Yes. He has wanted them dead since the beginning. They think he’s the real thing and he’s a fake and his so-called…
He died 17 years ago in the eastern palace fire incident -> as Qi Min. Meanwhile, Qi Min survived by taking on his identity and staying alive as Sui Yuanhuai instead.
I am trying to understand the timeline. How long is the winter in this drama? It feels they have been together…
Since the story is set in northwest China, one of the coldest region, snowfall is at its peak during mid-winter, which includes the New Year period. From New Year to episode 19/20 probably is only a few weeks apart, so it’s still logically make sense for it to be snowing.
Recently, life has been feeling pretty boring, but knowing there’s a great new drama coming out next year gives me something to look forward to. CXX and LYT are both strong actors, and in the hands of a good director, I’m sure they can deliver something amazing.
1. I’m just here to say that grey hair is the era! We had Song Mo last year and Qi Min this year. Please, no more fake shiny white hair. Let’s do a slightly grey instead from now on.
2. From the very first moment, I knew if AvenueX ever made a video about this drama, it would definitely be praise - and she did. She’s obsessed with the director, just like the director is obsessed with snow lol.
3. For people who say Lingzi (headgear worn by XZ) looks like a cockroach antenna or satanic symbol, you guys are insulting people's culture.
I just backread and no one mentioning about that. At the end, your only a attention seeker, I don't care of your…
dude like I care about your opinion? lol if you don't care then just skip it. you're not the owner of Mydramalist, I don't need your permission and opinion to comment anything here. yeah only an attention seeker who bombing comments lol.
I thought at first Chu rui was somewhat of a good guy because he was too tired to do evil things but that is not…
Yeah, I feel like Chu Rui’s character was a bit wasted. His storyline seemed unnecessary. He should’ve just stayed the good guy among the bad guys. I skipped straight to the end too, lol.
Just finished the novel. The first half was really interesting, but the story started to drag a bit toward the end. I’m hoping the screenwriter will be diligent enough to tighten the pacing and make the drama flow better overall.
YSX as Yun Chu feels a bit like her role in MJTY, but this time the character is much stronger and more cunning. No more bubbly expressions or baby voice. I'm very curious to see her in a more serious role.
ZYL as Chu Yi fits the character from the novel quite well. His look in the poster already gives off that noble vibe. I can already picture his shy expression when he's around YC lol.
Well, if everything went well, this drama would hv ended by ep 20. Since it has 28 eps, they needed to drag the…
There’s a difference between dragging out the plot and losing logic in the plot. NIV 1 had 54 episodes and still managed to keep the pacing and story under control. Episodes doesn't matter at all.
ML explained that his sister was most likely already mixed up with YFS. They had people outside the city who verified…
From the beginning, they must have already known how cunning and clever YFS is, how many Huben spies are roaming around, and they also should have known that YFS definitely wouldn’t just enter the city like that. Especially not after XHA’s identity as fake WX was revealed to WP. But instead, they were like, okay let’s gamble!
GY’s army token (including four other army tokens) had already been handed over to XWY, so the “threat” issue should no longer exist. The 1,000 soldiers stationed outside the city were not part of the massacre. They are ready to mobilize. GY also sent his men to meet with XWY and ask him to mobilize the imperial army, which he intended to use to crush the Hidden Alley. Roughly count, the number of soldiers should have been at least 1,200–1,500 people. But where were they? During the fight, I saw fewer than 100 people fighting alongside XWY. And GY only brought 100 of his men to secure the Imperial city. So they were waiting for YFS to enter the city with just these few people? Please, this is YFS, the narrative's main villain.
They literally had already received news that the Hidden Alley was empty, meaning everyone had already been mobilized out. Yet they were still discussing "oh our people are seeing YFS coming with seven people". Why didn’t they question where all those Huben people had vanished to? Gosh.
XHA’s biggest mistake was that he didn’t really have a plan. Their only plan was to let YFS enter the city and attack him recklessly, but they never planned what to do if they failed.
I don’t think WP was fooled by XHA. He simply had no other choice. There is an idiom, 父母之仇不共戴天 (Fùmǔ zhī chóu bù gòng dàitiān), which means that as a son, he must avenge his parents. But since he couldn’t do so, the only option left to him was suicide to redeem himself. His death was already decided the moment he learned the truth about his parents.
Yes I agree - Gao and Wuyang let YFS back into the city AND they invited the most powerful 4 military commanders…
I thought they really had a solid plan when they were so actively hunting YFS. But with a single strike, they were almost done. Gao was useless. GY stays alive just purely by luck. BW's dead. XWY is almost dead too, I don't even know how he escaped from those Huben people.
The story was pretty good up until they lost Chang'an to YFS. Like…wtf is happening? Did they really believe they could kill YFS just like that? And that whole crazy attack on the fake YFS? They couldn’t even see his face. What makes them so confident that it's really YFS who had been tricked and ready to be killed by them? Dude this is your main villain. How did they expect things to be that easy, especially when XHA’s identity as WX was already known to WP beforehand?
They knew YFS was going to enter the city. They prepared a forged travel pass. They also knew Huben spies were everywhere. And yet… no reinforcement backup? No contingency plan at all? The Huben just casually attacked XWY in the middle of the city. Chancellor Gao is now disabled, GY has to hide in the waterways, and WM gets captured. At first, they were actively hunting YFS, only for him to show up and completely crash them. So where was the preparation? Don't tell me this is their strategy because they're losing too much for this. Chancellor Gao and GY could die in the next moment. They're staying alive just for the sake of the story narrative.
BW's death also means nothing, because given the previous situation, she was supposed to be long dead when she returned to her family ALONE. The Huben literally can just capture her on her way back home and force XHA to come out.
Given how weak their defence was, XHA's task wasn't supposed to be hunting YFS but defending themself securely in Chang'an because YFS is out there ready to come for them at any time. He lost two important people, and still the battle felt nothing for him.

I'm so obsessed with them last year, so I bought their figurines from Taobao lol
