I don’t know if you’re familiar with sageuks, but if he had become King then Danoh would have been trapped in the palace. Queens, Concubines, Crown Princesses are prohibited from leaving the palace. All four characters were well fleshed out, we even got character development for some support characters and all four leads were pivotal to the story. Not a masterpiece, but a well thought out story. I’ll recommend to those who want to watch non-palace sageuks.

His character is well written in the web novel and webtoon, so he should be fine here
