Were they too lazy to come up with the idea of how they got revived and then just thrown us some happy scenes because they know we'll love it anyways? Argghhhhh why do they always do thiss??? Butchering the fcking ending. If they can't do the plot properly, then at least give us a satisfying & complete ending. It might be satisfying to see the happy family living in the mortal realm with their friends but we need an explanation! I got butterflies from watching those two special eps but at the same time the feeling of disappointment surfaces. Screw the director and script writer for this.

So I just finished binge watching 10 episodes today and dang my eyes feel dry as heck. 😃 Thank goodness that wasn't the ending or I'll fcking fly to China and punch the script writer. Part 2 really redeemed the ½ of the Part 1. Part 1's pacing was good at the beginning. Then it got slower, then picked up at the mortal realm. Then went like a turtle again. It's so annoying when you have to wait for the episodes only to find yourself bored and skipping, turning the 40mins episode you watch into 25mins watch instead. 🙄
I expected Xuanye to the biggest villain and steal Huanqin's spotlight but I guess the father-son encounter plus mother Ranqing redeemed it. The fight scene and conversation between them will always be memorable. Cheng Yi did an absolutely great job. Despite a lot of flaws this drama has, Xuan Ye's existence made half of my disappointment disappear. 🤭 Cheng Yi's voice so damn sexyy👀
Ranqing and Xuan Ye love story was really really interesting. How he always ends up conquering the world yet his wife always ends up dying in front of him. He obsessively turned time and time again and the last timeline became his doom.
Dang that kiss, that lemme just grab your face and give you the most passionate and "real" kiss (lol most of time they be dreaming🥲) you'll ever have was so effffinggg gooooooooood. I'll add that to my list of favorite Cdrama kiss scenes. 😚😚

What if tho, what if the plot went like Yingyuan revives Asura clan to fight the fake Emperor. It would've been fire! Nonetheless, how the episodes went satisfy me enough.
Oh yes I'd like to also praise the Immortals for not turning their back on Yingyuan just because he's Xuanye's son! 👏👏👏 They are actually smart to know that the case is suspicious and having known Yingyuan for thousands of years, they know how questionable those accusations are.

From being the only one to master hellfire by cutting emotions to the one and only to master glazed fire by having the most compassionate heart, what a glow up Dongfang Qingcang! We started with this cute lil nameless orchid to a goddess who finally understands what must be done, Xi Yun you did well! This drama will always be in my heart 💖

But in a drama series, it's different since it's the actress. I have been very attached to Jaewook and Somin's cp y'all 😭❤️ But since it's for the plot I hope they deliver it well.
