i need him in a high budget Netflix drama soon. I think he would eat as a rich chaebol with a mean attitude or a darker role as like a poor man fighting injustice (I.e vigilante or bloodhound)
Still waiting on this. Although, I prefer both actors together, due to SaeRon’s incident I think it is unlikely she will return even if they do proceed with this. I however do think that they can still pull off a season 2 with just DaReum by himself or a replacement female lead with Dareum taking the main character role.
Watched this like 4 years ago and I remember really liking it until I just saw that I only rated this a 6/10 star on here 💀 anyways watching it the second time around I would give it a lower score. Taking away the cinematography, which at times was intriguing, and the beautiful actors I found that the editing, pacing and overall crazy storyline don’t suit my current taste. Also, the FL’s acting was eh but there are times I felt she acted out the original manga character decently for a live action.
I think if you are just getting into the crazy/darker side of Japanese media then this movie will be a good introduction. But if you are triggered by more mature and graphic themes then this will make you highly uncomfortable.
Anyways I’ll probably get amnesia again and end up rewatching this in another 5 years only to realize how much I dislike it again.
This drama had the making to be so great for me but fell short (spoilers below).
1. Majority of the issues and challenges faced by the characters were a result of their own doings and it frustrated me constantly.
2.HATED GuangNan’s character so much. He was truly vile and the way he backstabbed everyone multiple times but kept getting passes truly angered me to the point I had to skip his scenes. Like he literally sabotaged his best friend from leaving, got his cousin framed for murder and then helped get the factory shut down yet he’s at the end living a happy life???
3.Bai Lin was so annoying at times. Each time she had a suitor she obviously didn’t have feelings for them but would still in a way lead them on or give them attention which explains why they felt comfortable treating her how they did. The secretary guy (forgot his name) obviously liked her and was using his dad to help her (and even he liked her) yet she still rode in his car and would do things with him which I felt were NOT needed for her job. Also, with her future boss it was clear as day from their first interaction he had feelings for her. Now I understand she had no job or money so she needed to work for him but at a certain point she should have stopped working for that psycho.
4.The way the time jumps were shown were so weird and I was confused if 2 years or 5 years had passed because there was conflicting scenes (i.e how they showed the 2000 new year but then showed 2008 after). Also, they said that 2 years passed but then when Bai Lin and XiaoLu were speaking she said it took her 5 years to get over him?? Maybe it was a translation/caption issue but I was so confused by how much time actually passed.
5.The ending scene was just terrible. I understand the creative reasoning for making it seem like everything that happens was just some big dream but I do not feel that it worked for this type of show or script. And if anything the whole “it was all a dream” scene should have been even before XiaoLu went to Shanghai the first time. It would have been better to show him waking up from this dream on the day he was scheduled to take the exam or maybe showing him waking up at the factory on a random day before the point that the pervert was arrested.
It is with sad news I announce that Baha and Hanyoung are no longer together 😭 I have been keeping up with them since the show ended and I noticed how they would like and comment on each other’s pictures and even took “date” pictures at the same location but now the two no longer follow each other. I am so devastated as this is the first time I’ve ever kept up with a reality dating show couple (and I’ve seen quite a few shows). Rooting for their reunion in the future ❤️
I truly can not find the right words to fully describe my thoughts on this drama 😭 it was bad but good, boring yet exciting and predictable yet unpredictable… like the sudden switch from being a serious drama with a psycho ML to a comedic lighter drama was so random. It’s like they pitched two separate dramas to iQiyi but were told they could only do one so they mashed them both together to get this Frankenstein mashup of a show 😭😭😭 anyways I WOULD still recommend anyone interested to still watch this roller coaster of a show
Wow probably the best BL in terms of storyline, acting and production. While I am BL fanatic I often find they lack in the three things previously mentioned, especially the acting. But this drama was sooooooo good there wasn’t a single moment that felt cringey or awkward and time flew by watching this. I can tell that the actors and GMMTV actually put time into this drama and that it wasn’t a quick money grab. I never rate dramas 10/10 but this drama is a 10/10 and I just finished it and came to write this review and once I’m done writing this review I plan on rewatching it again (which I never do).
This seasons cast is probably my favorite in terms of entertainment and personality however none of these people seem like they would last even one month together once this is over 😭😭 it’s a fun season but definitely ranks last for romance (for me)
Overall one of the best k-dramas of the year and a great way to end 2023. I do however feel that the last few episodes started to lose me a bit. Also, the ending felt super rushed but despite that still a top drama and will be added to my rewatch list.
