Congrats to Autumn Ballad for hitting 800 million views where it was viewed as the “most viewed drama of the day four times.” (Source-Marcus here!). The leads even came out to promote the series. They are sooo cute together…. Jeremy’s shyness, I can’t even…https://youtu.be/EwJf5DXZuek
Story Arcs can be so painful! I'm actually not surprised by QY's decision because it stays true to her character. Like someone has mentioned, she is an archetype of Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennett who was strong and forged ahead with her own personal happiness...until the SECOND proposal. I believe there is a happily ever after for leads, but they may still have a story to tell and some growing to do. In most all fairy tales, they give the appearance of "all hope is gone" until almost the very end.
For LY's growth, maybe he'll say what was in his heart to the person who needs to hear it.
It seems you’ve been very critical of the writing from many episodes ago. I’m curious what about the series…
I started watching Dine With Love to fill the time; however, the subtitles are absolutely atrocious. I'm trying to get through it guessing what everyone is saying because it does look good.
Honestly, I was so excited for Praomook. The writer and production team REALLY messed up the show. They had to go from 22 episodes down to 15/16. The ML was one of the worst I've watched in a series. He was so bad, his brother in law was trying to kill him, and a few viewers actually wished the BIL had succeeded. The happily-ever-after was the biggest disappointment...like taking a bite of a 7-layer cake and having it taste like sawdust. Just bad. The leads did so much better in Tra Barb See Chompoo.
This script has gotten so ridiculous. What the heck is with this writing?? We haven't seen much depth in the writing…
It seems you’ve been very critical of the writing from many episodes ago. I’m curious what about the series keeps you watching though. When a series reaches this point (mostly all “downhill”) sometimes it’s best to drop it and move on. I wished I’d done this with Praomook.
I've watched A LOT of Costume Dramas, and this is the first one where I feel I"m actually standing beside the characters, experiencing their actions and emotions, instead of of just watching them through a screen. I don't know if it's the AMAZING chemistry of the leads or the original story line. Whatever it is, I can't get enough.
If you like an original storyline/plot with quick witted leads who have the most AMAZING chemistry together, then YES. I highly recommend. This has to be one the best costume dramas I've watched. Jeremy and Bridgette have taken this series and created something extraordinary, IMO. It will be hard for me to watch others after this one.
Anyone else catch a double meaning when QY is talking to LY about the shackles? "...being able to subdue them without even fighting." Or is it just my obsessed mind about these two? LY's expression though...perfect!!
I'm tempted to get a WeTV subscription so I can watch the VIP episodes lol. Does anyone here have one? Is it worth…
I'm way too impatient, so it's definitely worth it for me. A coworker subscribed just to watch the latest episodes of this series, and she couldn't be happier.
I'm a Pride and Prejudice addict. I think I've seen EVERY single adaptation ever created (P&P old and new, Lost…
Indeed!! While WAITING for tomorrow to come, I more or less quote Colonel Brandon from Sense and Sensibility: "Give me the next episode..., or I shall run mad!"
I 'm really enjoying the Pride and Prejudice vibe from this. It has me grinning from ear to ear. Usually I roll…
I'm a Pride and Prejudice addict. I think I've seen EVERY single adaptation ever created (P&P old and new, Lost in Austen, Austenland, Zombies, etc). LOVE how you mentioned the character similarities here. Elizabeth Bennett was such a revolutionary and strong character who rejected the conventions of her time, much like Qiu Yan.
Drama watching is a personal experience. So if you don't like it you can stop watching it. No need to downgrade…
Okay. I agreed to it's a preference if you like the series or not. It is apparent you do not....and that is fine. Everyone is entitled and is free to share their opinions. There is also a review section to share/vent your opinion that will help others decide.
