Like someone above said, this adaptation is the first half of the novel. There is still one more season to go (there's a petition, please sign it). While I agree that the slow build was very slow, as a queer person in a conservative country, I thought it made complete sense. Also, given their relationship, it complicated stuff even more. So it makes sense that they are slower than a tortoise when it comes to their feelings.

But it's still court cases, reappeals. Plus hero and his friends aren't actually cops so eho knows how much evidence will actually be accepted. Basically it's a red tape nonsense. We get enough of that irl, so we might get some satisfaction in movies atleast

This is why I love Indian movies. The hero will kill the bad guy at the end, but since it was a "justified murder", he will be out sooner. Of course, our justice system is equally bad, this is why filmmakers just kill the bad guys instead of having them arrested

What kinda main character complaint is this? Just because YOU don't understand english, doesn't mean we all have problems understanding it. Lots of people here are ESL and we all keep up just fine. I thought it was made clear by the other comments, but no. They are NOT together at the end. I haven't seen this drama yet, but they get separated at the end, bécause their story picks up in the sequel (or rather the original drama, which released last year) after Hotae returns from College and starts working at Dong Hee's cafe. Dong Hee was disowned by his homophobic parents and Hotae's mom took him in, so he is reluctant to face his feelings. Hotae is in love but he has no idea how pursue a clearly reluctant guy who keeps calling him "younger brother" (even though they are not related).

In the sequel, which takes place I think 10yrs later, they are still not together but now Hotae is confidant of himself and his love. At the end of the SEQUEL, Dong Hee finally agrees to let Hotae a chance (they are STILL not together, but it's hopeful). They are together in the manga epilogue, but not in the drama.

The sequel focuses on the main couple, these 2 are the side couple.
