Ok, so i definitely agree that the show has become choppy. It would be a shame bc this drama has such a good premise and narrative, it would be a shame that they were held back or limited to a certain amount of episodes/time and had to cut things.
However there is just a sliver of hope that maybe it was part of the plot? Because i was really thinking about it and there is something i noticed, and hopefully it might be good writing?? Idk. I guess this is a theory?
Since the beginning, the protagonist that we followed was MiaoMiao. When the capital arc happened and she began to lose connection with the real world and immerse herself, the show started to shift gears and we focused more on the others as though its like the OG novel (more focus on Mu Yao) than just MiaoMiao and it seems like she had forgotten her goal which was to get ZiQ's affection to 100%. Before reaching the capital there was a "bug," maybe it started a domino effect in the capital and other "bugs" began to show.
Since MiaoMiao unlocked her powers which had some reprecussions, she began having gaps in her memory, just like the story/episode had gaps that didnt seem to have any closure after as well. Maybe it is part of the plot to reflect that, eveven though we are following MiaoMiao, now with her memory loss, the story might have gaps?
Hello everyone!! I made an edit of this show, it's super short just roughly 35 seconds! Please check it out, I would really appreciate it! (It has no spoilers about the plot!)
This is my first time editing with this type of song and I'm still a novice editor, any tips/advice would be great!
I really like the show and the chemistry is just top-tier. The idea for this edit is their chemistry and the amount of tension they have with just eye contact and looking at each other! (I really love their couple moments now, but I also really like their occasional flirting and eyes when they were still warming up!)
I wanted to see more behind the scenes of Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi as Ling Miao Miao and Mu Ziqi during filming…
TBH, I wonder if the company behind the show didn't think it was going to be as big of a hit as it is. Which would explain why they probably didn't do any of that at first, but probably WILL because of it's popularity. There was very little promotion leading up to it with just a few trailers too.
With its current popularity, we are probably/most definitely going to see promotion material, at least that is how it usually goes.
The stylist knew what they were doing with both Esther Yu and Ryan Ding. My gosh.. they both look so good. The style suits them and their characters. The costumes across the board for every character is impeccable.
Huge emphasis on how GOOD the costume design looks on Ryan Ding, the face-framing hair pieces look SO GOOD , the costume doesn't overpower or seem too bulky either, which is perfect. They really brought out his charm.
Esther Yu has a cute and flirtatious aspect about her and I think her makeup and costume design really helps emphasis that, again also brings out her charm.
I hope this drama won't lose its good quality in the second half. I'm kinda annoyed with this bracelet arc, which…
I think moving forward, the next arc is about figuring out ZiQi's past and it would probably connect to the Resentful Women/Demon and something about saving the world and what MiaoMiao's role is in saving the world.
By the looks of the teasers and bts, I think episode 22 is going to wrap up the capital arc, I think this is when Fuyi/Muyao and Ziqi/MiaoMiao will officially become couples (we are highly likely to see a kiss for both of the couples).
We are most likely going to see them being lovey-dovey/official and we'll get to see more fighting-focused stuff, with found-family themes, and more on morality of demons V. humans and how they are not very different.
As much as I would love to see more of the romance between MiaoMiao and Ziqi, it does make sense for the narrative to shift gears because this is a romance fantasy! Romance was only the half of it. We will probably get to see more fantasy AND STILL SOME ROMANCE in the next half. Remember her goal was to get him to 100% and she's going to be stuck at 99% for a while.
I believe it will all tie everything together, the arc about Ziqi's past and how he is a demon will contribute to the romance between the two of them.
I want to give this a shot because I love Ding Yuxi, but I can never get over Estherās high pitched baby voice…
TBH, I don't mind her voice, however, I don't think her voice should be the deal breaker, the point of a show is the story! The story is REALLY good so far and both Esther Yu and Ryan Ding have impeccable acting skills that bring out their chemistry.
I think a good way for you to look past her voice, is to look at the character and analyze if it suites the character she is playing. Like, "Hey, she is playing someone who is younger, has a cute concept, and is written as a very bubbly person, it probably does make sense that she has a higher-pitched voice to suit the character." In My Journey To You, she used a deeper voice to suit the character she was playing!
Voice change is something actors have to do frequently! That's exactly why there is dubbing in C-Dramas...Ryan Ding didn't dub this himself and that's ok because him and his team probably knew his voice, which is warmer and softer, wasn't suited for the character he is playing which needs a more colder tonality.
Overall, I definitely think you should watch it, if you really wanted to support Ding Yuxi, you shouldn't let something so miniscule affect your opinion of the PLOT/STORYLINE.
Never ever trust the rating on MDL because itās usually filled with fans and they will do everything in their…
I agree, I wish we all could just watch the shows we enjoy with the actors that we enjoy without the fan wars. We are here to support the show and the actors, not to spread hate!
No need for the hate and purposefully bring down other shows! It's not right to do this either because this might cause animosity between the actors and it's just an unfair situation when they could possibly have a great friendship or ARE friends.
It's also not up to the actors to decide when things are released. It's most likely the company behind the show trying to beat the other company, nothing to do with the actors! It's typical of companies who do the same thing and are trying to compete. It might also even be simply a coincidence. Nonetheless, we shouldn't hate!
Why didn't the system in drama not work anymore? All time the system in drama can change story but this time miao…
I think there are a few factors! 1. The bracelet and arc that is taking place. I think CuiCui mentioned something about the dust demons aren't able to appear in the capital. 2. I think it's to also show that MiaoMiao is so invested in this world, that it's no longer something she constantly looks for to check to see her progress.
Guys Im still at eps 1. Who is the villain and what is the plot. Can someone clarify? Thank you. I got so many…
So in the OG novel prior to Miao Miao transporting into the world, the novel was a supposedly tragedy and had contained many conflicts and villains. The original story's main character is Mu Yao and ultimately ends with everyone betraying her. I think it was stated that there were more villains, however the main villains in the OG would include: Lin Yu (The character Miao Miao becomes) Mu Sheng/Ziqi Liu Fuyi The Resentful Women/Demon
The current plot/ our plot is the Miao Miao becomes Lin Yu and wants to escape the novel world, however there is a system set in place which ends up telling her that a set of tasks need to be met and completed before she can leave. The main villain of the current plot would ONLY be the Resentful Women/Demon
I read both the novel and the manhua! They 100% changed it, on the official WeTV, the synopsis states that he…
I agree, I'm glad those MZQ's feelings were not romantic toward MY. Also we all have our little things that we like! I totally get it, haha! I definitely think the manhua will satisfy the dark romance!!
I have a question to novel readers. I know that due to censorship and whatnot, MZQ is a lot less darker but from…
I read both the novel and the manhua! They 100% changed it, on the official WeTV, the synopsis states that he is a tsundere. In the story, he ends up putting a spell to control her to marry him but she breaks out of it and plays along!
Personally, I prefer the change that the show has made, it made him a lot sweeter and gentle to her. Not to say that he isn't sweet in the novel, it just takes more time. I really didn't like that he forced her into marriage in the novel because it didn't feel right morally but also with the whole scope of the story it felt ill-fitting because it didn't feel mutual but until a little later. I like how the show fleshed not only ZQ feelings but MM which they didn't do AS MUCH in the novels.
However, they are more...active and lustful, if you know what i mean LOL. Although, I do enjoy the darker themes and aspects like their past and more wrestling with what is wrong or right. MuYao and MuSheng had a more complex relationship as siblings which I enjoyed.
Are Mu Yao and Liu Fu Yi supposed to be useless and empty characters???? Miao Miao is supposed to be this weak…
I do think there are some flaws in Liu Fuyi's character where he does fall a bit flat and does not make sense for him to be like "okay cool". However, I think it does make sense for Mu Yao to let her go with open arms because the show left hints that she is deciding to try to handle the demon that killed her family alone. Although I wish I saw more hesitation in Mu Yao.
Any theory on why ZiQi was able to envision the swing described by MiaoMiao? I thought it was an interesting little…
Honestly, I personally think it has less to do with the foreshadowing that he is the author, although i do think he is the author.
During that arc before the bracelet, the show made it apparent that he does like her and is beginning to realize it himself, I think the scene adds a layer of depth by showing that he doesn't just like her but has an incredible understanding of what she is thinking because he loves her.
The show also has made it a point to show their team work with just eye and body language. Ex. When the water demon came while she was training, or when she stole the mosquito repellent talisman.
If anything, i think it might show a bit of both. I think it does hint to him being from the real world but also to show development
However there is just a sliver of hope that maybe it was part of the plot? Because i was really thinking about it and there is something i noticed, and hopefully it might be good writing?? Idk. I guess this is a theory?

By the looks the the teasers from 25-26, miaomiao is beginning to forget the real world and her purpose of being there.
Even though the story is going a route I didnt expect, I am quite interested in what they have in store!!
