i've been thinking the exact same thing!! I speculated that is why promotional material was pumped out super later and there wasn't pre-release promos either. I been following since it made the rounds that the novel would be adapted but i was surprised to only see 2 trailers prior to release!
I'm glad they ended up being a great hit regardless of the promotion! Perhaps it might be so popular they will release MAYBE the cuts that didn't make it???

I would be deceased if they reunited for a 3rd collab! I would love to see them play a more mature role / story line (of course with romance!! and def no love triangle :') pls ); I feel like their dynamic would work well in those type of story lines as well as in these lighthearted and fun ones!
Their chemistry is just oozing out of the screen!! From all the promotion content, (im not sure if it's just a PR stunt, where the leads actors act close/intimate just for the show) BUT it seems like the two of them are very close.

The show has explored a bit of MiaoMiao's feelings on him during the capital arc, but I feel like it should be more fleshed out and explored more.
IDK if I am being overzealous and too hopeful that maybe it's all part of the writing? I think that the show has made quite the point to show us in the beginning that we follow MiaoMiao's POV and we get to hear her thoughts and she narrated and informed the story for us.
Before the capital arc, there were some "bugs" with the system and that is beginning of when we start drifting from MiaoMiao's POV into a more group focused narrative where we switch from the perspectives, even though we still got bits and pieces of MiaoMiao's POV and thoughts it definitely dwindled. I think the last glimpse of being in MiaoMiao's shoes was when she ran to find ZiQi and it's revealed she misses him.
Once she unlocked the Apocal powers from the system, that was the end of any narration and inner thoughts that we got from MiaoMiao. Since then it's been radio silence, it's like the show shifted gears toward a third person perspective.
With that being said, I think that the 1% is on her, which is when she regains her memory and gets back in touch with the system.
Seems the key to Zi Qi merging with the Crescent weapon is facing his inner demons, both figuratively and literally.…
I totally believe that they are two halves of a whole, yin and yang style!!! She possesses the appearance and rainbow powers, I know he has the crescent but i wonder if it's also lotus core that he has!

I love their sweet moments!!! I was trying be patient on their kiss but I'm getting impatient now haha! It's a shame we won't get to see probably any more than 2-3 kisses, like in Moonlight, their tension in LGIEF when they were just getting to know eachother could cut like a knife!

While visiting Fuyi's master, the show alludes that BOTH Miaomiao and Ziqi might be the heavenly cultivator / hero that saves the world.
The OG heavenly cultivator looks just like miaomiao with rainbow powers AND wield the spear!
Yet ziqi is the one who pulls out the spear and miaomiao takes on her appearance and inner powers.
They seem to be two parts of a whole like yin and yang!
I know for sure that Ziqi in the manhua is supposed to cry blood WHICH only triggered because he cried for Miaomiao (like tears of love ig?), however, with the changes in the show, I think it's safe to assume it might be Miaomiao for now? maybe idk..

It might be talking about miaomiao, I know in the manhua Ziqi is supposed to cry blood, which he doesn't from what we've seen. It might just be Miaomiao! I think the context also made it seem like it was referring to miaomiao!

She acquires abilities later.... like mid way through. Although she isn't gifted in the arts, I enjoy that her strength is that she is clever and smart!
I hope they dedicate at least one episode to the present/modern setting.
Although I know many ppl don't like the, 'i show up at ur doorstep the last 30 seconds of the show,' trope, I don't mind it because I thought it was quite nice in Story of Kunning Palace.
HOWEVER, I feel like it is necessary for this show to have one episode at the very least because the way they set up the show with the constant reminder that there is a system and constant references to modern day. It would give some clarity on how and why they both fell into the book world.
It wouldn't make sense for them to just randomly run into each other given that, they have nothing connecting them like (editor/author in Kunning Palace OR screenwriter/actor in Romance of Tiger and Rose). I know the show alluded to them knowing each other in the past like high school/middle school maybe? But even then, there would need to be build up for them to meet.
I also hope, that Ziqi's personality remains the same or reflects when he returns back as Fu Zhou, that way it would feel more authentic. After all the person she fell in love with was Ziqi, personality and all!
I have a theory that during the meteor shower where Fuyi and Mu Yao kissed, might be hinting toward something. He suddenly got grim, talking about how many ppl have given their hearts only to have a sad/bad end (basically rejection and things not working out); in a way, it seems like he has experienced it (possibly in modern day MAYBE even by her unknowingly??) coincidentally this all happens during the meteor shower, and before that he was able to understand what she was thinking and help create the swing (alluding to how he is from modern day). Perhaps what sucked them in this world, was that he made a wish during a meteor shower to get another chance with her :)))????
Maybe I'm reaching...I'm just obsessed LOL. I've been so excited for this drama since I read the novel and manhua! I can't go off the novel either, because the show altered the storyline! I think for the better tho!!

Yes!!! I agree, and since the beginning MiaoMiao has been the person to fill the audience in with info from the OG novel. Since she is beginning to lose her grip of the real world + memory loss, she is no longer the person to guide the audience on missing information, it would be clever if the plot was to reflect that.
