no bc i literally dont get people saying haeng seon's clothes are ugly or too old or?? have people never seen…
This is a very down-to-earth and realistic drama portraying a very *normal* and *ordinary* auntie who's the owner of a side-dish shop. She's a former athlete, who used to wear only sports jackets, t-shirts and oversized shirts. I do not understand all these people who expect her to have ~gOoD taSte iN cLoThes~ with silky, treated, beautiful coloured hair like some fashionable mori girl. I'm seriously wondering if people ever went to Koreatown or Chinatown and take a GOOD LOOK at the aunties there. IS2G people have been too comfortable with trash dramas like Eve where the FL changes into a haute couture outfit every 8 hours, and they think THAT is real life.

And her best friend actress is 42 years old in real life. I think Nam Haeng Seon should be the same age with her…
Yeah during their first encourter, he even called her "ahjumma". Which means he could tell that she's a lot older. Knowing this and falling in love with her even though she's not a "classic pretty face" is part of the beauty of this story. Bitching and moaning things like, "she looks old, she looks 60, her hair looks sticky," and then denying ageism, misogyny and lookism is just contemptible.

It's funny, and imo extremely telling, that no one brings up Jae Woo's age in the age debate nonsense. Because…
No, Jae Woo did come to my mind, but let's be real, he's not the white elephant in the room. It's just sooooo common for actors and actresses to be cast as characters that are not their age. This isn't even the first or second drama to do so. But all the outrage against this FL alone is so telling of what some people's mentalities are like. And if you ask me, Jae Woo looks older than 39.

People are so disturbed that the FL doesn't fit their beauty standard and idea of "young". They are angry that the script says she is "younger than she looks". It's not just misogyny and ageism, it's also lookism above all else.

So what if the FL is playing someone in her 30s? (She really doesn't look 50 to me. She passes as 40). Dude the ML's actor himself is a 40-year old man IRL already. They're ok with him playing 20-30 something because "he looks it".
On The Glory Part 2 Feb 23, 2023
I keep seeing news about the 2nd part, I thought it has already aired.... so much hype lmao. This usually means it'll have a disappointing end.

I want to clearly answer to angeliviki2022 about my last post. When I was talking about the first scandal in 2008,…
....????? "In Asia, you're considered a young adult at age 16."

LMAO um, no. A good majority of asians will tell you that their parents still treat them like a child even in their 20s, 30s and beyond. My family is like this. I'm sure many other asians on MDL can reaffirm this. You can google and you will also get the same answer.

But ultimately, every family is different. So if your asian parents treated you like an adult by age 16, that's probably because they have taken a western approach. Taking a western approach in raising kids isn't a bad thing, because asian families are too entrenched in over-protectionism, this is something that's hard to change even as we move into 2023.

BUT, what has that got to do with their marriage? Lmao. I just.... I find it disturbing that you're typing out essays after essays just to justify fans' objection to the marriage. Lee Da In did not commit a crime. Even if she did, Lee Seung Gi chose to marry her. He's a man in his mid-30s, why should he allow "fans" to dictate who he should marry?

His own parents and family didn't even object to his marriage, and fans think they have more rights? I find it absolutely bizarre.

I'm at ep 2 .. I loled when he tried to give her a new phone to compensate for the one he damaged. "My friend sells phones. He has an extra one. He's very generous. I'm giving it to you as a new member of this store." LMAO

Also Lee Bong Ryun is hilarious as always in her roles.

Wow! We're on episode 12 and we still have people coming on here to disparage the lead actress' age (She doesn't…
Yeah man. She was a former athlete, not a high school beauty queen. And she now runs a side dish restaurant. Is she supposed to look dainty and dress like Blackpink? There are many types of girls in this world, somehow people think only the pretty ones are deserving of love and romance with a handsome guy. So what if FL is probably supposed to be older than the ML?? It's because of misogynistic, ageist people like the ones below who devalue women as they age that this world can't change.
On To Grow with Love Feb 21, 2023
This was hilarious for the first few eps then the plot line became ridiculous, and Fei Tin's "naivety" became incredibly annoying. Her character didn't undergo any maturity changes, and Daniel's "love" for her was unconvincing. Daniel didn't show a change in accepting fat people in general. He only accepted Fei Tin. Two very annoying characters overall.

Person Sammi Cheng
This picture of her was taken in the early 90s, so it's over 30 years old. MDL doesn't allow photo replacements and they don't allow suggestions. MDL sucks. Way to do this to the Queen of CantoPop.

"HOOK Entertainment is a subsidiary of Chorokbaem Media, led by Won Young Shik. The company also has ties with Kang Jong Hyun."

She signed up with a company that LSG has been having problems with? :O Why did she get involved with a shady guy like that? He's fat and ugly, too... Man I don't know what to think of her now. She was probs with him for his money. :< I guess when you're used to a certain lifestyle, it's hard to look for "ordinary" guys. But I liked her. She was so straightforward and candid when she admitted she had plastic surgery.

I didn't really think their family has issues anyway in the first place. They're all independent actresses, her mother has been an actress for decades, they don't need to defraud the public for money.

But it's good that she came out to clarify things. If there is misinformation, it's only natural to correct it. Unlike some people. Who I shall not name.
Hazel Jung Feb 17, 2023
I had to google after reading one of the comments. And shit, he's indeed problematic lmao. I wouldn't like to be friends with someone like him. Men like him are everywhere, including on MDL. But going back to this article, I don't doubt his affection for animals. Being a chauvinistic pig and animal lover are not mutually exclusive. I've heard real stories from friends about their own family members who are shit to people but are completely devoted to their pets. Like him or hate him, I'm just glad I don't know him IRL.

I really loved this drama. It's hilarious, relaxing, and simple, with a small, corny subplot of ML's hidden trauma. The only thing I really hated was grandma's unnecessary death. She didn't even get to live to see the MARRY. Pissing me off.
